The fist seems to be some sort of symbol. There is the one on the hilt of the knife and one to the right of Cassandra holding a half-circle with spikes. The same fist holding the half-circle with spikes also seems to be on the fortress. Also, I don't find the helmets to bad, they're better looking than these helmets.BasilKarlo wrote...
Hearts on her armor and a knife with a fist on the hilt. Those are some goofy decisions.

Compared to DA][ Inquisition's art direction is downright restrained. Dare I say... more adult? I hope we're seeing a trend and not an outlier. Now I just cross my fingers that the Darkspawn don't keep their designs from DA][.

I agree. I liked the Origins Darkspawn. To me they looked more beastly and menacing in Origins than they did in DA2.BasilKarlo wrote...

I know it's been discussed to death, but I still just HATE the Darkspawn redesign. I hate everything about it. My only problem with the Origins Darkspawn was that I felt the Ogres and Genlocks should have shared the Hurlock's rotted skin. The Darkspawn species definitely had a more unified appearance in DA][, but I hated that appearance.

Rotted skin would be nice. To me the Darkspawn in DA2 just looked to human, if anything they were more ghouls than they were Darkspawn. If they don't go back to the Origins design maybe they'll try to use both the DA:O design and DA2 redesign together.BasilKarlo wrote...

I don't know about rotted skin. They should look less like zombies and more like terrible mutated living things.

They literally radiate death and decay. Rotted flesh is more than fitting.
I dunno. Rotted flesh is gross but it just doesn't seem right on something that's not actively dying.

The "half-circle with spikes" is a Chantry symbol. Look at the top of the Denerim Chantry.

The Darkspawn are death. Their very presence kills the land they occupy.

I liked the talking darkspawn with the appearance of DA:O/A. It makes the scenes very strange and interesting.
I don't want to meet talking darkspawn with DA2 redesign... It would feel more... err, ordinary.

If that's the inquisition armour I want a hide armour option as well as a hide helmet option.
Well, you might not even get the Inquisitor armor: in DA:O the Warden didn't even get given Grey Warden armor after the Joining - though you could use stealing to swipe Duncan's helmet from him!
If we are to play as an Inquisitor, then I hope we get the actual Inquisitor armor after joining them this time... then I can decide whether or not I want my character to wear it. Anyway, I like how it looks.

Thanks for catching that. Now I really want to know why a fist would be holding the Chantry symbol, maybe it represents the the seperation from the Chantry.azarhal wrote...

Now that you mention it it does seem like an Exalted March type thing. I imagine the Inquisition will have plenty of violence which could explain the violent look.Eveangaline wrote...

They're taint, that doesn't mean corpse. We already have risen zombies.

There are no zombies in Dragon Age. Walking corpses aren't zombies. Mindless walking corpses that eat human flesh are zombies.

You know, I must say..no, beg..BW please don't use these designs for anything. I mean...wtf is that? Why is that? I don;t even like Cassandra's armor. The symbol thing looks like a cut out piece of paper that was glued on the cloth throw thing draped over her. And hearts, BW? Hearts? What is this, Hello Kitty?
And the guys in the back...LMAO! Wtf? I don't know whether to laugh, or cry. They look like lil chubby chicken ppl. I don't even...

Just. No. I kinda feel like you're trying too hard.
