I paid 15 dollars for an NPC who doesn't talk. AND NO ONE can tell me why. Bioware or EA hasn't even come close. And I've seen people on gamespot posting about this issue. It's not just me. OTHER PEOPLE PAID 15 DOLLARS FOR AN NPC THAT DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING. I must've right clicked him a hundred times now trying different things.

AFAIK, Bioware always split out support from their public forums, and the "Tech Forum" style here in DA:O is the same type that they have always offered, but I've never been a steady enough gamer and message forum member that my memberships ever reached four years old before the combination of forgetting my password and changing my ISP forced a new registration.Lothinator wrote...
So whose bright idea was it to have no support on the Technical Support forum??? At least some official
reps here could control the extremely negative image that is developing
due to issues that aren't solvable by "user forums" since they are REAL
GAME ISSUES.

This game causes my computer to totally power off without warning every 5 minutes or so if I dont save, does anyone know any solutions?
What power supply do you have? Does it have enough current to overcome a loss of efficiency as it gets warm? What temps are your CPU and GPU running at?

First if you do the live chat it will kick you out after wating over 40 minutes and you're the next one to go.
Next, they say they will get back to you in 24 hours when you email them, but they go week(s) without response...and am still waiting.
Their site links you back to this site for additional info. So this is the official support as it's the only support from EA or Bioware available.

I am having a problem with starting anything. I am running Windows 7 pro 64 bit on a hp laptop with a quad core centrino and a geforce 9200 video card. game installs and starts but the only problem I seem to be having is that I can not see the mouse pointer(sword) on the screen. I can move the mouse around and the menus light up as it passes over them. have patched the game to 101b, reinstalled all my drivers unistalled/reinstalled game and still the same thing. If i minimize game the mouse pointer shows up as a sword on my desktop.
This game requires a video card, and you don't have one. The 9100, 9200, and 9300 are just chips, and not much good at game playing. You'll need a different laptop, one intended to play games on (more expensive that the average laptop because of the actual video card in it).

Hey just got the game installed and i can't see any words on the menu screen or anything anyone know how i can fix this?
You probably cannot, until you upgrade either to a more recent, Maniline (n600) video card, or a newer PC entirely.

Yep. I sure did. I still do. It crashes every single time when I try to approach Duncan and the King at the meeting table after the Grey Warden (or something like that) ceremony. Are there any fixes to take care of these crashes? I am using version 1.01b and all my drivers are up to date, so I can't see where the problem could be.

My new workstation was doing the same thing; I had just put together a Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 400w PSU, with a 1TB 32mb Cache HDD; the only old thing in the unit was my Video Card.
I found that my whole workstation would shut off 5-10 minutes into the game; no I'm not OC'ing. I found that my temperatures were perfectly in normal ranges, and the only error I had was an ATI ACEE error.
It turns out my Video Card finally crapped out on me.
So, I got a 600w PSU and a Nvidia GTX260.
I'm in heaven now. That was my fix.
I'd say - any errors in the event log? Are you fully updated on windows? Do you have .NET 3.5 and the VCRedist with all updates?
Post with further info please.

A friend of mine is suppose to bring me by his old copy of xp 64 bit since he doesn't use it anymore, hopefully it'll work just as well on there but with me getting my full 8 gig of ram.
Also while on Win 7 64(SATA HD) when in game the lag happens when the cores tend to "stall" not sure that is the right word but thats what it seems like they do they just faulter at around 50-55% useage when the game usually runs it at 66-78% useage when it first loads and runs great (for 5min). But when I run the game on Winxp 32 (ATA) it still runs at about 66-78% and runs beautifully and stays at that rate and playability, the %'s don't "stall out" or w/e is happening in Win 7. Really hate having to go back 2 Steps on my OS I mean wtf did i just spend $200+ for win7 for.
So this brings up another question...everyone was blaming the game for the problems, could it just be vista and win 7 having issues? Also both HD's are Seagates.
Lucky for me I have a 2nd hard drives and dual monitors so it makes doing this a little easier.
