Jugg is great imho.
Always take adrenaline III, if you don't have level III then take what you like most...+25% speed is really noticeable.
Also a Juggernaut with 40% DR and 4600/2300 is nearly invincible even on platinum, provided that you don't melee all the game or try to pick up hunters in a laggy game, reegar carbine is required aswell as a mid/long range gun (PPR or typhoon) with AP/incendiary/warp rounds for the best result.

Spam siege pulse (spec for damage or radius, DR and 4 shots) while you wait for the PPR to recharge at mid/long range and grab someone for a few seconds every 2-3 reegar clips to drop them to the ground and make them stop shooting at you.

Large hex shield (with shock evolution rank5) is better than turret imho, can cover an entire firing lane during a hack or an escort and can do nice tricks with phantoms (if you grab her and then you throw her INTO the shield she will die in 2-3 seconds by the hex shield, even on platinum) and others unarmored mooks, even if I think it's a bug, also shock evo can cause tech bursts with your siege pulse, and would come in handy if you are surrounded by a lot of enemies (and tech bursts have a huge aoe).

For last if you pick the package you can't drop it unless you die, as others already said you.

There are at least 3 other Juggernaut threads where all this has been discussed ad infitum. Just look for them ... I'm too lazy to post "how I play Juggernaut" again. :P

Playing the Juggy used to make me very sleepy until I started bringing a Spitfire. I think the screenshake somehow helps keeping me awake. Also as everyone suggested, I just fire my weapon unless I have to tank, which I can't do for a very long time anyways for fear of death by boredom. I don't remember how I specced him and never bothered changing it, haha !
I like that his prime pulse thingie detonates techsplosions every time so it's another occupation that prevent my mind from wandering off. I use hex shield to stun little buggers while I shoot the banshees (or more often to block my team mates fire, granting me more kills).

Oh and don't play him on lag if you want to tank because it makes his heavy melee buggy as hell.

I have basically two different Juggernaut builds I use:

One is the defensive, bullet sponge build. You're to be the aggro magnet. Just stay in the open, draw enemies in and stay alive. Deploy Hexshield behind you to prevent enemies from attacking you from behind, or if no enemies present in that direction, use the Hexshield as soft cover if the front gets hairy. Healing Turret keeps you and nearby allies alive. Heavy melee for shield recharge if necessary. If you have a hardhitting weapon (like the Javelin X in my build) then you can even do some good damage.

The alternative, offensive build omits the majority of the Juggernauts survivability capacities for more direct damage potential. Basic procedure is launch Turret at enemy, then fire Siege Pulse to detonate FEs, then mob up straddlers with your weapon of choice (here GPSG because of less weight and melee attachment availability). Since your turret is geared for damage you need to use the heavy melee a lot more to keep yourself from getting shot up badly.

It's a good kit, and I don't see how some people don't see that

1 Just a litle buff to speed, you can use it or loose it...your pick
2 You can't
3 A little bit of both (personally I prefer the big hex)

I play the jugg a lot if I'm in a weak pug. I use a shield-free build ( flame turret ) and never use seige pulse - just have it for damage reduction. Weapon is spitfire with eb and pen mod, incendiary ammo 3. I will spam the turret just ahead of me as I constantly move toward the larger enemies.

for armor mods I use shield power cells on gold, cyclonic 4 on platinum, survivor gear ( 9 ops packs ).

For a gun rail gold = targeting vi, plat = assault rail 3.

The good thing about this tank is that you can't get knocked off the disable 4 device by a brute or other enemy, so sometimes he can easily get those difficult devices that sometimes leads to a fail on platinum.

The best setup we had was a jugg to draw the large enemies and a bubble justiciar to place the bubble over the jugg's position and then explode all the things :)

I only play him when I have Adrenaline Mod III's & I use all of them on this character (can't see the point on characters that are already fast like the Fury?)

I just have a PPR on him. Spec'd 3 points into hex shield, 5 into turret, maxed out everything else. Siege pulse spec'd for DR and number of shots, fitness spec'd for shields (derp), and passives spec'd for weapon damage.

Just watch out for Ravagers, Scions, and Geth Primes on open maps. Good luck if you get Rio lol

A well played Jugger is a great team mate. A badly played Jugg is a friggin nightmare. I had a game the night before last with the worst Jugger i had ever seen. He went down constantly, faster than the rest of team that had squishy team mates.

How I play the Juggy now:
3 points in hex shield, maxed out healing turret, siege pulse (with 4 shots of course), Hardened Platform for full durability, and got the points for hex shield from not maxing out the Geth Juggernaut tree. Use a collector SMG cause it's light (on him anyways), infinite ammo, with incendiary III/IV and the ammo and power mod, with the Acolyte as backup. I always take Stronghold Package V as gear, use a Power Amplifier Module III/IV with SMG Rail Amp III/IV, and siege pulse everything. Works bloody wonders on Platinum. I find it's an all-round balanced build that routinely places me 1st or 2nd every game.

Cheers~

The secret to top scoring with the Jugg is to spam Siege Pulse. Which you can do if you weapon encumbrance is anything above -20% (so a Spitfire is actually fine).

Siege Pulse is actually quite overpowered because it has inherent damage bonus vs. defenses, and one of the highest Damage/Cooldown ratio of any non-Grenade power in the game. And it CC's any humanoid enemy. So yeah, try using Siege Pulse.

Thanks, guys.  Sucks that it can't drop the backpack.  And of course I went with Siege Pulse all the way (Damage - Damage Protection - Number of Shots).  My turn to troll the A.I. with Prime Cannon stunlock goodness.  And it's spammable too!  The 3 ranks on Hex Shield and 5 on Turret sounds like a good idea.  I'll re-spec to that.

I never use cyclonics on him. For more survivability, use adrenaline 3 and keep moving backwards. I always use adrenaline. You still have to be cautious, you're not invincible. Platinum primes will absolutely destroy you on open maps like ghost and hydra.

I used to spec the shield, but now I never use it. It's useful, but you don't need it. Instead I go with the turret. The turret is mostly useless, but it does recharge your shield by 100 every 30 seconds or so.

Play him as a weapons class. I hate people who heavy melee everything. I might do a couple of melees in a game, but that's it. I don't play him as a support character, I go full offensive, lone wolf, Rambo, I let the pugs die. I go wandering around the map destroying everything. Always keep moving. Always. That's the key.

I like the reegar on him as a main weapon. I also like the particle rifle, scorpion, venom, lancer, typhoon and hurricane. Not the harrier.

this but 6 in turret with flamethrower and 5 in passive.  The turret flanger helps with fire explosions and to deal with far off ranged foes (ravagers).

PPR or Crusader. Both with Hvy Barrel and Omniblade.  Even on gold a shotgun omniblade Hvy melee will kill most medium level opponents in one application.   The crusader hits like a beast!

Use the Batarian Gauntlet Melee build is fun as hell.

lol i did this with 3 people off here (cant remember who  ), we picked glacier to make sure the map was small enough that 4 juggernauts can get to objectives in time. No weapons used except batarian melee for almost entire match. was kinda silly :wizard:

they have been said but...
2 best builds of him imo:
siege pulse spam. mmmmmnnnn, love its salty meaty goodness w/ cheese on top.

or
bulky weapon platform.

he dose have a larger spare ammo and weapon damage passive then batarians. and has stability passives like a turian.
and yes, it is fun to get him to have over 9000 shields, put a spitfire on him and role play as a tf2 heavy.
Image IPB
very fun indeed.

You can't drop the backpack. So you'll carry your team to glory...slowly...

Adrenaline mods are a waste on the character, imo. I save them all for my Drell and Vorcha. Also, please tell the PUGs who die a lot while playing the Juggernaut how invincible he is because I'm pretty sure they could teach you a lot.

Adrenal works fine. You will not outrun other players but you will be better at changing position, escaping trouble and covering objectives.

Fo reels!  Like others have said, combine the Seige pulse, with the flame turret, and grab a fool, hold em in the flame, and seige pulse em' at point blank (allow them to get flame primed between each pulse).  Siege pulse is just incredible with it's stagger effect, and tracks well at range.  Add to that some incendiary rounds on yer gun, and more splosions!!!

A quick recharge on SEIGE pulse will let you fire 4 fast, and still get yer DR back when needed.

I do PPR (or typhoon) and piraña (or cheese reggar), stronghold V and shield cell, no turret at all passive for defense, exa shield for stunt and extra damage, siege pulse for defense.

Tank all the things except pretorian, PPR for afar, piraña for close, if my shield is below 20% melee for recharge, rinse and repeat...

Good for plat...

The pizza actually will make your char walk faster.... Try.... And you do not get stunt lock while carrying most of the times...
