Given what I just paid for this game I might have liked a working response from Bioware though .. or maybe even a patch that did not kill the game.



BTW - running Windows XP ... this issue isn't just Vista

while playing the game, my display randomly flashes different colors, mostly red. I can still see my characters most of the time, but it is so freakin annoying. Help!

So, how does one get the toolset, because I have no 'Net access at home and won't for a while, I am assuming the toolset app contacts the server to see if your DA:O is valid?!

I've just gotten to the chantry in the first town you go to that's full of refugees. And when i try to exit the chantry the came just closes down. Ive tried getting new drivers, and i downloaded that C++ thing, but nothing seems to work.

I just want to say I'm not impressed with EA support. Twice I've used the live chat support now, and twice I end up with no result. Not only that I was promised answers 24 within 24 hours of my email questions. Going on 26 hours ow and still no info. I'm pissed because I have been looking forward to the gam for so long, and now I have it, but can't play due to a goddamn "Can not connect to EA Core" error.

In Lothering, i loaded a previous autosave, went into the chanrty and exited straight away, and it just crashes and takes me straight to the desktop.

I don't know if this is just my copy, but, well, I've found two serious bugs in the game, and one even breaks the game. In the town of Lothering, after you unlock Sten from the cage, he will not join my party. I even went into the party screen but he didn't even show up on the screen to select. The second bug is in the Inner Circle quarter, where the elderly mage has set up a barrier stopping you from progressing forward unless she is in your party. The same happened with Stern, where she doesn't show up in the party menu as selectable and every time I try to talk to her or approach the barrier the same cutscene happens as when you first open the door containing the elderly woman and the other female mages. Am I doing something wrong or is this the game itself. Well, whatever it is, I can't progress further. Please help.

Load times seem to become longer as you work your way through the game. I'm near the end, I've united all the factions, save for Redclif, but i'm just about to get the Ashes to heal the Arl. I've gone from load times at the start of the game that were roughly 30 - 45 seconds, to now well over six minutes per load screen. I have a decent computer, and I'm not sure the reason.

Game runs flawless on highest graphics settings.  No lag, no screen tearing, smooth as glass.  One of the best gaming expierences i've ever had, outside of the damn load times!  Which just keep getitng worse...

Hi Chris,

I have experienced some isssues with the collector edition bonus contents, and have discovered that they were related with the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater service which was not started.  So ha have manually started this service and all the issues were gone. 

Also if you try to load a previously save game with the service not started you will get the kind of errror like about trying to use the contents with a different user than the one for which he was registered, try to login with the appropriate registered user..


So since i start manually the content updater service before starting the game, i haven't get any of thoses errors.

For me this is a temporary patch that is working for me.

It works! And I'm using Vista.

It may be mentioned elsewhere on this forum but since the search function appears to not be working I thought I would mention it. You have to install the x86 version - "vcredist_x86.exe' even if you are running a 64bit OS because the Dragon Age executable is 32 bit. I did this on my machine - Windows XP X64 - and the game starts.

Ok so I've downloaded via gamestop.com and I keep getting "The game cannot launch because of a misconfiguration. Please reinstall your game and try again." I've redownloaded 3x's and uninstalled/installed 3x's as well and nothing is working >_>

Why the heck doesnt Bioware answer what to do with the problem with the %&"(!/"&%!)/"%& damn patch? Its so !"(/!"/!%&&¤&%# bad of them not to answer or at least acknowledge the problem. IS THIS DAMN FORUM JUST FOR NOTHING????

Right will anyone be able to help me out here?! No matter what I try to do I have the same two problems each time I run the game;



1) a hardly noticeable problem, whenever I hit tab to highlight for names etc everyone and everything besides myself has a bizarre name such as 'bhf_10001_mother'!



2) the big one! When i enter a conversation with someone I can here them speak but it just keeps running through their diolog without giving me the chance or choice to reply!



As you can imagine this is DAMN irritating as, of what I have played, I already love this game but I aint got a clue what going on because of the lack of communication!

I have tried playing the game both with and without the patch.... didnt work

I have reinstalled the game FOUR F*****G TIMES...... still didnt work



HELP ME PLEASE!!! I WANT TO CRY!!!

I have a freezing issue, starts with a graphics corruption and then a complete freeze.  Using 8800 GT's SLIed.  Problem is there in non-SLI mode too.  Seems to happen randomly.  Somtimes in a cut scene, sometimes just dong normal game things.

My game worked fine except for one thing. After downloading the tool set and exporting the demo...I can't get characters to join me at camp. I select them but the won't be there when I go to town ect. Any sugguestions?
