Hello guys, uh, i dunno if this is the right place to post this but oh well, im new to this "forum" business. Anyways, is there like a way to spawn items? Because somehow, I seemed to have misplaced a key needed to pass a door in the urn of sacred shes quest. I swear the thing didn't spawn in the first place because for one i checked pictures of where its supposed to be and ive never gotten anything from there before, plus im not stupid enough to sell keys anyway, at least, i hope. So is there a way to spawn a new one or am i superbly screwed?

Thanks guys.

Hi guys, please don’t be put off by the length of the post, this is a real problem…

I have recently bought some DLCs; Soldiers Peak, Witch Hunt and Return to Ostagar.
I also 'had' The Stone Prisoner and the Blood Dragon Armor for free.

All downloaded and installed correctly.
I got Shale on my team no problems.
I captured the Soldiers Peak and found several nice swords and armour pieces.
I also found the StarMetal and had it made the StarFang sword.
I was too weak to wear the Blood Dragon Armor or most of the bits I found at the Peak, so put them all into the chest in the courtyard, thinking i could come back when I was able to use them, but took the StarFang with me.
Previously I had obtained some Drake Scales so headed to Denerim to have them made into another set of armor....this is when things went wrong!!

When I left the Smith shop, i pulled up the inventory screen..and..the game Crashed To Desktop...uh oh!

When I restarted the first thing I noticed was the StarFange had gone!
Then I spotted that Soldier's Peak had vanished AND Honnleath had vanished off of the map!
Return To Ostegar is still on the map though..

Shale is still in my party at camp, but I can’t get to Soldier's Peak to get all my good gear!
Plus the Dwarf doesn’t sell the other Blood Armor pieces anymore!
Oddly the quests still show up in the journal as being completed though..
I restarted and made sure the DLCs were active and restarted.
Honnleath has reappeared, but still no Peak or StarFange!

Has anyone ever experienced this?
How can I get these things back?..Please don’t tell me to restart, after 60+ hours of game play I think I might just shoot myself if that’s the only option!*

I am running 1.04 patch and have recently updated my nVidia drivers.
Please help, the fate of Ferelden rests on that gear! ;)

*(Stated for dramatic effect only, won’t actually happen)

[UPDATE1!] - i just had the exact same crash happen again!  This time i was half way through Return to Ostagar.

What happened this time; I was killed by some spiders when the game reloaded i pulled up the inventory screen straight away..(Possibly too soon before the load process was completed?)
The inventory doesn’t display properly, freezes and crashes out.

Herws food for thought: i was carrying Maric's Sword, the same model is used for the StarFange sword.  Might this have something to do with it??

[UPDATE2!] Today i have experienced two more CTDs, same as before.  I can now tell you that it happens when moving to a new area and you open the inventory screen without moving far enough away from the start location.

Further to the original problem of missing gear and locations i managed to find an old savefile, at level 1(!), sure enough all items are available from there, so my save files have been buggered up, but it MUST be possible to fix, its all zeros and ones at the end of the day, right?

...also..just out of curiosity, this IS the 'Official Dragon Age: Origins PC Game support' forum page, right?
Its just that no one seems to be paying attention to this problem..:(

I havnt started playing Witch Hunt yet, but Witch Hunt comes in two versions: Origins and Awakenings.  You get both when you down load it, so no you dont need to buy Awakening.

It might be worth reinstalling, just remember to back up your save file first mate.
Give it a go .:)
Any ideason my problem??

I recently felt like playing Dragon Age again, make a fresh game and go threw all the DLCs again.
Unfortunately I can not since the game seems to not acknowledge that I own the DLCs, even the ones I used to have prior to the patches, I have the digital deluxe edition and right now I cant even play with shale.
I did a clean install, patched to 1.04 and then launched the game as administrator to install the new content.
I have followed the steps on both official and unofficial threads of this forum, tryed out the method described by EA and still no luck.

My system specs are the following:
Windows 7 64 bit
Game version 1.04 - yet no Witch Hunt 1.1
I bought all the available DLC.

While I was thrilled at the thought of a fresh game, all those troubles just turned me off the game and BioWare itself, I feel sorry for such a company who's been able to produce major games over the years and obviously missed the online train. I was looking forward to getting DOAII well now after having spent roughly 4 hours of trying to get my game working I simply am not interested anymore, lost some cash I guess but more so I lost interest in a gaming company which I've been following for years now - pretty much got all the games ever since baldur's gate has been released.

Anyways, good game as usual, terrible online integration, feel sorry for you folks that you missed the online train.

Hello, I have a problem with my login sesion in game.

I uninstalled the game completely and I reinstalled.
I have also installed the expansion of the "awakening" and the patches 1.3 and 1.4 needed to run.

When I start the game and try to login with my bioware account, I can not. A message appears saying: "At this moment do not have internet access, try again when available", but yes, I have internet connection as you can see, my user and pass are perfectly because loginscreen via web without problems.

I tested and reviewed the firewall and antivirus and still gives the same problem of connection.

I've not played for a while and now suddenly this happens.
Also say that I have opened ports 8000 and 8001 TDP / UDP as shown the manual.

I do not know what to do, I need a solution. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Ok, i have a solution!! :o
for OS windows 7 64bits.

* From Control Panel -> System and Security -> Administrative Tools -> and you will find our services.
(or Start-> Run-> type "services.msc" -> OK)
* You set yourselves above the icon and right click.
* You select Run as administrator.
* Opens a new window.
* Searching the service that says "Dragon Age: Origins - Program update content" and right click and You select Start.

Now you enter the game and I Login and you should not have problems.
I believe that this service does is communicate with the EA servers to validate that you've bought things.

I hope to help someone who has had the same problem as me.
Good luck, bye bye

OMFG .. IT WORKS.. .. well for me it is .. GL to the rest of you all

I recently realized that I can no longer update to the site because I have exceeded my file maximum. Unfortunately, the files causing me to exceed the maximum are non-existent screenshots.

I have deleted all of my screenshots, most of my personal photos, and all of my PC characters in an attempt to clear out 'phantom' screenshot files. BSN says I have 60 screenshots and this is putting me over the file limit. I cannot re-upload my characters properly and hence have no avatar. I have been trying to fix this and am getting insanely frustrated.

Notes: I have also deleted all of my screenshots in the actual game menu as well. I have also deleted all of my console screenshots and a few of those characters even though I believe the console file maximum is separate from the PC maximum.

Let me know if I am not making any sense. I am at my wits end, and hence, nearly witless.

I created a thread for this issue here.

I bought the Ultimate edition of this game and I'm finding that it just doesn't like Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my PC. It plays for about 1-2 hours then crashes or locks up (especially during Boss Fights, Transitions and such). After contacting support and going through the usual "Have you updated your drivers, turned off all background programs, and deleted your temp folders?" stuff they just linked me here.

I have even turned down all the video settings to medium but it makes no difference.

I'm thinking this game just doesn't run too well on 64bit systems or even Windows 7. My PC specs should be plenty to run the game...

Core i7 920 (2.66Ghz quad) processor
EVGA Superclocked GTX 280 GPU
OCZ Platinum 12GB (6 x 2GB) SDRAM DDR3
1TB HD
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I think I'll wait and see if other people have problems before I buy Dragon Age 2, since EA support is non-exsistant.

Hi,

I own the collector's edition of the game and I'm thinking about getting the DLC and Awakening soon. The thing is all the DLC and Awakening are MUCH cheap if bought as part of the Ultimate edition rather then separatly.

My question is can I buy the Ultimate edition and then add Awakening and the DLC to my existing Collector's Edtion install/account?

Thanks

Your video graphics card is borderline minimum, and needs all the help it can get.  You need to be offline, running no AV or firewall, and just plain as little other stuff as you possibly can.  Asus products often come with several special programs that are incompatible with many games.  There's a "Doctor" something, and "Gamer OSD". and that latter one can't even be installed -- it need to be GONE, uninstalled completely.

Hey Gorath is there any reason my game randomly freezes my whole computer when I have FB on in the Deep Roads during the Paragon of Her Kind Quest? This only happens in the room with all those undead/skeletons.

Asus GJH
Intel i7 Q 740 1.7GHZ
ATI Mobility Radeon 5870 Graphics
6GB RAM
Windows 7 64bit Home Premium

Everything else works perfectly on all high except the deep roads.

Hi, thanks for the response Gorath Alpha. I know about the possible problem with system requirements, and I've had problems with past systems( this one too) and other games and all I do is lower the resolution and other graphic stuff and even if its not that awesome I've enjoyed a bunch of games, also like you said tun off all not essential stuff and not be connected to the net. I gave my specs to the EA support they didn't say anything about my graph card all they said was that the game is not tested on windows 7 64 bit I specify cause is the 64 bit the problem. I told them that if they put windows 7 on the back of their game box it tells me that it runs on Win 7, if not they should specify as many other game boxes from other companies do. To let you know I've been playing Arcania Gothic4 that ask for more or almost the same as this game and I don't have problems. I should clarify that my game of DAO UE runs without lag or any other problems on its current settings which have a good look to it, my game is running as administrator and have tried the different compatibilities still does the same thing. I tried looking on my system for those programs you told me can't see anything like that or similar. Anyway thanks for your response again if you think of anything else please let me know.

(T)here is no hardware reason for it, but a couple of places in the game benefit from temporarily reducing the demands on the hardware.  The easiest, and most effective change is to drop the screen resolution to a low number until you finish the parts that drag this way.  (Sorry about the opening capital being omitted at first.)

Windows 7 64 bit only ships with directx 11. It does not have directx 9 or 10. I think it is made to play directx 11 games only. The only game I got to work was The Whitcher. It is a directx 9 game. It took me 3 or 4 days to get it to work. I have DAO now it crashes all of the time. I have been trying for about a week to get it to run. I have got the game to load but only playable a couple of minutes before it crashes.

It makes no real difference whether it is Vista, Vista 32 / 64, Windows XP, Windows 7 32 / 64, whatever, it does have its own native Direct3D, and whatever it is, Dx1o or Dx11, it doesn't work properly with DA: O. DA: O requires Dx9, and there is no conflict between any of the various Direct3D elements. they coexist happily,

Unless you forestall it, the game install will add Dx9 to your setup. Your problem is something else, and you should complete a normal problem report now to describe your system and your symptoms.
