off that after I switched over DA:O from my computer to my TB drive I am
unarthorized to the dlc I got with the game nor the dlc I brought
through the bioware points. So I invest 100 bucks into a game i will
never finish... I doubt I will ever get it to work. I tried everything
googled it found 5 possible ways... Nothing worked and all the content
doesn't show up. Its all in the files... I must of screwed something up.
This problem for me was abit out of my league. I am thinking outside of
the box here..... Lets say that Bioware dropped the ball. or E.A.
did... i blame them both. Ok to me the fact i bought content and
invested 100 into a game i have to work for to make it work. is crazy.
Insanitry at its finest. PC gaming is dead and consoles are a big money
dump with out dated tech ps3 or 360 both substandred peices of crap. ok.
Maybe a bit harsh. Hey I got jacked by Bioware. Atleast make sure your
DRM system works before throwing it out to the market. Failing to do so
is fraud, but hey remember me T.O.L/A.? Yeah ok you have good lawyers
you win this time Bioware. WRONG! last game I buy from you. If anyone
else has half a brain you'd wouldn't stand for this **** either.
I DO
NOT WORK FOR BIOWARE. So I shouldn't have to work when I buy a game. I
am not a programer nor techy so don't treat me like one. patch it or [smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie] off

I have no issues with any other game installed on this machine, just this one, which leads me to believe it might be a Windows 7 compatibility issue with the latest patch. Any idea how I could perhaps make the game a bit more stable?

I have a technical issue wuth DAO:Awakening.
I have a Steam version of the game which is with the last patch available.
Before facing the problem I had already downloaded and installed Steam version of DA:O Collectors edition (in Steam it is called Digital Deluxe Edition).
With Return to Ostagar DLC installed later.
I finished the game and decided to buy a new content.
Today I bought DAO:Awakening also from Steam and installed it.
Also I spent some points to buy Leliana's Song and The Darkspawn Chronicles. They was installed as well.
I finished both Leliana's Song and The Darkspawn Chronicles.
Now starts the problem.
I'm trying to start a new game in DAO: Awakening and it starts.
But there is a lot of bugs.
All dialogs are missing in starting movie as well as in cutscenes.
All characters in cutscenes are obviously chatting but the voice as well as the subs are missing.
Some items in inventory are without names and descriptions.
Starting companions are with strange names like int100cr_survivor.
I tried to remove the old installation and make a new one.
With the same effect - I'm still experiencing the problem described in my first message.
Please, can you tell me what can be done to solve this issue?
I wrote to the EA customer support but still have no answer.

I have reinstalled my PC and when I'm trying to play DA:O, game says that my version is not autorised, and ask to enter a serial number.
I've entered my serial number but it said that it's impossible to activate game with this number.
How I can solve it?
Best Regards

The reason I was asking is because I'm interested in all of the new add-ons and don't want to kepp piling stuff on to the game if it isn't going to work.
Also DAO keeps causing my laptop to crash. Do I need to update? Thanks for any help.

There is no way to answer the question you posed at the end with what you have included in your question. I never try answering anyone's questions about any DLC, so only the multiple game problems in actually running the game get my attention. I expect to see a summary of the system and its software environment before I can start making suggestions, and I prefer it to be in its own individual, separate message thread:
Preliminary diagnostic information
First, however, what have you learned using the forum's SEARCH tool?
After failing to learn anything substantive that way, since PCs are not *anything* at all like game console systems, it adds another dimension to a question. Please fill it all in (if you have a problem being able to deal with that request, and are in the Bioware Social Sites' forums, do a search for "Basics" without the quote marks, to get a rundown on Windows' built-in component inventory functions).
Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)
Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon 64 / Pentium / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz (or AMD Performance Number)
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ? (Oh, no!)
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so please answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, not the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:
(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)
P. S. Please use every day business style paragraph breaks, punctuation, and spelling.

Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz
4.00 GB Ram
64 bit operating system
Dual NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+
Not sure about the sound card.
I have played Dragon Age Origins and Awakening and every other DLC I've downloaded with no problems at all. My system runs the game at maximum settings very smoothly. When I purchased the Leliana's Song DLC, it would not download automatically. The requirement for patch "1.03" was in red, even though I have the 1.04 patch installed. So, I downloaded the file and installed it manually. When I try to play the Leliana's Song, Leliana is invisible during cutscenes (with a few exceptions) and in gameplay she has a generic female face with no hair. The game plays normally otherwise until I try to plant documents in the Arl's desk. Here, the game always crashes.
I tried reinstalling the DLC, but had the same results. I tried getting a new download and installing that, with the same results. I tried disabling all the other DLC's, with the same results. I followed some instructions on this forum that allowed me to have the game download and install the DLC automatically, with the same results. I finally tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling, but again I have the same problem.
It seems that the game is missing certain information. I looked through this forum and found that a number of people are having this exact same issue - bald or invisible Leliana and crash when planting documents. These other people all have different computer specs and operating systems. Some have unofficial DLC's and others only have official DLC's. I myself only had official DLC's installed.
So far, I don't know of anyone who has figured out how to fix this problem. I contacted EA but all they suggested was reinstalling everything, which hasn't worked.
