Since then it has blue screened during the developer titles before loading the main menu producing an error message associated with my hard drive.
I've seen one other forum topic discussing this, but the resolution didn't fix the problem.
My specs are:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
8192MB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2

60 GB OCZ Agility SSD

ASUS GeForce 250 1GB

My question is to those GeForce 250 card users. are you using the up to date Win 7 drivers for this card successfully? Are you using the manufacturer's drivers or nVidia's drivers?
I have the random crashing thing going on, and am busy searching/trying the different things from this forum, but no luck so far. I have a few more from my comprised list to go. :-/

Anyone having problems with getting the game to recognize the game disks in the drive after installing awakening? I played the game immediately after the install, but now can't get it to recognize the disk, even if I'm using the autorun file FROM THE DISK. If this has been replicated what was the fix. Currently waiting in the chat help queue
Yes after 1.03 and/or awakening game does not recognize vanilla da:o disks for me too. I use awakening disk for da:o content too,...

One thing I can suggest for any hardware drivers, NEVER let windows update, update your drivers. They are almost always out of date. A lot of card manufacturers point their driver pages to Nvidia, or have the latest Nvidia drivers on their website. So the choice is yours. It's usually a good idea to keep drivers updated, but keep an eye on things when you do, like the most recent nvidia snafu with there drivers. But that has been fixed.

I have all of the DLC's, 1.03, as well as The Awakening. I run on Vista, dual-core, NVidia Geforce 9800m GS, and I can run the game flawlessly. I was running just Dragon Age: Origins before, but just today upgraded to The Awakening and decided to get all of the DLC's available as well. Anyway, my issue is that while I play, occasionally I will open up my inventory. When I open up the inventory the entire game freezes and then crashes, doesn't really matter what I am doing, and it doesn't happen every time I open it, but it's pretty irritating to be in the middle of something, open it up, and have the game crash. Solutions? Thanks much!
Edit; Also, I am having the same issue of it not being able to recognize the da:o disk, forcing me to use the awakening one. Not sure if that is connected to the above issue?

I update my Nvidia drivers manually (never through Windows 7 Automatic Updates) and have cleaned all fans/filters etc. I run every other game just fine, including mass effect 2 without any overheats.
Why would my card be suddenly overheating, and only during conversations? Is this a game bug? I haven't changed any of the graphical settings from when I played DA:O and have well over the recommended requirements (Core i7, 6 gigs of RAM).
Any advice would be appreciated!

I recently started playing the Awakening expansion after having finished DA:O without any problems. Now, however, during any conversation I enter after about 30 minutes of play, the red light on my GTX295 switches on (suggesting overheating) and I have to hard reset my computer.

Btw, certain recent Nvidia drivers could cause the cards to overheat. it's a confirmed issue, so maybe try the new WHQL driver.

If you chose the Geforce 196.75 driver from nVIDIA and used it without running a search on Google, you need to gert rid of that piece of garbage instantly. Far too often, nVIDIA is releasing drivers that do stupid stuff to any video card other than their very newest; in that one's case, the hotter the card gets, the slower it runs its fan!Androidv2.5 wrote...

I have GTS250, last drivers 197.13, even with beta status all working fine, sometimes it`s crash but it`s too rare once per week may be.
I`m using mods and tab switching so it can be my fault.
Due to quicksaves and autosaves it`s OK. I think the game is rather stable.

From what I've read elsewhere, the red light indicates a power problem to the video card. Are both power cables seated correctly?Androidv2.5 wrote...

I'm having trouble with The Urn Of Sacred Ashes quest. I have sendt an email to ea-support, but they say they might help some time in the future..and that does not cut it for me, becouse I want to play DA:O now.
At the start of the quest I went to Denerim. Talked to Waylon, and started serching the house. Ofcourse he attaced, I killed him, and serched the place. I looted the chest in the back room, where the body is, but there was no notes. But I did of course not know that they was suppost to. So I whent to the Inn, talked to the keeper and now he's affraid.
So, I have a dead Waylon, a scared Inn keeper and no clue what to do! Haven is not on my map, and the notes are no where to be found!
Does anybody have any tips, fixes, tricks or maybe a cool magic spell to fix this?
Thank you for any awnsers I get!

complete, 1 of them is the Wade's "A Master's Work" the other is "What is Built Endures".
A Master's Work - I Killed the Old One and looted Heartwood but when I returned to the Keep i found impossible to speak to Master Wade so I spoke to Herren but there were no dialog options about crafting something with the special material (Heartwood).
What is Built Endures - In the Wending Wood I found the Granite Deposit but when I came Back to Vigil's Keep it was impossible to speak with Voldrik Glavonak to end the quest
It's a shame that a beautiful game like Awakening have so many BUG!!!!
