What do you think might disappoint you about DA3?

I think think it'll be more akin to the format of Fable II or Assassins Creed than Skyrim or GTA. Several dynamic open settings, containing many smaller dwellings and dungeons, all inside a greater overworld. Boxes within boxes.

Based on my observation of EA and Bioware over the years and my purchase of a number of their games, especially ME3, I expect DA:I:
1) to have a troll store(typical EA money grubbing)
2) clunky game mechanics(bioware staple)
3) bugs galore(bioware again)
4) end game: bugs galore(EA pulling the plug, leaving a mess behind).

ME3 is an excellent example of this. As a result, I expect to not buy DA:I, even for $10USD because I find any of the above unacceptable being that I've already paid for such "features". Why pay for them again?

But, EAware is free to prove me wrong any time it wants. I wish them the best.

Unlike DA:2, I really want NPC's to recognize that my character is actually a Mage. It just didn't make any sense why Cullen couldn't tell what my PC was after that mission where you're sent to help find the missing Templar.

Hmmm, I'm quite optimistic about DA3. I feel like a lot of the things I want in a game are being looked at.

But nothing is perfect.

Things I expect to be dissapointed about:

1. Bugs. What else is there to say? I would like it to be smooth and bug free, but I expect there to be some bugs. Likely a few major ones, too.

2. "Community" element. I would like this to simply be the same as the last two games, with online profiles and whatnot (perhaps enhanced with the ability to upload/share saved games). But I expect to be saddened with some form of multiplayer shenanigans.

3. Import Continuity. I would love for all of the decisions we made previously to be relevant, big, and important in the next iteration of the franchise. But realistically, I expect it to be mostly cameos, a few minor altered lines of dialogue, and a few small side quests.

EDIT: 4. Lack of quality facial hair.

That they listen to the wrong feedback on the combat.

That the plot ends up being a second rate rehash of Origins.

From what bioware has said I have high expectation but if they actually come through I'm a bit skeptic. I just hope we have awesome companions/romance and we can talk to them more than a few times.

Sorry but we still don't know nothing about the game, how are we supposed to judge?

We can't.
We can only spend our time with idle speculations until it gets here.

There are any number of ways the game might disappoint me.

I prefer not to expect that, however.

I keep expecting Bioware to respect player agency. It's pretty much an unfounded expectation at this point, but I'm not sure I can control it.

So if I end up alone in a room with someone I want to kill and told to do their work for them, for the third game in a row, with no recourse otherwise, I will be disappointed yet again.

ooooh. One of the numbered mods secret identity and all that. Rotfl .
More obvious devolution as we've seen with more combat and less role playing.

It would disappoint me if the game would be made available on the old-gen consoles, since that would mean that their limitations would influence design decisions, which would essentially chop the game off at the knees before it's even out.

Oh, wait.

1. I won't see anything of my Warden or Hawke ever again
That they are just sidenotes in the codex, railroaded into one outcome. That is for example that the Warden who followed Morrigan through the portal just turns out to be dead or something.

2. They continue with the comical, almost childish style of DA2
I loved DAO for its' rather dark atmosphere without taking itself too seriously. Why they suddenly decided it would be a good idea to make everything brighter, clean it all up and work towards anime-animations and characters is beyond me. Though I must admit it does look more promising in the DAI teaser.

3. They repeat this terrible console optimization with an outdated engine for outdated hardware
For its' year of release, DA2 was a mess to look at even with the highest possible resolution of texture mods. I wouldn't want to see that happen again. Make a PC game and tone it down for the consolers, not the other way around.

BSN in a nutshell.

On topic; I would also be dissapointed if they carry on making Alistair a spesul flower. However they have already done this to a ridiculous degree that I'm already fairly irritated about it and Fiona's annoying 'Look how awesome I am at everything' thing going down in the books. She's even worse than Tallis and that's saying something. So yeah, tone down on the "Alistair magic family" thing and I really hope Fiona isn't as annoying as she is in the books if she does show up in DAI.

Also, I want armour for mages. Lack of armour and numerous bathrobes would be dissapointing.

1.) Import Bugs. Import Bugs. Import Bugs. - This is more or less the most important quality of life issue in the way that bioware has been trying to do games recently.

2.) Broken Companion Quests/Speech Triggers - Again major quality of life issue, your interactions with these characters are what makes the RPG part of the story fun, don't make me come how one day and wonder why Merrill is crying over the mirror that I didn't know we had attempted to fix. (I can't remember which scene was out of order there)

3) Fiating every major character being alive to serve plot purposes - Leliana being alive pissed off a lot of people, heck even people who kept her alive because suddenly she had plot armor that not even the player could piece if he cut her head off. (I'd never do such a thing, but I understand the frustration) Obviously all those kind of decisions would be made by now, but for the love of Pete, if possible at least give some passing reference to the choice we made, I'm sure half the outrage over Leliana could've been satiated if the game detected your save said she was dead if when she was presenting yourself and travels with the warden came up she responded with something along the lines of "That heretic son of a **** left me to die for a dragon worshiping cult and only through the glory of Andraste was I saved! Thanks for bringing that up!"

I'm worried that Bioware will pander to the LGBT group and make everyone bisexual. I don't want EVERYONE to fancy my character :( I get enough of that irl heh.

Your second statement is not neccessarily a given result of the first. I believe that it is possible for Bioware to create a system where all LI's are available to all PC characters without trivialising sexuality or breaking character developement.

We'll see how they go.

Prepare for disappointment. Future companions may be 'playersexual' rather than bisexual, but BioWare have shown no indication of returning to the DAO situation where straight PCs get a choice of love interests and gay PCs don't. Thank goodness.
