If the Warden and Hawke make a cameo, how do you want it done?

Perhaps even give us some say in what they say they're going to do after their cameo. I for one want my Warden to go help with the Elven Uprising I hear about, if that's a major part of DA:I...

The Warden would be a silent role, seen from afar, and spoken for by either a his/her LI, or another Warden NPC.

Not much would ****** me off about the Dragon Age series, but this is one of the only things. Let the Warden and Hawke go.
This. And if they have to turn up for the sake of Continuity Porn, make it a brief glimpse or a codex entry. That's what the codex is for, tracking things like this.

Personally, I would be pleasantly surprised to see my imported Hawke and Warden show up in a couple of cutscenes, as guest companions available for one or two side quest(s), or even just a mention of what they're up to (so that "Where are they?" question is answered).

I say it's time to let the Warden and Hawke go. This is a new chapter set in a new setting with (mostly) new characters. I've seen Hawke's and the Warden's story play out, now it's time for another hero.

Offscreen, if it has to happen at all. There is no way to write/code a scenario where you meet "your" Warden and/or Hawke and still have them look like the two characters you played. They'd have to make them completely generic-looking NPCs, and that would defeat the purpose.

I agree with this.
I would like to find out what's happened to them since it appears they've both gone missing somehow, but I also like the mystery. If we do find out, it should be from a secondhand source, though.

I agree completely. A (detailed) codex entry would be highly appreciated, and it would also be great to hear some background NPCs talk about Hawke or the Warden and what they've been up to. Or maybe find some journal entries, or something. But no personal appearances, please.Liskat wrote...

Except we haven't seen Hawke's story play out. It was left unfinished on purpose. Bioware had every intention of finishing it in an expansion which later got scraped and rolled into DAI.
Hawke's story needs resolution and I am quite sure we are going to get it in DAI.
I would love to see my Warden again, I just have no idea how they could do it in a satisfactory manner. Hoping I will at least her of him in detail from Morrigan, as he did have a child with her and leave through the Eluvian with her.

But the warden has no voice and has much more of a uniqueness to him or her that it would be impossible for them to do or say much without pissing most people off.
My main warden for example. I would not want to see my warden giving a crap about the circle just cause he saved them. He saved them because he hated the Templars that doesn't mean he cares about the circle. He didn't kill Wynn or Leliana because they were useful not because he cared about them. He manipulated them into helping him and fooled them into thinking the ashes were fine ect.
Oh and I have played much nicer wardens btw

Warden: "Inquisitor, we need your help!"
Hawke: "Yes, it is most urgent! You see-"
*A shadowy hooded figure emerges from an alleyway and kills them both*
Random Companion: "Oh no, they're dead! Quick, we have to chase that assassin!"

They could of course end the game with the screen fading to black and then have your character opening their eyes to Duncan and Alistair standing over them at the joining. That would fulfill the tasks of being artsy, explaining what happened to the Warden and Hawke and giving them their 'talked about ending' for their marketing stuff.
