That occurs due to video problems. Your drivers are wrong, or you have a video card that cannot handle the required sm3 pixel shaders correctly. Do you have a Geforce FX?
If not, fill this in.
Preliminary diagnostic information
PCs are not *anything* at all like game console systems. There is almost nothing that is truly "standard" between various branded PCs, making the game developers' jobs very difficult, and resulting in warning labels attached to game boxes for those games that have serious requirements.
In case you have misunderstood how to evaluate your PC compared to that game box label, we have to start from here. Fill it all in.

After you've completed the game the only places you can go are your camp, Warden's Keep and the village of Honnleath. Since both Warden's Keep and Honnleath are DLC, if you don't have them installed you won't be able to leave camp.MARLIBO wrote...

Your video drivers appear to be quite elderly. Have you been to ATI's download page to get more recent ones? If new drivers don't do it for you, go to Microsoft and get new Dx9 drivers. and if those don't fix this for you, reinstall the ganme itself as a last resort.Teufelhunda wrote...

P. S. Are you sure you responded to the correct comment in this thread? It's not been that long ago, and I associate your handle with a complaint about the screen going black, not about the text in the menus being missing.

I finally find the 1.02a patch, which was a he!! trying to find.
And I install it, now my game won't work at all.
After installing the new patch it says:
Monitor is runnning out of range
What the heck, it was working 5 minnutes ago prior to installing this patch.
I'm about to throw this game out in the snow and let it rot !

This is more related to your video card's drivers fouling up. However, the new patch may have advertently caused the driver to snap.

My DVD key doesn't work. When I entered the code in the installer it said that it was invalid. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks.
Contact bioware or get a replacement immediately. Tell them that you can't use the serial number. Just bring your copy and receipt with you.

Did you answer anywhere what BRAND of power supply you have? It is very important, with a video card that draws the kind of power that yours does.Teufelhunda wrote...
Yeah my screen going blank is my problem. I've tried to install new drivers but I keep getting failed installs. I formated my HD last night, and I'm going to finish everything up today. Maybe that will fix it.
There's no answer in your separate message thread on the problem:
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/458574
There are about a dozen brands of PSUs that are dependable for quality. I had six memorized at one time, but now I can only name five, sorry: Enermax, Fortron, OCZ, PC Power & Cooling, and Sparkle (which is another Fortron brand). .
There's no way that I can connect your problems with any requirement to reinstall Windows, only with power problems.

The game has been running perfectly until now when im trying to get out of Lothering. I have done all the quests and the only thing left to do is leaving Lothering.
But when im trying to change area (Area Transition) nothing happens. I cant click to get out of Lothering. What am i supposed to do? I know i am trying to get out at the right place, so that's not the problem.
I've read the forums but all issues are based on them having a mod or similar. I feel extremely annoyed at the moment because i want to continue playing. Please help me
