First-time Juggernaut here.  One game.  Gold versus Reapers.  How do you guys do it?  Okay, wait; more specifically -- how do you guys tolerate this kit?

Took a Particle Rifle X, Juggernaut Shield Gear and Cyclonic I (as I was uncertain).  Unless you don't pay attention to its Shields and Health, this guy is practically invulnerable.  Fine, not invulnerable, but damn near unkillable.

But he can't freaking MOVE.  It was like trying to push against a wall. Image IPB

A couple of questions:

1.  If I took Adrenaline Module, would it still be practically unkillable?
2.  Since it can't "run", how do you drop a backpack so a teammate could pick it up?
3.  Turret or Shield Wall?

1. Base defence is high enough as long you don't fall asleep.
2. You don't
3. Preference. You'll probably get more mileage out of turret though.

1. If you're good, you don't need Cyclonics.

2. You don't.

3. Your choice, as is everything in this game

1: yes, but you wont notice a difference in speed anyways so dont bother

2: i dont think you can

3: i max both. turret for shields, wall for offense

if I grab the backpack, i keep spamming my turret ahead of me for quick shield regen, and spam my wall as i walk along to guard my back. it actually doesnt take as long as you'd think.

Use the Batarian Gauntlet Melee build is fun as hell.

I'd rather get sync-killed every wave with the Krolord than play the Geth Sloth. However, playing a Krolord with a juggy, now that's the cat's meow.

1. Pretty much.
2. Getting killed is the only option I know of.
3. If a jugg puts up a shield I destroy it myself since they usually get put in between me and whatever I'm trying to kill.

Doing 200 jugg waves was pure torture for me.

1. Of sorts, the trick is knowing when to melee and when to keep shooting.
2. Just haul your bacon over to the LZ. Strafe backwards at an angle to get the best speed.
3. I personally went with the shield only to stop missiles, ravagers, and any long range explosives really that can be a danger to juggs.

My personal thoughts: I basically made him into a sniping tank. Javelin X with Talon X. HVB and spare ammo on javy, melee and heavy barrel on the talon. On a Javelin X with the spare ammo mod, max spare ammo in the passives, will net you 32 shots in the reserves at rank X. If anyone knows the numbers at the lower levels, feel free to add your input as I don't remember them off the top of my head. Also a nifty trick to remember is if you're having trouble locking onto an enemy for the heavy melee drain, tap your melee button for the light melee and they will get staggered then you should be able to lock onto them. This is especially useful for those hunters and phantoms.

That's a myth. Its a deception caused by camera angles.

I try to melee as little as possible, and use Spitfire and Reeger.
I use Cyclonic IV, adren seems to not do much.
I would probably go 3 on HEX and 5 on Turret. Hex I find is a real pain for other players, unless it's during objectives.
I also try to not stand still as he can get overwhelmed easily.

1. Cyclonic Modulator IV makes him truly unkillable. Remember increased max shield also helps your shield charge rate/SV OP pack effeciency. You don`t need AM if you have good long range weapon. (Crusader + Omniblade is really good on GJ)

2. Teammates always have option to stay near GJ. If they go out there and die, there is nothing you can do and you should not care. It`s there choice to stay near GJ. GJ has no option to keep up with them relocation wise.

3. No matter what you do, make sure there is at least 3 evo put in the turret. It`s good distraction + support tool. Shield is not bad for little extra area damage + challenge points.. but in team game I cannot be sure if it`s helping the team or not.

Playing with (or in some cases, versus) 3 competent players using agile characters in a Large Map/Reapers/Gold is potentially tedious. The Jug is too damn slow. Adrenaline Module makes a tiny difference.
I prefer smaller maps. I don't use him on U/U. The largest map I used him on was Giant (lol), but I never had a bad game.

My play style is Prime with Incendiary Ammo > Siege Pulse. Rinse and Repeat. It is a ton of fun. He shines in a Platinum Tech Team, particularly with Snap Freezers. Cryo and Fire explosions non-stop. I use the Reegar on him, I am cheap. It simply suits the Juggy too damn well if you go caster.

Most players use him as a slow arse weapons platform. Some do pretty well, but that play style is not for me and I can't help if that is what you have in mind.
Also, everyone hates Hex Shield. Nobody complains about a healing Turret, so the choice here is obvious.

The Juggernaut is great. I totally topscored in my last game with him. He's also really fast with an Adrenaline Mod III. I was the first one to pick up the pizza, carried it to the landing zone on london and protected it with my life.

Try the Spitfire for extra dakka.

The Juggy is way too slow for my taste though, I can't use it when gaming at night because I'd fall asleep.

1. If I took Adrenaline Module, would it still be practically unkillable? Try it. Adrenaline modules are better reserved for a Fury or a Valkyrie though.

2. Since it can't "run", how do you drop a backpack so a teammate could pick it up? The only way I know of is dieing.

3. Turret or Shield Wall? Why not both?

Adrenaline module III>cyclonic I or II

I'm starting to think that a dual turret and shield build would work great depending on your weapon choice. Choose the one that better compliments your playstyle. If you have a light load-out with a long range weapon, take both the shield and turret. If you focus in melee(which is pretty stupid), the shield is a must.

Shield is very helpful if you're ever soloing.

Umm. People will poop on me for my build but whatever.

SP spam ftw. Use hex only to protect yourself when you are about to get downed and there's no enemy in melee range but be courteous of your squad. Remove the hex shield as soon as your own shields are good enough. Phantoms are poo for the entire squad. Heavy melee phantom only for a second if teamates are distracted and SP it to death. If the squad is focused on the phantom then full duration heavy melee for the squad to get easy aim/negate phantom bubble of denial.

Adrenalin is pointless for the most part on the juggernaut, other characters ability to sprint means he will only win the races they allow him to, any enemy you would want to run from is slow enough for him to avoid already, other than the possible exception of brutes and praetorians, but even they can't keep up to you well enough to bring their lethal claws to bare enough to kill you if you do it properly,

Despite what some people would tell you the juggernaut is one of the best classes to carry objectives, he loses nothing, while all the little kits and the warlord are vulnerable if they don't use sprinting and will be annihilated crossing open areas, walking is the juggernauts thing, the speed penalty of the backpack (which he is exempt) means only a select handful of kits can move faster with the pizza even with adrenalin,

Both his powers are utilitarian in nature and depend entirely on how you want to play them, a well used hex shield is worth more than the turret, but one that is used badly can kill an entire game faster than most of the things you can do other than nothing,

I find the kit to be fun, but not my personal favorite, I prefer for kits that can destroy all enemies with their bare hands rapidly and brutally (krogan, batarian, WARLORD, cabal, shadow, etc.)

Hey, I was there for that game. Thought I recognized your name from here. Think I also played another couple of games with you a few days ago.

Anyway, I don't have a ton of experience with the Jugg, but I know what I like.

1 - I always use an Adrenaline Module. I've got what, 4600 shields with 40% DR? I only get gated if I'm playing like an idiot. And when I do, there's another 2000 or so health with that same DR as a buffer. Gives plenty of time to pop an Ops Pack or find a melee target. Cyclonics are overkill. Shield Power Cells are nice, but not as nice as being able to move. Power Amps are only useful for a Siege Pulse spam build. Efficiency and Stabilization Modules are just as useless as they are with anything else.

2 - You don't drop it, but if you don't have to cross the entire map to get to it and nobody wants to run it, there isn't a much better carrier than the Jugg. Isn't really any slower than any other character walking it and you can just wade right through everything.

3 - I go with an offensively specced Hex Shield, but I don't find myself using it much. Might be better off with the turret. I haven't tried it yet, but I don't think one is objectively better than the other. Personal preference.

- Always bring a reegar carbine.
- Adrenaline mod is unnecessary. Even with it, your mobility will be hampered on larger maps.
- On bigger maps, instead of trying to follow your team mates or trying to follow enemies to every little corner of the map, it is better to find a central location, a vangtage point with long sightlines. That way you can influence the entire map, and draw enemies towards you from everywhere.
- Do NOT do melee unnecessary.
- Do use melee against phantoms and banshees, but make sure that the fighters around you are your teammates and not the enemies because pugs forget that during the heavy melee attack, he juggernaut is just as much stuck and vulnerable as the heavy melee victim.

Dunvi's host is brutal. Or my connection, dunno. I was lagging really badly. The enemies were rubber-banding all over the place and I constantly got stuck on frames for up to 3 seconds. Most of the time my Adas wouldn't hit anything and it's a goddamn homing weapon, lol.
