I don't think that there should be any problems with regards to Cassandras age (Makes her cooler to me). Be it 35+,40 or whatever as I think its safe to assume the Inquisitor would be in his or her 30's as well as it seems to be a title that requires experience to earn it.

The PC become the Inquisitor because he/she is the only survivor of the event(s) that cause the Fade Breach. At first sight, experience doesn't seem to be a requirements.

N7recruit wrote...Slightly off topic but do any of you guys & gals remember when in the DAO or DA2 pre-release scheduled did they start talking about the Companions?
I know we are still over a year away until release but it would be cool to know when we can expect to get some more solid info on Cass as well as the others as the wait will probably drive me insane ; )

Depends on the companions, usually the early companions get revealed and talked about much earlier. While some are not really mentioned until the game is released, beside concept arts and hints. Both DAO and DA2 had monthly info dump about 6 months before release (not just of companions). Although, now we already know about Cassandra, Varric and Vivienne so we might learn more about them earlier (aka at PAX). Depends how BioWare want to strech the marketing and how much of it is "final".

I do want them to explain why Cassandra and Varric are traveling together...and how that lead them to stumble upon the Inquisitor too (and going by the pre-alpha gameplay, seems like they join early...like before everyone is level 2, but that thing might not be final though).

Checked the DAWiki page history for each DA2 companion.

Bethany and Varric - July 2010
Carver - August 2010
Aveline - September 2010
Isabela - October 2010
Fenris - December 2010
Merrill and Sebastian - January 2011
Anders - February 2011

DA2 - March 2011

Ok, I just find it a bit weird that someone so green would be leading the inquisition, especially if they are more seasoned profesionals in the group. I know that in DAO it was the only option, so Maybe it is just the 4 of them at the start, kinda like DAO & they grow from that.

I just checked the PAX info and it says that Mike & Mark will be "introducing" the inquisition so maybe we will have a fiew more answers by the end of it ^_^ And heres hoping GameInformer will have some stuff on the cast as wellB)

Sort of funny how everyone expect Cassandra to be romance-able. I have nothing against it, but storywise it just seems improbable to me. People do realize that she's like 40 when Inquisition start right? She didn't seem to be a cougar or even interested in companionship of that kind in DotS (poor Galyan, he did try). Also, brother-fixation...

By the way, Nevarran native language is Orlesian according to the table top DA RPG backgrounds.

I don't see what her age has to do with being romanceable or not. People don't stop falling in love simply because they reach certain age.

I think Cass being a romance or not depends entirely on the writers. Objectively there's no reason she couldn't be (or it just isn't apparent). :)

Exactly. If people need more prove btw that Cassandra can actually have romantic feelings, she says that its romantic when Hawke beats the Arishok.

Big fan of her (or i wouldn't be here), and i'm not sure if this is mentioned or not, but what she meant as "romantic" is really romanticism, which in that context (of Hawke defeating the Arishok in MANO y MANO) is her doubting/questioning (and perhaps even appreciating) the idealisitc nature of Varric's tale.

That might be it. To my ears her accent certainly did not sound German and at least one German videogame journalist, Heinrich Lenhardt, considered her accent 'sounding French'. But I'll admit that, if it is intended to be French, it sounds a bit 'off', perhaps because the actress (who's English) tried too hard?

Of course, Cassandra and her family name (Pentaghast, I suppose a  'fantasy-ized' version of the Anglo-Irish family name P®endergast) don't sound remotely French, but that's how it is.

If Cassandra starting armor is the one we see her with in the GI screenshot, she's already wearing an "inquisition" armor, she has its symbol on it. Maybe she wanted to re-start the Inquisition following the Chantry falling to pieces (with Varric's help), but the Fade Breach altered her plans and she put the PC in charge because he/she was there when it happened (or she just hate being in charge like Alistair). The group pick-up Vivienne in the same area and off they go with their limited starting resources.

As far as the Inquisitors age, they will probably leave that up to the player to imagine and create with the CC. For me personally it wouldn't make a lot of sense for the Inquisitor to be in their early twenties, since they;re leading the whole operation.

I kind of wish that they showed Cassandra's trench coat in a screenshot, it's supposed to be her iconic look but we only have it in concept arts and fan arts so far...and I'm still wondering you can make a coat fit with the armor like she does.

I hope we can at least craft such an armor for her. It should be possible as long as the trench coat is a part of the armor model and not a separate item.

EDIT: Varric has a coat over his chestplate, so it should be possible to do the same for Cass.

Maybe people that didn't like the changes to Anders will like the development of Cassandra. Anders went in the direction of extremism, which can be seen as a failure to cope.  It seems Cassandra might go in the direction of questioning past beliefs and not going crazy in the process due to an ability to cope.

I never understood why they used Anders. Sure he's the only one who would've made sense with regards to Justice. But they could've just as easily created a new charactor to play that role (without Vengeance).

Awesome:D I know it's early days yet but how do you guys see her development playing out?
What Mike & David said about her douting the Chantry and that her opinions will(may) change with a new understanding of events, do you think her growth will be influenced by the inquisitor & his/her choices? It just sounds to me that the path you take in DAI will affect how Cass & the others change (Or If their origional belifes are strenghtened).

But Don't get me wrong, I don't want the Cast to bend over backwards for the PC, just drop/change all their belifes on the drop of a hat. That would SUCK:pinched: But I'm not worried about it as David said that he hates this approach, I'm thinking this will be more along the lines of Cass & the rest of the Cast REACTING to your CHOICES & BELIFES alot more than in any previous Bioware game which is just fine by me:police:

Anyway, how do you want her Character Development to play out?:wizard:

I hope so! I like that Cassandra learned that lesson by the end of DotS. I hope she still has a bit of a short temper though because that's kind of sexy lol

Well, thanks to that new vid (the one describing how you can send agents to do your dirty work), we can at least assume why Cass is assaulting that fortress in the trailer.

I guess some artist put a little too much of his love for her into his work.

I must confess to having a bit of a crush on Miranda Raison when she was in Spooks (MI5 to Americans)
Image IPB
Those eyes... With short hair she sort of looks a bit Cassandra-like. She certainly kicked ass in that show.

I didn't realise that she had voiced Cassandra until recently. Wherever the accent is supposed to be from, it certainly doesn't sound like her normal voice. I suspect that she just made up a generic "foreign" accent.

Really looking forward to getting to know the character more as a companion.

I am really looking forward to having Cassandra as a companion in DAI. She is such a cool character. She is, in a word, Badass! And I love that. I had no idea that Miranda Raison had voiced her in DA2, which makes me like her even more :) I hope Cass is voiced by Ms. Raison again. It is also my hope that she is romance-able to Female Inquisitors. If she is, she may very well be my canon LI.
