If the Warden and Hawke make a cameo, how do you want it done?

Quite simply, how would you want them to appear? As a companion? Brief appearence in a cutscene? What would the circumstances be? For the record, if you don't want them to appear at all don't bother replying, this is for those like me who actually want closure to their stories.

Brief cutscene. Throw something in with the Warden's LI if they're present. I'd prefer no dialogue (if they have to, perhaps get the VA for their combat dialogue? They might be able to get a basic tone from that, too.), and if they can't give me the option to re-make their appearance, shroud their face with a hood or something. And don't have them do anything that would risk being terribly OOC, so don't have them stick around long.

Perhaps even give us some say in what they say they're going to do after their cameo. I for one want my Warden to go help with the Elven Uprising I hear about, if that's a major part of DA:I...

I think Hawke took on enough of a personality of his/her own to either make a single speaking cameo in the main story, or one sidequest cameo based on his/her LI/Class/Personality/Whichever aspect fits best.

The Warden would be a silent role, seen from afar, and spoken for by either a his/her LI, or another Warden NPC.

As bodies you can loot, I want Vigilance and Champion armor back.

I wouldn't mind the face mutilation on the hero of ferelden, as long as its more of a sad mutilation, not ugly/freak mutilation. but that would still leave personality... maybe the tongue gets cut out? hawke might be able to be in it, with the dominant tone or whatevs but then theres the face issue.

Maybe with a short scene where the Warden is in full armor and a helmet leading an army or something.

I would like a main story quest, where the warden has a role. For example, a quest about getting grey warden aid, so you visit their fortress and find it under attack, and the warden is leading the defense. You have to help him/her and convince them to give aid. Maybe the warden dies on the assault no matter what, or he/she goes for the calling later on in the game.

Not much would ****** me off about the Dragon Age series, but this is one of the only things. Let the Warden and Hawke go.

This.  And if they have to turn up for the sake of Continuity Porn, make it a brief glimpse or a codex entry.  That's what the codex is for, tracking things like this.

Regardless of how it's done (or if it's not done at all), it will ****** off fans.

Personally, I would be pleasantly surprised to see my imported Hawke and Warden show up in a couple of cutscenes, as guest companions available for one or two side quest(s), or even just a mention of what they're up to (so that "Where are they?" question is answered).

I would want a helmet to cover my wardens face, then I can still pretend it's my warden or let us customize hawke and the warden in the cc, or just have the wardens and hawkes Li show up and they can hint as to where they are and what they are doing then boom codex entry gets updated on warden and hawke.

Rumors and gossip. While I would love to see both characters in some sort of cut scene, if even just from a distance, I think there's plenty of potential with having them mentioned in banter. The snarkier and more outrageous, the better.

Offscreen, if it has to happen at all. There is no way to write/code a scenario where you meet "your" Warden and/or Hawke and still have them look like the two characters you played. They'd have to make them completely generic-looking NPCs, and that would defeat the purpose.

I say it's time to let the Warden and Hawke go. This is a new chapter set in a new setting with (mostly) new characters. I've seen Hawke's and the Warden's story play out, now it's time for another hero.

I agree with this.

I would like to find out what's happened to them since it appears they've both gone missing somehow, but I also like the mystery. If we do find out, it should be from a secondhand source, though.

I agree completely. A (detailed) codex entry would be highly appreciated, and it would also be great to hear some background NPCs talk about Hawke or the Warden and what they've been up to. Or maybe find some journal entries, or something. But no personal appearances, please.

I'd be more than happy with a detailed codex entry specifying the race, name, and gender of the Warden and Hawke, and their in-game decisions, maybe a bit about their LI, according to imports/fill ins by the player. Maybe, just maybe, a two-second cameo of the Warden in full armor and helm, if they're still alive, and an opportunity to loot that same armor (Hero of Ferelden/Champion of Kirkwall armor, anyone?), if they aren't. Just a respectful nod to previous heroes beyond a vague blurb or weirdly jarring appearances by former companions.

Except we haven't seen Hawke's story play out. It was left unfinished on purpose. Bioware had every intention of finishing it in an expansion which later got scraped and rolled into DAI.

Hawke's story needs resolution and I am quite sure we are going to get it in DAI.

I would love to see my Warden again, I just have no idea how they could do it in a satisfactory manner. Hoping I will at least her of him in detail from Morrigan, as he did have a child with her and leave through the Eluvian with her.

Hawke i don't care about so much if they are doing save imports to decide their character then they should have enough information for him or her to say stuff that wouldn't be completely out of character plus they have the voice actors.

But the warden has no voice and has much more of a uniqueness to him or her that it would be impossible for them to do or say much without pissing most people off.

My main warden for example. I would not want to see my warden giving a crap about the circle just cause he saved them. He saved them because he hated the Templars that doesn't mean he cares about the circle. He didn't kill Wynn or Leliana because they were useful not because he cared about them. He manipulated them into helping him and fooled them into thinking the ashes were fine ect.

Oh and I have played much nicer wardens btw

PC: "Oh my god, it's the Champion of Kirkwall and the Hero of Ferelden!"

Warden: "Inquisitor, we need your help!"

Hawke: "Yes, it is most urgent! You see-"

*A shadowy hooded figure emerges from an alleyway and kills them both*

Random Companion: "Oh no, they're dead! Quick, we have to chase that assassin!"

For Hawke they could do it as in Legacy where they just have the voice and no image, kind of recordings from the past. The Warden would be tricky as they weren't voiced.

They could of course end the game with the screen fading to black and then have your character opening their eyes to Duncan and Alistair standing over them at the joining. That would fulfill the tasks of being artsy, explaining what happened to the Warden and Hawke and giving them their 'talked about ending' for their marketing stuff.
