I was wondering about the setup with dlc.  It is obviously linked to my account (the account that paid for it) and then downloaded onto the computer.  My question is; what happens if I have to reformat my computer?  Does it allow me to log in here and download the dlc again?  Or is it then lost forever? 

Since I cannot purchase a cd copy of Awakening when it comes out (because apparently it is only dlc in europe), I am worried about the possibility of my computer getting a virus or something like that and then losing such a large amount of money.  Obviously I take very good care to protect my computer, but accidents happen, and even hardware failure.  Having to spend a day reformatting the hard disk and putting all my programs back on is one thing, but having lost all dlc I may have bought is quite another.

If someone in the know could answer my question, I would be very grateful.

I had to reformat my hd after  some problems i reinstalled DO:A and it automaticly downloaded the dlc's i had on before my wipe

Do people actually check these forums to help, or should I be contacting customer support directly?
My characters do not upload. My achievements show, but nothing else.
I have disabled my firewall (please don't hack me
I have ensured all ports are open on my router. The character creator stuff still uploads fine.
I have tried the command prompt fix and have had no results so far.
On that note note, somebody please click on my profile so i can see if it will update.

well i updated my game into 1.02 version, to get the return to Ostagar, but after this update, it started to download the return to Ostagar which i got but also its trying to download now something else too, (always 0%) DAO_PRC_OPROMO_ME what the hell is this now?! :S:@

Ello all.

I have a Dell XPSM1730 (don't get excited, it's a
terrible machine), and it keeps breaking. So Dell keep replacing parts
for it - usually the card. Recently it broke once more, and this time
Dell replaced the graphics card and motherboard, which seems to have
fixed it (touch wood).

But, since then Dragon Age won't load
past the little loader screen. I've fiddled with the settings,
reinstalled it on Steam and deleted all the related files, but still
it's just locking up my whole laptop on the load screen - only a hard
reset is my option.

Any ideas, guys? I miss playing

The last few days my laptop has been totally messed up. He keeps giving me blue screens and it keeps complaining about adobe flashplayer not being installed.

So I decided to re-install Windows, but I don't want to lose my save files. I figured I could transfer my save files on a cd/usb flash drive so I could transfer it to my PC or back to my laptop.

Now I'm wondering what files I have to transfer. Do I have to transfer the entire Bioware folder from my documents or only the characters? Is it even possible to transfer my save game this way towards another pc?

Ok.. Played Dragon Age for about a week and a half. Started a new character and was playing fine when out of no where it crashes to windows. I tried to start it again but when it starts I get all kinds of wierd screaming noises coming at me. I restart my comp and it does it again. I restart again and this time it works but crashes 5 minutes later. Now my game crashes all the time.

I have a Asus M3A78-EM with a AMD Phenom x3, 2.4 GHZ processor and a Radeon HD 4650.
2 GB of ram and I have plenty of hardrive space.

I know I'm a little out dated but I can run Crysis alomst on all high settings and my comp runs Company Of Heroes on all high settings. Spore ran perfect minus all the game bugs. I was also running Empire Total War at near full blast and it was working wonderful.

Like i said it was running like a champ for like a week and a half and then it pooped on me. I'm not having trouble with any other games but this one, which leads me to think it's the game! Whats going on? Have I been screwed by EA once again? Spore and Army Of Two 40th day where more than enough for me to handle, now Dragon Age. Grrrr.. Please help. I noticed other people were having some issues as well but I saw no answers.

Ever since the 1.2 patch Dragon Age has been crashing for me every couple of minutes but after downloading the new nvidia driver patch yesterday I've not had a crash since after playing for an hour or so. Just thought I'd pass it along since the issue had me frustrated for so long

A couple of quibbles here, if you don't mind.  First off, there is no such thing as any "1.2" patch, only a couple of 1.02 variations. 

Next, if do you want to be of help, name the specific video card involved, and the specific driver IDs (a "patch"?).

i´ve got p4 @ 2.8 Ghz and 1.3 GB ram and GeForce 8600 GT and i get like 11 fps -.-



btw it doesn´t matter which settings i use i always get 9 to 11 fps

i wonder because i know people with a far worse pc get WAY better fps than me...

P4s just haven't been able to keep up, for 3-4 years before the C2Ds finally came out, and a 2.8 is particularly slow and old, even for a P4. My six year old Athlon XP 3000 outruns any P4 with less Core speed than a 3.4, and it only has an X1950 Pro video card, but has very nice frame rates anyway.

Drop your screen resolution a couple of steps, see what happens (image quality settings affect things far less than resolution).

well, open the games folder where you have your dragon age origins logo, right click with your mouse button and there you should see Saved Games, click on it. Then there should open the saved files folder, try to save this folder onto your memory stick for example. I cant tell you it works for 100% cause i havent done it. But it looks logical enough, why shouldnt it   greets from hell

I have successfully transferred my saved games for one character from a mac to a pc. I then finished the game on my pc with this character. I copied pretty much everything under the "bioware" folder including the DLC.

Alright, so when I started playing the game there was no problem but once I passed the battle of Ostegar my character just started walking on air and through the ground. It seems like it's ignoring the ground and just walks in a straight line. I tried restarting and reinstalling but nothing works. I can't reach certain enemies or access certain doors because my character is stuck in the ground. I've looked around on the forums and so far I haven't found anyone with the same problem.



I'm running:

-Windows 7 Professional 64 bits (6.1, build 7600)

-Dragon Age: Origins patched to 1.02

-Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs)

-ATI Radeon HD 5860

-8,00 GB DDR3 Ram

Is there another language choice that you can set your copy of Windows to? The game tried to match what Windows told it, and doesn't seem able to do so (at least, that's a best guess from a prior thread on this).
