We're more likely to get this castle (source).

Do remember that was put up when we had the original announcement so it may change, but granted the one in the trailer not secluded enough for the inquisition. I do like that castle in the image Cheylus looks very defensible, if not a little small.

Can't wait to see the upgrades avaliable and i better get my giant war-room map and arm chair for dramatic decision making poses.

I'm hoping for a "customizable" castle, like Suikoden - more allies = more layers/activities.
The castle in Awakening AND the castle in the facebook game may be good hints too :)

Hunh, I'd forgotten about that tweet.

Guess it sorta confirms the player castle was the concept art they tweeted, though plans could still have changed.

(Notice the red flags on the castle; red seems to be a common colour for Inquisition-related areas and clothing we've seen in concept art.)

That's good too, but that's just concept art, right? It could be that was the concept that morphed into the one in the screencap.

Those helmets, though.. Reminds me of all the chicken/rooster knick-knacks and decorations my grandmother has around her house. I could not fight something like that and take it seriously. xD

What i find funny about this image is that people love to point out how they hate Cass's hair (from the back view) and the chicken helmets. Shows a pictures worth a thousand words, and jokes.

On topic however the castle seems at this point to be confirmed as it keeps getting mentioned and it was mentioned since E3 that party gathering in a camp was returning which would work well with a central base(castle).

Why the hell are the arms of those heavy armored dudes completely without protection and left completely vulnerable? Bioware ***?  :pinched:

Bioware designers: armor is made to protect the wearer from injuries, not to look cool. One of the most important parts to protect were the hands and arms of the wearer, if your hand or arm is injured you cant wield your weapon anymore and you are defenseless. You want to avoid that at ALL costs.-
Do your homework *********.

Look at Lorica Segmentarta, or Lamellar armor, or most chain mail, or hopolite armour, they all bare at least part of the arm, because joints are the most difficult and expensive part of armour to make, breast plate, pauldrons, gorgets tassets, greaves and vermbraces can be made to fit fairly easily, but getting the placing of joints in fully articulated armour right is hard work.  For heavy men at arms they have damn good armour actually, better than most medieval men at arms had, not the same complexity and protection as a full harness, but since that represented possibly the most expensive item anyone could buy (comparable to a super car in modern terms)  equipping an entire army as knights is strecthing things.

It's is basically transitional plate armor

Also: Cassandra isn't wearing a studded tabbard, that is most likely Brigandine, the rivets are holding the steel plates in between the layers of leather.

Its good to finally see how the game is looking. Atmosphere is just as important as story, characters, etc and DAI is not dissapointing.

No, that's definitely a studded tabard. You can see it being worn over her brigandine and a leather(?) cuirass.

Ah, I see what you mean now,  rank marks maybe?  Service studs?

Leather would not be to much of  a stretch, thick leather with boiled leather inserts (or just plain boiled leather) Was used as armor sometimes to keep weight and cost down.  It could also be a leather gambeson, would have some disadvantages, in that it would not 'breath' right,  but also would be water proof, so arguablly could work.

We actually made it to page 4 just from 2 screenshots. Speculation!

I really hope the bird helmet gets a bit of a remodel for appearance sake. Even this would be more appealing. :wizard:

The texture quality isn't impressive as I was hoping. They're...acceptable, except for those cups on the table. They look downright low resolution. Or something plastic, which I guess wasn't the intention.
The foliage needs a bit more work on as well.

I like the owls as a representative creature for the Seekers or Inquisition. Owls have very good vision and are deadly silent hunters. They have a reputation for being wise in folklore and native American stories. I think those are good traits for someone who is leading an Inquisition that will change the world.

I'm fine with the armour (its main purpose is to protect the torso and vital organs, not the arms, else it's too heavy) and the helmets (you can actually see through them, even if it doesn't seem possible from the outside).
What I don't like is Cassandra's hair - and Morrigan's, as well -, they seem to follow the same philosophy as DAII "let's paint some paper and glue it on your head".

^Yeah, those plastic - playmobil- hair are really bad. C'mon, Bioware, you can do better than this.

Hearts on her armor and a knife with a fist on the hilt. Those are some goofy decisions.

And I just realized that those men are Inquisitors, not Seekers. Lots going on in that picture.
