Anyway, I have 1.03 patch and it crashes too. Not too often, I must say, but it happened 2 or 3 times in the few past days.

After getting "Dragon Age origins Deluxe edition" from Steam I had no download able content showing in the Download content of the game "It showed nothing" I then downloaded and installed the DAZIP files associated with the download content I purchased. I was then able to see the content but when I tried to download it I was unable to as the redeem it had already been used. I have tried everything in http://social.biowar...y-81613-1.html. Have been trying to get this fixed for over 3 weeks Steam said "Not our problem" Bioware's response was to copy and paste there help files to me one at a time. After following all there instructions last answer reinstall the game. Did that, still same problem. I am guessing the help desk guy doesn't really exist and the responses I have been getting are computer generated. What a pain in the ..... will never buy from steam again and Bioware need to get some real people into help rather than copy and paste the help files!
Hope everyone is enjoying the game would like to play it one day!!!!!!

Quick question for those crashing, are any/most/all of you on Windows 7 x64? I'm on it myself, but I've refused to upgrade (I'm still on 1.02a). I'm wondering if there is a common thread with crashing and OS with the new patch.
I'm using Windows 7 32bit, but I've got the latest patch as well. My game is crashing at the cutscene, dialogue with Sten in the camp ... (HIGHLIGH TO SEE SPOILER: THE CONVERSATION ABOUT HOW I CAN'T BE A WOMAN AND A GREY WARDEN) It's been juddering, and freezing a little before that and then continuing the game, but the cutscene convo with Sten is totally killing it, giving me a blue screen of death and restarting the compi @.@
I really hope it's not the operating system, I bought Windows 7 last week cause my XP disk isn't working anymore >.<
edited: for spelling
2nd Edit: the only things I've changed from my XP playthrough (when the game worked perfectly) is the operating system, and I've also now got the latest patch (didn't have ANY patch before) and all the DLC

For those that downloaded and upgrade patch and it started to cause your pc to crash then try this out. Try to manually turn your cooling fan speed up so it runs faster. Next...go to the game and click options, then video and turn the anti aliasing up to 2x or 4x, then it works fine. It just runs a bit slower while playing and moving around, but it causes the game to not crash very often. If anyone has another way of helping with this problem, then please let me know.
That doesn't make any sense at all. A patch won't make your computer overheat unless you already have overheating problems. If you want to see if you have overheating problems then go download Orthos or Video Card Stress Test, let them run for a few hours and see if your computer crashes.
And if you can turn up anti-aliasing then do, it just means you have unused graphics processing power. It has nothing to do with crashing or anything else.

Problem is that "Return.." demands patch 1.02. Despite me already installing 1.03. Anyone else encounter this?

I have a really annoying problem. Downloaded Wardens Keep and Return to Ostagar today. Haven't played for a while so had to download patch 1,03.

RtO should work with 1.03. Right after installing Patch 1.03 I redownloaded all my DLC and RtO worked just fine. However the in game error messaging is just a little vague, and there's probably some other installation problem and it just makes it seem like its the version.
Try clearing the Download Cache. From the launcher, click Configure, then go to Repair and click "Clear Download Cache".
Then delete My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\Manifest.xml
If that doesn't get things working, try manually downloading and installing RtO (links and instructions in Section 4 of the Redeemed DLC Troublehshooting FAQ. Even if the manual install fails, it gives better error messages.

I'm curious... I have the Steam version of Dragon Age: Origins, and I plan on picking up the retail version of Awakenings from Gamestop while I'm in town with Mom for my doctor's visit... What I want to know is, will the retail version of Awakenings work with the Steam version of Origins? I'd like to know before I go buy and then waste my money because they aren't compatible...
You might get a better answer in the Awakenings General Discussion Forum, but I'm pretty sure only the Steam version of Awakenings will work with the Steam version of Origins.

I'm just having a small dilemma atm. I stopped playing the game a few months back and in that time I reformatted to Win7. The thing is, I saved all my saved games and everything I needed for Awakening however, when I load the game up, it doesn't give me the option to load previously saved games. Is there any way to make the game able to find the new directory? At present all the saved game data is located in (what I would have thought to be the correct directory) C/My Docs/Bioware/Dragon Age/Characters/Characters name/Saves. Unfortunately, the game does not think so.
Can someone lend me a hand?
Cheers

No one here can assist, as long as you choose to withhold the needed hardware configuration, driver data, and OS version information. Sorry.Caseypwns wrote...
Ok so in playing DAO, it frequently slows to a slugs pace in animations, and load times. On the worst occasions the game crashes. Every other game I have on my comp works perfectly fine. The computer is relatively new and has more than half it memory available. In looking however, while running DAO, it is using 80-90% of the cpu's capability all by itself. Is this a common problem, is anyone else having this problem? If so please let me know about what can be done.

Here's the rundown.
-Game crashes frequently, even on high end pcs.
-Some abilities (lock-picking, transformation in the fade) have simply stopped working on some games.
-Freezing at the start of cut-scenes and battles.
-Interaction issues (doors wont open, can't loot corpses, temporary party members don't join).
We need 1.03a, sooner rather than later.
