Hello All!
Awesome game, but...
I am crashing to desktop every 10-15 minutes of play. Tried the patches, updated all of my PC drivers, adjusted settings from super low-end to super high-end and everything in-between.
Crashes happen 95% of the time when a cut-scene or dialogue is about to start. Coincidence?
I have a P4 2.8 with 1GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce 7800GS, SB Audigy 2 platinum, windowsXP.
Any ideas out there?!
You guys rock.
You're cpu is below minimum spec, and your ram is right at the minimum, that might be part of the problem.
I had the same problem with the cut scenes. I think there's an issue with the implimantation of sound - try turning off the dialogue and the music. That worked for me, though obviously it's a bit of a sterile experience. I don't think it's actually crashing - it's just hanging while the sound system works itself out, but windows thinks it's broken, so you could try turning off error reporting, though you may find yourself with a lot of time on your hands in cutscenes. What I've noticed is it'll hang for a minute, then rush through the rest of the cutscene, as if it's trying to catch up with itself. To be honest the whole game has been pretty poorly QA'd, and really shouldn't have been let out of the stable until it was sorted. Pretty miffed as I paid full whack to get it ASAP - I think a lot of people feel like Bioware is taking us for granted.

Runtime Error!
Program D:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\DAOriginsConfig.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
And it closes it automatically.
Second problem is about DLC's. I got Stone Golem and Blood Armor via the game box, I did redeem the codes and downloaded those contents without any problem but the game doesn't installing the content. It says only "Install failed." below the download bar and so on.

Is there a problem because I'm running vista 64 bit version?
I have more than enough hardware to run all the latest games except this one.
Anyone have any solutions?

I've got Polish Version.
My game crashes 75% times when changing locations and my recent save files are also corrupted so when trying to load the game crashes again.
I've installed patch 1.01b - the situation is all the same.
Also I've experienced graphic bugs (textures, colors) from about Ilshan Tower.
I've searched and applied few proposed here solutions, without positive effect.
I am starting to be annoyed as I'm fan of Bioware's rpg games I expect help - and as I can see this is not only my problem. Please respond, or better fix the problems in incomming patches.
Regards.

I'm running a Vista 32-Bit system with an AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core 6400+, 2 Crossfired ATI HD3870 graphics cards, and 4GB of RAM and it consistantly crashes once I get to certain points in the first forest of the game (I keep having to manually restart my PC). It seems to be consistant, and I've tried for hours to change different things and try different fixes. Nothing seems to work, I think it may be a software problem. I have yet to play longer than an hour into the game and it's getting frustrating because I really want to play it. Maybe there needs to be a new patch?
If anyone has any input on this problem, it'd be appreciated.

I hope this is the right place to post.
During the big battles towards the end (The seige, and the battle with the Archdemon, mainly), I have experienced major delay in actions.
It's not a FPS issue, as my compy keeps chugging along smoothly. Not a hitch, even on maximum settings (Though I have since turned it down to minimum to hopefully help with this problem)
Allow me to give an example from the Archdemon fight, as it has been unplayable, as I'm not quite sure how to describe this.
Everything goes smoothly until the Archdemon runs to hide and darkspawn start spawning. I can move, allocate attacks and so on, but there is delay in the animation and the action being executed and the result.
To be even clearer: I will charge in, and attack. I will hit visually and get the sound of blade hitting metal & flesh. The darkspawn will take no damage, and hit me back for a tiny amount. I hit him again, sound and visual, nothing yet. After about six blows, the damage from the first attack goes through. All this time, the darkspawn has been damaging me consistently. So it's only my and my parties attacks which have the delayed results.
Then, maybe, I will cast Cone of Cold. I will get the casting animation, hitting several, but none will freeze and they all keep running by. 12 or so seconds later, if a darkspawn happens to walk through the zone where the spell was cast, he will take damage.
Because I will have taken damage by this point, I may need to heal. I will quaff a potion. It takes about 20 seconds from the animation of me drinking and the green numbers appearing above my head for the heal to go through.
The delay is making the game unplayable. I can't even beat the Archdemon on Easy.

I tried to call your help line, which lied to me about the wait times, then connected me to an agent who had never even seen the game. He suggested my CD was faulty, despite the game installing without reporting any error.
I then logged a call via email, on the 11th. I was told to expect a response within 24 hrs. No response.
Following your inspired announcement that 'the game has been so successful that we can't cope with the number of faults being reported' (paraphrased) - I logged a second call asking.
After five days I got an 'answerbook' response saying my drivers were out of date - they weren't. Having done more tests I posted yet more info on Sunday. So far, all I have is an acknowledgement that the proposed solution didn't fix my problem.
Calling Helpline is clearly pointless, or at best a complete lottery. So far I have seen no more than 10 minutes work by support in 10 days. This is unacceptable.
As a software professional, specialising in product support, I would have resigned by now if my service was so shoddy. If you wish to learn something about providing quality service, please contact me privately. I WILL respond within 8 working hours.

It's been a few days since I posted my problem BioWare.... This thread has yet to see head or heel of any staff-member, regarding the SEVENTEEN... EFFING... PAGES of problems being posted here... We'd like some freakin' feedback guys. And no, we don't want feedback from EA, we want feedback from YOU, even if it's about EA.
My suggestion? Put in a requisition with EA to get your own Tech Support team for your games. Small operation, doesn't need to be huge, just a few guys who know the games and know how to go about fixing problems within the games. They may get HUNDREDS of requests for help, but if YOU, meaning BIOWARE, picks the guys, those 3 or 4 guys you hire will be around 3000-4000 times better than EA's entire Tech Support staff, and hell, they could even be some of the same guys who worked on the game, maybe guys who need some extra time outta the house or just really really like their jobs. Just do SOMETHING. It sounds needy and clingy and stupid, but damnit, ACKNOWLEDGE us, let us know SOMETHING is going on over there or on EA's side... Crimony, you guys couldn't have picked a worse time to crawl into a hole and play the "If we ignore it it'll go away," card.

Reinstalled the game without patches, everything works fine again, no crashes. Maybe it worth a shot.
Makes me remember the Mass Effect patches. I surely hope my favourite game developing company doesn't plan to make a habit of it.

I started by talking to Dulin and agreeing to fight in the provings. Then I talked to the other person and I did the quest to deliver the two letters. I then tried to talk to Vartag and he seemed to be mad about me fighting in the provings and he won't talk to me at all. I noticed that after this the quest I had for the provings was marked as completed and it said I had failed. I went ahead and fought in the provings hoping I could proceed but after I beat everyone nothing happens I've talked to everyone and I can't seem to continue with this quest.
I unfortunately don't have an earlier saved game to fall back on so it looks like I can't proceed.
If this is truly unable to be resolved in game then something needs to be done immediately, like releasing a hotfix. I'd hate to start over again after investing so much time in my current character. If anyone could offer any other help though it would be greatly appreciated.
