Also, since this is about voices - whenever I hear my voice (echo/recordings/singing) I think it's horrible

I always find it weird when I hear recordings of my voice, because it sounds different to me compared to when I'm talking. Not really self-conscious about it, it just sounds strange to me.UnknownMercenary wrote...
Nothing like listening to your own voice for hours on end in editing software to make you less self conscious about it

People I meet are only hostile or awkwardly silent at the fact I'm a lady (usually) . Not that I go around screaming "I'M A GIRL" but a squeaky "Thanks!" is enough to give me away. Other than that I go out of my way to come off as a dude. I should really go the full nine yards and get a voice changer do-hickey. No one would be the wiser.

And anyway, using your gender to get special cookies is pretty pathetic etc etc.

In my defense, the new name had nothing to do with what's in the OP. It was just an observation since I'm a new girl in N7 ranks:P

My tendancy to play female characters and dress them up in purple gets me the occasional strange comment or offer online...

For the physical equipment or the technical programs? The physical equipment required looks cheap enough.DaemionMoadrin wrote...

Unless you plan to pay good money for a decent voice changer people will realize you're using one, all the free/cheap ones are recognizable as soon as you say more than a few words.
To me it doesn't matter if people are male, female or something else. Why should it?
I prefer to hang out with women - I don't have to deal with machismo and other ridiculous "male" nonsense.
Data7 used Detect Hypocrisy. It's super effective.Data7 wrote...

As for the tech/programs. Hmm, it's the internet. Everything can be 'cheap'.
It matters. You just demonstrated this yourself.
