I am curious how they will work this out since the new consoles are coming out later this year. Will they stop supporting the current generation now or will we still see the next game or two on Xbox 360 for a few years? I have origins, awakening and da2 on my 360 but I might have to buy them on PC just so I can transfer my game saves. I prefer playing on console mostly.

DAI is releasing on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

There's going to be some system or method of doing save file transfers (or plot decision transfers) to the new consoles, they haven't revealed details yet.

I think I saw somewhere that EA plans to release games for XBOX360 and PS3 until 2016 as well as the new generation. Not sure if all games they make till then will be on both generations, but at least it seems we'll still be able to get games for the current gen for a few more years.

This makes sense since it will take a few years for the next gen to be bought by enough people to make it profitable for developers to completely stop releasing games for the older consoles.

nice! That was my major concern was transferring my games from 360 to whatever system I decide to move to. I'll keep my 360 copies and wait for DAI then and likely buy it on PC

very true now that I think about it. I remember them making PS 2 games until like 2010 or 2011. I didn't upgrade from my PS2 until like 2008 but this generation I am not sure how I want to do it.

We actually got an XBOX360 earlier this year so we could have a console for playing games in the sofa. We're not going to upgrade to next gen for many years as there are plenty 360 games out there that are cheap and entertaining.

More demanding games we get for the PC anyway. We might get a Steambox too when that comes out.
