I want a happy ending or a evil ending, not some BS that makes no sense.

If they mess up save game transfer and I end up with a generic story where dead people show up or former Warden/Hawk romances hit on me.

Having it be anything like ME3.

Gather your army stock main quest.

Tallis being in it in any greater capacity than a cameo.

I am not sure I know yet what may disappoint me. It's a minor thing but if we end up not being able to customize our companions I'll be a tad disappointed (not enough to dampen my overall enjoyment of the game, but still).

I guess my only real fear right now is that there won't be any true advancement under the engine other than prettier graphics because this will also be releasing on current gen consoles. But even then, at the end of the day every Bioware game I've played has brought me great joy so even if it is more of the same, I feel like they'll still deliver a good story and a good gameplay experience.

Probably the castle. It sounds so fun I'm hyping it so much in my head that probably nothing will live up to what I'm imagining.

Although I'm already disappointed we can only be one race, so there's that. Hopefully these will be the only two real disappointments

There really is only one thing that could: the voice of the protagonist. It always worries me. I am not talking about whether the protagonist should be voiced or not, that debate is over, but lordy me if that voice turns out to sound like Geralt in The Witcher (which I still can't finish because his voice repulses me so much and I can't enjoy that character) I will be extremely disappointed.

Hawke and Shepherd were fine though so I have hope.

Expectations: None
·         After DA2, ME3, and SWTOR my faith in Bioware is essentially spent. DA3 will basically be the deciding factor if I am going to continue to care that this company exists. Still in the process of deciding whether or not to cancel SWTOR sub, basically ready to drop these guys.

Disappointment Points:
·         Continuation of Base-Node Restricted Companion Conversations (ala DA2/ME3)
·         ME3 style Non-Interactive Conversations forming a significant portion of companion dialog
·         Further devolution of cRPG aspects including effectively meaningless specializations for the PC or the lack of customization for NPC Companions including gear.
·         Shift towards Mass Effect/DA2 combat cycles which require little to no actual planning or tactics and fail to be challenging in any way.
·         Multiplayer; Any form thereof
·         ME3 or DA2 style "choice"

Absolutely not want to see in DA3
·         A clear moral compass decision from the Devs in the Mage/Templar conflict

"Not in the Game" Disappointment
·         Different Origin (Mayhap) or Race (Not in) Options
·         Arcane Warrior Specialization
·         Attribute/Skill-based Conversation Checks (Loved these in DA:O and TSL)
·         Impactful resolution to the Morrigan/OGB storyline

I'm going to be extremely disappointed if we don't finally get some concrete info on Flemeth and her plans. What is she exactly? What is she trying to accomplish? Why is Morrigan so terrified of her?

AND how does the OGB tie into everything? What happened to my Warden that went through the mirror?

These are questions that have bugged me since DAO, and DA2 did nothing to answer any of them... now, 5 years later, I really hope these loose ends will be tied up.

What would disappoint me about this game? No Alistair, no Anders *cries*

Also:
  • killing off Warden / Hawke
  • no mention of Warden / Hawke
  • little room for creativity when it comes to the protag (like in DA2)

This too. I was so sad when Nathaniel didn't show up and King Alistair didn't refer to me as 'you know who' :(

If goofy over-the-top Dynasty Warriors-looking combat animations make a return I'll be pretty disappointed. That's probably the biggest deal-breaker for me.

The other one is probably roleplaying options getting trimmed down to almost nothing the way they were in Mass Effect 3. From the little we know it doesn't sound like that's happening though.

Basically if it's like DA2 or ME3 (or maker forbid both) with autodialog, essentially a linear railroaded plot, threadbare (at best) journal system, and oh yes, Airborne Templars, then count me out.

Also if it's "One Flew Over the Thedas Cuckoo Clock" like DA2 was, count me out.

Forgot this, and it was truly one of the most annoying things about DA2 and ME3.  Give me a detailed journal with goals and sub-goals!

After DA2 and ME3 I really do hope desperately for the best since I am a huge fan of kotor, jade empire, DA:O and ME1-2 but at this point I don't think my expectations could get much lower.

Multiplayer.

Honestly, and not knowing what happened to the Warden and Hawke. I hate cliffhangers.

The main story. The whole, acient evil behind something that is hinted at is not a story I find easy to be engaged in.

There are only two things I can think of:

1) If gay romances were removed.

2) If Orson Scott Card was involved in the future of Bioware in any way. I was very disappointed when I learned that they'd commissioned him to write a comic series for the setting, and if I thought my money was going to be funding him or anyone like him, that would be the end of Bioware for me.

Those are the only two things I can conceive of that would affect my enjoyment of the game in any significant way, and either one would cause me to stop buying Bioware games.

If whatever the large evil force we have to face isn't worthy.

If we don't get some answers, I will be rather let down. We have a few overarching storylines from both DAO and DA2. Those stories don't have to wrap up, but tangible progress needs to be made.

A main character I cannot get behind. I felt DAO let me customize how my warden responded much more than my Hawke did. I felt more in tune with my Warden than I did with my Hawke. The warden was MY character whereas I felt like I was playing a prescripted character in Hawke.

Repetitive levels/zones.

low replay value. (I have 9 DAO female human/elf mage play throughs of DAO)

companions so consumed by one thing that they become bland or frusterating

If the main protagonist is rigged from the start. If he turns out to be some kind of forced messianic savior figure, and the only way to prevent the World from going to its bitter end is that he has to, symbolically and literally sacrifice himself in some BS pseudo-religious manner.

The most likely omission will likely get blamed on the lighting system of the engine...again. But I've made my peace with that.

I'm sure to be disappointed, but I hope they reconsider introducing a tone toggle mechanic into the dialogue wheel. Now that they have more than a year ( or more ) of development time and far more capable hardware to work with, I would think maybe the tone toggle might be a reasonable avenue to approach refining dialogue the wheel.

I'd be disappointed if cheese wheels failed to make an appearance.

Also I'd be disappointed if there's no ambient dialogue concerning a "mysterious wo/man".

I'd like to see a lot of baked good around the Qunari, without that I'd be sad.

Honestly, I don't expect too much from BW to begin with but a few additional areas of concern:

MP affecting SP - actaully I dont want MP at all (dont mean to sound selfish). I play these games to get away from people.
Poor Ending / Story
Art style
Shallow gameplay / story like Da:2
Morrigan been used poorly like Flemeth in Da:2
