This is maybe/probably/maybe a weird question...
I've never been much of a PC gamer (any gamer, really) before, but I have an issue with sound that I can't seem to resolve. I'm almost completely deaf in one ear (anyone else would call it fully deaf, but I can hear certain tones) and this has presented a problem I haven't had to deal with before.
I don't know the terminology to define this, so, hopefully, I can bumble and stumble around until someone understands what I am trying to say. I run into issues on games with dialogue that shifts speaker balance depending on the direction of your camera. For example, a conversation between Merrill and Aveline takes place behind my character as I'm running around Kirkwall. Merrill is on my left and Aveline is on my right. I can hear what Merrill says, but Aveline's responses are too faint to make out unless I stop and turn my character around.
I've tried to adjust surround sound settings, but it doesn't seem to work. This isn't an end-of-the-world problem, but I'm hoping for a solution to having to completely stop and shift camera directions in order to follow a conversation, no matter how mundane.
I appreciate any ideas.
