Where are people getting the idea that pre-order armour will be DLC?

If you cant download the inferno armour later, I dont care. There is bound to be better armour in game for my character of choice and the available DLC's later will probably mean in two months I would never wear it again anyway. For me this is a trivial matter.

It'd be awesome if it was DLC. I'd like to get my hands on the Blackstorm but (in the UK), you can either have the CE or the Terminus - not both, like the GameSpot bundle
That untrue, Chris Priestly has on several times said if something comes with Terminus armor, it comes with the blackstorm gun, even if the site doesn't say it selling it doesn't say it.
That's not what he meant.....he meant he can't have the Collector's Edition AND the Terminus gear which includes the Blackstorm and that is true now though he wouldn't be in this situatin if he preodered fast enough.
Ah nevermind then, I miss read. Yeah at this point pretty much anyone wanting CE and Terminus is SOL
Yeah, what I meant was - in the UK, the Collector's Edition & Terminus set were never included together, like the (now out of stock) GameSpot edition. You could get only get 1 or the other in the UK

You really have nothing solid to base your assumptions on and no minor preorder bonus has EVER been given as DLC and it won't start now. The fact that not buying two copies will have you miss out on stuff forever is a strong incentive to buy multiple copies and EA won't cheapen that.
Juggernaut for Marvel Ultimate Alliance, a Gamestop pre-order bonus, is now for sale, the Weapon X room for X-Men Origins Wolverine, originally a bonus, now for sell, don't use definitive statements unless you know for 100% sure.
The DLC for MUA2 is no longer on PSN or XBL.
I wouldn't mind seeing armor/items being DLC, but as long as it's worth the price. I have two versions of the game pre-ordered, one from the Stop place and CE from a CRAZY place. That way I don't have to worry about wanting more gear and having to fiddle with scammers on Ebay, trying to get the codes.

That is a whole other can of worms seeing as they took all DLC off, even new ones made. I don't know what Activision was smoking but it must have been good.
The point is when they did have DLC they made the pre-order juggernaut as DLC as well.

Nobody - especially in this economy - in their right mind is going to buy a game twice just to get a single suit of armor. Only the hardest, most obsessed fan would do such a thing. A lot of people like Bioware games, but the vast majority don't like it that much. Not enough for EA to count on making a lot of money of double buys.

You would be able to have both if you had preordered while the CE was still available. The exact SAME situation is in the US......everyone preodered CE from GameStop because they wanted both.....this caused GameStop to sell out of their CEs which put people into an either or situation.
I got mine set early on so I'm good to go.
In the UK it's nothing to do with ordering early.
One retailer had CE exclusivity and another had it for the terminus gear so without ordering 2 copies we never had the chance to get both.

Yep we got bummed essentially. If you got CE you only got Collectors. If you preordered standard editions from alternative vendors you got the Terminus and Inferno armours. One armour per copy!

There are other aspects....money placed for preorders are used in investments to generate income bfore the gmae releases and one extra copy of the game sold because of the preorder bonus makes them far more income than 50 or 100 copies of a $1 or $2 DLC ever will and precisely because the economy is poor is why the sales are declining. A lot of people don't have money for gaming and companies like EA have to find ways to compensate by doing these things so that those who DO have money for gaming will buy more.
The pros of preorder exclussive DLC are too great and the only thing that releasing a couple of armors for $1 or $2 will gain them is hate and bad publicity the way the horse armor pack did to Bethesda....because too many assume those should be free.....but it they don't sell them separately for $1 or $2 then nobody will be surprised and nobody cries ripoff.

The more likely thing they'll do is sell it with something like an extra character or an adventure - again, there's no reason not to release it in some form or another. After the game is release, you can't preorder anymore, obviously, so they might as well make some money off of what they've already done.

I just keep seeing the same couple of names over and over posting things like "We believe the preorder DLC will be available to buy from Day One" or "I'm fairly confident" or "It's fairly likely". People read that kind of confident statement and they believe it. But there's absolutely no indication for that whatsoever. It's wishful thinking. The stupid thing is though, that if it doesn't happen, these same people will act like they've been cheated out of something. As if they were promised something they never received. Which they had every chance to get.
It's not wishful thinking, it's common sense. And there's been no indication that it won't be released, either - I'd rather think optimistically than pessimistically. And if it's not released, it's not. It's not a big deal. I like the way the Inferno Armor looks, but I like the way Terminus looks much more

I look at it sort of the same way as the Darth Vader/Yoda situation. Bioware doesn't expect anyone to buy the game twice to get one extra armor (well, a small percentage might) Right now they're just an incentive to buy the game in advance, nice and new.
Besides that, look at the Blackstorm weapon. You don't go through the trouble of making something like that and never include it in the game.
im buying the SE from Gamestop to get the terminus and blackstorm, and im buying the CE from EA to get the Inferno and Collector armor; plus i have DA:O so i shall have all the Armor

They won't release the preorder items. Those two armors and a weapon are there to teach you to preorder or miss out though they'll have plenty of OTHER DLC of all szes we don't yet know of for you to buy. In this sense they'll eat their cake and have it too. And YES there are TONS of reasons NOT to release the preorder items but you are in too much denial to see the facts. Like I said think whatever you like but you won't see that preorder stuff as DLC.

You seem to have a real problem with this stuff coming out as dlc.
The fact is that nobody knows. The people who say it will come out are guessing and the people who say it won't are guessing.
All we've had from bioware is that the collectors stuff definately won't be dlc.
Everything else is just opinion no matter how much you say "it makes sense for them to do it" or "it's never been done before".

Except it's more misleading to say "it probably will" than to say "the DA:O stuff still isn't out, why would this be any different?". The folk that keep insisting it will or it should or they're confident or whatever, they're creating false hope. They want to potentially set themselves up for a disappointment? Fine, but dragging along however many other people read about their confidence is unfair to them.Scunny85 wrote...
