On my system, the game is located in:
C:\\Program Files (86)\\Dragon Age

However, my saved game files are located here:
C:\\Users\\myname\\Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Characters

I don't know if it will be the same on your computer, but maybe this will help.

 my mouse pointer isn't showing up after i load dragon age but, it shows up anywhere else on any other game. does anybody know of a key combo that hides the mouse pointer any help appreciated.

Disable any and all mouse graphics modifying functions, such as "trails".

I just played through Awakening and beat the mother but the game didn't create a saved game for to carry over witch hunt, is there a fix for this. In origins when I got to the elven Alienage I ran across

Ionas' daughter Amethyne her name was yellowed out but there's not a quest for her, is there a fix or a mod for this too?

There isn't a quest for her, this is the same on all Origins.  As far as I know there is nothing to fix because there was never a quest associated with her.

I have a fresh install of the disc version, purchased today, and I can't get the 1.04 patch to install.  It keeps getting about 25% through, then crashing.  I've tried downloading it multiple times, same thing keeps happening.

I have nearly the same problem, downloaded the 1.04 patch so I could play the witch hunt add on but it says 1.04 isnt installed. And furthermore, when I try to load a game it says Im missing components even though witch hunt never installed due to the game saying its missing the patch. I realy hope this isnt a crap bug where I "HAVE" to buy Awakening just to keep playing my game that Ive already paid for.

Would very much appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance.

I am unable to play: Golems Might, Witch Hunt, Witch Craft, or Golems Of Amgarrak.

I have patch 1.04 installed which it says is required to play these add-ons.
I understand that these games are supposed to start while I am playing in game however they do not.
I've tried to download them several times now and to install them manually. I was concerned I did not have a program to open dazip files with so I downloaded winzip,
However even after opening the folders through winzip, I cannot find any startup application. When I try to open them by default dragonoforgins.dazip it says application not found. I have also located the daupdater and installed the add-ons; However I am still unable to play them in game. I am not sure what to do at this point except to reinstall everything which would mean I loose my characters and game. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

I have a problem with my monitor resolution.  I have a 16:9 sized Benq LCD monitor.  This monotor seems to automatically stretch games to their full width.  But it seems that Dragon Age:Origins also does this so I get a double stretch effect, so that I only get to see the left half of the game interface, which of course prevents me from playing the game.  Is there a way to fix this?

Hello, I have a problem with my login sesion in game.



I uninstalled the game completely and I reinstalled.

I have also installed the expansion of the "awakening" and the patches 1.3 and 1.4 needed to run.



When I start the game and try to login with my bioware account, I can not. A message appears saying: "At this moment do not have internet access, try again when available", but yes, I have internet connection as you can see, my user and pass are perfectly because loginscreen via web without problems.



I tested and reviewed the firewall and antivirus and still gives the same problem of connection.



I've not played for a while and now suddenly this happens.

Also say that I have opened ports 8000 and 8001 TDP / UDP as shown the manual.



I do not know what to do, I need a solution. Any suggestions?

Well lads its probably just as well ya can't download it.
If your running Win 7 64bit, its heads or tails weather it runs or not.
I just forked out £20 on a game that is probably never going to be fixed (not hardware don't ask). Some get lucky some don't.
Thanks EA. NICE TO SEE YOU TEST YOUR GAMES PROPERLY.

(slight rant do appologise but hopefully some one in EA will take notice, this game is not Win7 friendly and the box art amounts to false advertising).

Well its got win 7 listed on its os list...might have the usual w7 problems though....

Thats the problem with new os's it takes 2-3 years to work the kinks out.

I purchased DA:O digital deluxe edition and the Awakening expansion via a Steam sale many months ago. I am just now getting around to playing it. In steam, there are entries to launch either DA:O or DA:O - Awakening. I created a character in DA:O and did the tutorial. Then I launched DA:O - Awakening. It took me to the same game menu and even has an option to "resume game".



So I'm wondering, how should I launch the game? Does it even matter which Steam shortcut I use? How do I access the Awakening content, is it a quest I'll run into along the way while playing DA:O (or perhaps after beating the main quest)?



I just don't want to spend 60 hours on a character and then realize I epically screwed up and should have done things in a different order and need to restart the game or something. Thanks.

I have purchased the game through digital download and i cant even be arsed anymore to write all the **** and crap i have been through to get this steaming pile of **** to work.
I have been working with computers all my life and know more about them then is healthy for me and have solved problems you cant even imagine.
But getting this turdpile of a game to work is beyond me.
Nice way to throw money out of the window i guess

Ok, i have a solution!!
for OS windows 7 64bits.

* From Control Panel -> System and Security -> Administrative Tools -> and you will find our services.
(or Start-> Run-> type "services.msc" -> OK)
* You set yourselves above the icon and right click.
* You select Run as administrator.
* Opens a new window.
* Searching the service that says "Dragon Age: Origins - Program update content" and right click and You select Start.

Now you enter the game and I Login and you should not have problems.
I believe that this service does is communicate with the EA servers to validate that you've bought things.

I hope to help someone who has had the same problem as me.

actually those two shortcuts are the same. to play the awakening start up origins and at the main menu select other campaigns

Sorry if I missed solution for this.



I got a problem it's about DLC I can't see them there where they suppoused to be. I re-installed DAO and DA:Awakening and I have bought all DCL but I can't see them in game dowloader not in availbe content or download progress or Installed Content. All are empty expect Installed content has Awakening in there.



What I should do?

k im really upset i just bought all the downloadable content for the pc version of dragon age the only gave me half of what i paid for and the half they gave me wont work cause the stupid game wont update the patches and i cant find any phone number to call these thiefs

Dont feel bad, I posted roughly the same problem nearly a week ago and still havnt recieved any type of responce.

Hey I've purchased all the DLC content thru game its all installed i played threw all the DLC's went backto my original DA game i had before and noticed couple things 1st cleansing aura spell when i initiate it it starts but there is no circular arua anymore that you see on the ground and it doesnt do anything anymore doesnt heal and doesnt cure injuries its broken. also broken is the arcane warrior 4th and final skill it doesnt make my character transparent anymore and it doesnt add the bonuses it used to. i loaded patch 1.02a to check if they both work there and they do but of course no DLC items ect. anyone else have this problem or a fix EA says its an IN-GAME problem so i told them im not buying anymore of their games.

Update EA says there is no known work around or fix at the moment so if enough people have this problem they will work on a patch for it.

I have two main problems:
1. Some of my NPC dialog trees skipping over. Example. I go talk to the bartender in the Gnawed Noble Tavern to purchase some items but his dialog skips over any dialog options and goes straight to the quest board. The same thing happens to Bodahn and (to my surprise) Alistair/Anora at the end of the game when you request a boon. (it automatically picks to the 'staying in Denerim' choice.) At first, I thought it was a negative result to a mod, but I took the painstakingly task of uninstalling  them one by one to see where it was exactly; none so far.

2. This is a recent development (today actually). The game crashes when I select new game from the menu.

I'm running Windows 7 and tried the changing the UAC settings, restarting, changing them back, restarting again to no avail, wondering if there is anything else I can do.
Edit: the new game problem has been fixed; it was one of my mods^_^

But, I still have the first problem:(
