Where to Find *Official* Dragon Age: Origins PC Game support

"An error occured applying the 1.02 update to your version of Dragon Age: Origins. [36]"
And in a seperate window, there is a black box with green writing that says:
"Running External Installer for 'RT Patch'... This may take a few moments -36"
Any ideas what this is? The green status bar at the top stops at around a fourth of the way through and doesn't go any further.
I have tried to find help on the forums but I don't want to uninstall the entire game for fear that I will screw it up even more. I would really like to play the Return to Ostagar section. Can anyone help me?

My game dies all the time, it shuts down and the infamous Windows Pop-of-doom window appears (Send, Don't send etc, and as we all know pressing Send is just a fake way of Microsoft showing that they really care.) and then I'm back at my desktop.
I got the latest drivers for my graphic card and I think I got the latest drivers for my AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual as well... however here is my hardware:
Amd Athlon 64 X2 Dual 5600+ 2.91 Ghz, 3.25 GB RAM
Nvidia Gefore 9600 GT, 512 mb
I would really appreciate if someone can answer this, please!
EDIT:
Oh and I do have the latest patch for the game.

@ Cais76, if you are using vista or windows7 then the probably may be very easy. Save the patch .exe file onto your computer, instead of clicking on it to launch it, right click on it and click "Run as administrator" and wait for it to install, let me know if this works or not.
Nope. I've been having that same problem for months (ever since 1.02 came out). Still cannot get it to patch and running in Admin doesn't make any difference.

I've done everything I can think of to resolve this in including starting a new game and I keep getting the same errors when I go to and then try to leave my camp with my party.

I tried your suggestion of completely removing and then reinstalling C++ 2005 and 2008. Unfortunately, I didn't notice any changes in gameplay.
Another clue I ran into is that the same problems in movies occur within the Character Creator program as well. I'm not sure if that's at all useful information.

@ solfoti, you may have some driver issues, try updating your computer with the latest video card drivers, update your C++ 2005 and 2008 editions, and if you downloaded it from a Digital Distribution site make sure you downloaded all the files correctly. In the meantime if you still have problems would you mind posting up your specs for your comp?

Age just fine. The next day, I do a full-system reset, resetting
everything on my computer back to the day I got it. Now after
reinstalling it and Directx, when I try to play Dragon Age, it says it
cannot detect a graphics card, even though I've not messed with the
graphics card at all. I've already tried reinstalling and such. I would
appreciate any advice i can get. (my comp is a laptop w/ Vista)

Do you have the most recent video drivers for your video card? That may have something to do with it. I'd also suggest making sure that you have the drivers for your motherboard. I know I had a problem long ago with another game because I didn't have the drivers installed after I did a full system reset.
I'd suggest getting the most recent drivers for your video card. If you do decide to update your video card I'd suggest making a system restore point just in case you make a mistake. I'd also suggest installing Driver Sweeper downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D---Driver-Sweeper-%28Setup%29-download-1655.html. This will get rid of all of the left over files from your previous video driver.
To really make sure your new drivers work properly I'd suggest doing this. (Totally up to you though.....)
-download your video drivers
-right click on My computer and go to properties
-Go do device manager
-Locate Display adapters (this will also tell you what video card you have so you can get the correct drivers)
-Right click and uninstall
-You should restart in safe mode and use Driver Sweeper
-Go to start>run and type in msconfig and go to the Boot tab and click on safe boot and reboot
-Run Driver Sweeper and then run msconfig again and untick the safe boot option and reboot again
-A menu will come up and you want to select the Display checkbox and it should do everything else for you, just accept to delete the left over files from the previous version of the video card
-Run your Driver software and update your video card and try again

If so, likely the problem is just with the Dragon Age Origins Content Updater Service. Try manually starting it before you launch the game.
1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER
2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.
3.) Right click it and select START
If it doesn't start or is missing there is more troubleshooting information available in section 3 of the Redeemed DLC Troubleshooting FAQ
