I have already checked my registered game promotions. Both DLCs are there but at download section there is just --- . And they don't show up in the download section of the game either. So what's the problem?

Dragon Age DLC isn't downloadable from the Registered Game Promotions Page, the game should start to download DLC automatically once you log into the game with the email address and password for the account you redeemed the codes with.  But there are enough hiccups with the process that there is a rather extensive Redeemed DLC Troubleshooting FAQ.  Go through there to see if any of the tips in there can get things downloading.

As a first step, try manually starting the Dragon Age Origins Content Update service before you start the game.

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER
2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.
3.) Right click it and select START

The overall game is awesome! Yet I’m having a few problems I need help with…my character is an elf mage who has the Arcane Warrior and shapeshifter specialization’s, (it shows their ‘unlocked’ on the specialization screen) the problem is, she doesn’t have any of the related abilities! Only the regular mage abilities.



As of right now I’m getting near to the Landsmeet, yet throughout the game I’ve gone everywhere and done everything I can think of to unlock the abilities that go with the specializations. I’ve even constantly spoken to Morgan about learning the shapeshifter abilities but Morgan refuses to help…even though she's now at 100% friendly.



I’m also not able to use the Spellweaver sword, which is specifically for the Arcane Warrior!



I’ve also installed all the available official software patches for the game and still nothing! Is there something I’ve missed? Is this a bug? How do I fix this?



Please help! As I would really like to use my characters specializations for the duration of the game!

Hello, I bought DAO on Steam, played a bit, installed some mods but didn't like those and removed everything from the override folder. But when I start the game now my 2 chars are almost naked, and it's not individual items it's the whole Cousland set for example.



It happened on every save from first to the last one even on my sister's characters who misses some other stuff, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, even run "Verify integrity..." stuff and there is still no Cousland set in the chest or my inventory when I start the game.



I have Deluxe DAO+all of DLC's downloaded&installed. Confused.

Unlocking specializations only allows you to learn them, you still have to pick them on level up.  When leveling, you should see a box with the number of specialization points above the four specializations.  You get 1 point at level 7, another point at level 14.  To spend those points you need to click on the specialization(s) you want to learn, each time pick one it will spend one point.  Then when you confirm the level up you will have access to the specialization's abilities.

Perhaps it's not a bug but i'm a little bit surprised of that thing:

Hi there,
I was wondering about the setup with dlc.  It is obviously linked to my account (the account that paid for it) and then downloaded onto the computer.  My question is; what happens if I have to reformat my computer?  Does it allow me to log in here and download the dlc again?  Or is it then lost forever? 

Since I cannot purchase a cd copy of Awakening when it comes out (because apparently it is only dlc in europe), I am worried about the possibility of my computer getting a virus or something like that and then losing such a large amount of money.  Obviously I take very good care to protect my computer, but accidents happen, and even hardware failure.  Having to spend a day reformatting the hard disk and putting all my programs back on is one thing, but having lost all dlc I may have bought is quite another.

If someone in the know could answer my question, I would be very grateful.

What is wrong with the 1.02a patch for dragon age? I've downloaded it three times (from Bio-Ware) & it still says "error from my download -36". It has an error @ -36?
The game freezes all the time & just like everyone else, I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. Why haven't the had a new patch since last year?

Do the points that you get through regular game play count towards being able to download new content?  I have 605 points that i want to put towards a new quest, unfortunately I can't figure out how to get them onto my online account to expend them.  Any advice?

There is no relationship between the two kinds of points.

There are currently server problems. http://social.biowar...8/index/1449580.  Wait until they are resolved and try again.

You'll have to take that up with Bioware, and the one or two of their people who visit here (and who are folks unlikely to be closely tied into the loop of web mavens responsible for the site's failures. There is a separate forum dedicated to site problems, at which at one time there really was much more of a Bioware presence than there is now, and it is still the best place to complain.

Where you are now it user to user tech, and very minimal official interaction.
