Story exploration of elves having a greater affinity for magic?

Elven protagonists had sightly more magic and mana than human protagonists in DA:O. A few characters have mentioned elves having a greater affinity for magic (historically, culturally, and/or genetically) in DA:O and DA2. Yet, we have never explored the story or social implications in Circles or Andrastian society. (Doesn't help that every Circle mage companion so far has been human, every mge elf companion has been Dalish, and of course now we're required to be human).

Wouldn't a greater affinity for magic make elves slightly brighter targets for demons since they want powerful hosts? Wouldn't a cultural disrespect for elves lead human templars to think them less able to resist demon seduction? Wouldn't this added mistrust lead them to be harder on Circle elves than humans, and give them less time in the Joining? Would this explain why the vast majority of mages have been human in both games? (Or is it Merrill's comment about how templars don't pay them notice outside the Circle since they're "just another elf.") Now that mages are rebelling and trying to carve new lives for themselves outside the Circles, wouldn't the greater affinity for magic be considered a greater advantage?

Will BioWare ever explore the story implications behind the mechanics and offhand comments? I'm just asking these questions because no one else is.

Well, shemlen are barbarians, "worthless dogs" (Zathrian says)...any advanced civilization fall to barbarians eventually...look at Rome and Abbasid...

Rome fell from within long before it started losing its influence in the outlying territories.
