Crashes to Desktop upon save game restore and/or crashes to desktop upon leaving Chantry in Lothering. Disabling sound in the configure menu remedies the problem, but I'm not going to endure a soundless game.
System:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 with 11/28 drivers (latest) with Direct X 9.0c
Realtek HD Audio Output
4 Gigs RAM
Windows XP SP 3
Again, if I disable the sound, the game seems to work, although I have not endured extended playtesting sans sound.

It started one week after i'd started to play Dragon age.
Every short period of time(from 3-5 minutes to 10 sec) Fps falls from normal to 3-5 frames, practically slide-show. After 5-10 second it stops and i can get back to game till next "lag", because its really looks like i-net "spike" when u don't receive answer from the host.
Is it what people call "the game freezes"?
The problem appears only on my lap-top(which is practically brand new, ofc it fits minimal settings, even the maximum). It is very wide(16:10), i've patched the game - no result, I've downgraded ATI drivers - it became even worse. Setting minimal settings doesn't help ofc. There is no viruses on my PC. I have vista, but 4gb memory
Whats strange, on my home PC(which is very old) the game works slowly, but there is no such a problem with "freezing".
I don't know what to do. I've tryied almost everything and still cant find a way to fix it,
I beg you to help me, please, Dragon Age is the game of the year for sure, maybe one of the best games ever. And its practically unplayable for me.

out how i am supposed to redeem/download the DLC's and armor pieces
that is from the deluxe pack. i've redeemed one of the codes in the
¨redeem promo code¨ tab, the other bottom key without the dashes(-)
doesnt work, and i dont know what it is for.
anyways, the top
key seems to have done the trick, and shows me that i have all the
things from the deluxe pack redeemed in the ¨your registered game
promotions¨ tab as shown in the picture below.

But when i try to download my redeemed content i see nothing in the downloadable content thingie in-game, why is this? ._.

If I select activate golem, it re-activates the stone prisoner quest.
Any fix for this?

For the second "No Text" comment above, if the menus have no text, it is because your video card cannot handle shaders normally, and shader code is being used to draw the menu.
Only the six year old nVIDIA Geforce FX generation of defective video cards have exhibited that behavior, and that is an unsupported POS family of crap cards. Sorry. The warning label on the box has the official minimum covered there.

1. Disabling ATI HD Audio in Device Manager (I have a sound card, and also can use onboard sound anyway)
2. Turning off Catalyst AI in CCC.
I did not have to underclock, turn off any in-game audio features, disable anti-aliasing, etc. Playing on absolute max settings.
I'm not sure which of the two solutions above (or maybe it was both) fixed the crashing for me, but I was just so happy things got resolved that I didn't bother going back to figure out which one did it for me.
Note: I did not have the Ostegar crashing problems that many people had, so this solution may not solve that particular error, only random crashing at frequent intervals.

My guess is that I'll either have to wait for a patch, or demand a refund for this unusable product if it drags on much longer with no word.

In a nutshell (I posted the identical concern on this forum (on page 25) about which I had received commentaries from EA support back on 25 November) ... don't bank on DLC. No update other than "it is being worked on" has been made available to me. Play the game without logging in, and enjoy it in its raw state, and don't get frustrated over having purchaswed points to get Warden's Keep or the Stone Prisoner, because likely as not these will suffer the same fate ... totally unworkable. Bite the bullet, you've wasted your money (actual cash maskerading as EA "points"). and SWEAR NEVCER TO DEAL WITh EA PRODDUCTS AGAIN.
By the time a cumbersome overbearing corporation gets that message it is usually too late and it will have lost a significant portion of its customer base.

I have tried uninstalling the toolset, uninstalling and re-installing the game and deleting all the folders in
my documents\\bioware\\dragon age. None of this worked.
Can anybody tell me how to fix that?? Right now the game is unplayable.

1. Bioware is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of EA
2. Distributor contracts are tied to support; their profits are more related to volume of sales than is the profit that the developer gets selling the product to the distributor.
3. Bioware has always done it this way, while I have paid attention to them (NWN-onward, I suppose. In the days when Black Isle was a going concern, I wasn't paying attention to Bioware, and Bioware had no forums of their own. Back then, there was only one "Gorath" semi-active on Black Isle's forums, I didn't have time for frequent visits, but no one else had pre-empted my use of the handle).

Ok, so I had ran into teh same problem....zoning issues and I could not begin a new game.
I too had these problems after using the toolset....I think the solution to that issue is this...
When runnin the toolset, it creates a file called "single player". You need to go into MyDocuments/Bioware/DragonAge/Modules - and then rename the 'single player' folder....you can name it "single player2" if you want...just rename it (i think you can simply delete it as well, but I just renamed mine in case I found out I needed it later).
After doing this your issues should be resolved, you should be able to begin a new game and zone normally.
Hope this helps guys...if you have any questions just message me about this, although I can only walk you through what I did, I am no expert.
