In the same boat as everyone else over the last 9 or so hours. Really getting frustrated with this online authorization that games seem to be doing as a trend. Would like to not have to deal with these frustrations if I actually bought the game and supported Bioware. Guess it's back to some Baldur's Gate 2 for the moment. heh.

Stupid Bioware Team, they have server issue that prevent people to play their DLC, but do nothing to inform the community, so people lose lot of times trying to get their game to work not knowing the problem is on the server side...

but while this time, they take time to make a post about figurine they will sale, and an upcoming 3 hour forum shut down.... but still keep the DLC server issue silent... i hate you for losing 6 hour of my times bioware. and it's a luck that another gamer not even a part of your team have take the initiative to make a post to warn people about the problem.

i dont know where to make a proper complain, so i write on the forum here.

I have the PC-DVD of Dragon Age:Origins and it says that I am not authorized to play my characters that have the Blood Dragon Armor because my account is not authorized to use it, but I am logged into the account that I acquired it on. So how do I let the game know that my account is authorized to use the Blood Dragon Armor?

Sewblon, if you read the latest posts in here, you'll notice that everyone is having this issue because it's server side. We all have to wait it out, which is stupid.

Having the same issue, dlc is "unauthorized". It was fine for several weeks, but since yesterday no luck. There are several ideas online about how one can try to fix it, but none of them worked for me, so I guess I just wait.

Question--- so I guess this means that even if they fix this that if I don't have access to the internet I cannot use my paid premium content?!

The chances I will buy DA2 are dropping precipitously.

I ran into the DLC issue when I launched the copy I purchased on Steam.

I spent two hours looking up fixes for ths issue before running into this thread with updated information.

As a warning for others, if you follow the EA FAQ for authorizing your DLC, the game will recognize that you own it. Unfortunately when you actually load your save file all of your equipment that came from a DLC area will be gone from your inventory.

So unfortunately the game remains unplayable.

I'm just going to wait it out. And once it's authorized again, I will never log back online through Dragon Age

i managed to use the EA faq to authorize my DLC, and what bobdoily said is correct.
Everything in my inventory from the DLC is gone. So I will put it back the way it was and hope they fix it some day. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrr.

For everyone on this thread with the Unauthorized DLC issue, and the missing DLC equipment once they have by-passed the DLC issue, someone found a fix.

After you have logged in, log out. This will allow you to load the file and the DLC equipment will still be present.

This also worked for me.

I'm also having the Unauthorized DLC issue, I realised that when I logged out it worked fine but now when I log out it still comes up with the same message saying that I need an account with the DLC registered.. so I guess I have to wait it out till Bioware fix their servers.

Edit - nevermind, DA just wasn't logging me out properly

I was hoping to fire up this game and play it sometime, but it appears that Bioware has still not fixed the problems getting the downloadable content that we have paid for.

I won't be getting DAO 2!

The bozo who put together this brain damaged marketing plan should be fired! Bioware!?

You can avoid this kind of thing in the future by editing your AddIns.xml file in your \\documents\\Bioware\\DragonAge\\Settings folder. Simply change all instances of "RequiresAuthorization="1" to "RequiresAuthorization="0". Make sure you back up your AddIns.xml beforehand or you may not be able to install mods with daupdater.exe.

Keep in mind that Bioware doesn't staff these forums. Any moderators or Bioware employees that post here do so voluntarily. Despite EA's common suggestion of posting issues here for the developers to see, Bioware does not provide any support. DA:O has not received a patch for nearly a year despite several regressions being introduced in the 1.03 and 1.04 patches. It would be foolish to expect issues to be addressed by Bioware in any manner that possesses alacrity.

Tried Kastagir's approach, but then i tried to load up leliana's campign story, it just gave a failed to load message. Anyway to try a uninstall/reinstall approach for the steam version for dlc?

Kastagir,

That will simply disable the DLC and stop giving warnings (unless you try to load a DLC campaign).

Make sure that your CD Key exists in your windows registry under the Dragon Age entry, not just the Dragon Age Origins entry. RUn the launcher, click Configuration, click Game. If you don't see the CD Key listed there, it's missing from the Dragon Age entry in your registry. This seems to happen a lot with the UE download from Impulse AND Steam, but mostly Impulse.

See my post at http://social.biowar...6701/59#7069676 for a simple, step-by-step, ALMOST fool-proof way to check and fix this. (the form of the guide is for Impulse on Vista, but is not too much different for other Windows installs).

It don't work anymore.  I built a new computer and installed the game on it.  Now everytime I try to start it, it tells me there is no disk.  Any ideas?

Hey johnj there is a small trick to that if you want it...Go into your cd and open, DON'T try to install. Open it up and you'll see a command that says "auto.exe." Double click it....You should be on your way...
