Hey guys, I kinda need a second/third/forth opinion on this aggresive build im trying to make for my sp engineer.

Now i want to max out most of my powers (including my bonus, which is either reave, lash or modded flare). I am going to importing a level 60 shepard and changing my class via save editor. So from the point distribution I can max all powers accept one which will be maxed out at rank 4. So from the choices I have i was thinking of either keeping fitness or cyro blast at rank 4. So is it possible to combo sabatoge + cryo blast + incinerate for max damage? As well is cryo worth the upgrade to rank 6? As well can i still use rank 6 freeze combo with only a rank 4 cryo? Also I realize I could just upgrade drone to 4, but it wouldn't survive as much and the shock will be weak. So what would be the best build?

If you are looking for the best Engineer build, then:

Sabotage: Damage, Explosive Hack, Tech Vulnerability
Overload: Damage, Neural Shock, Shield Damage
Incinerate: Damage, Burning Damage, Armor Damage
Tech Mastery: Power Damage, Damage and Capacity, Power Mastery
Fitness: bottom row (health and shields)

Bonus power is recommend as either Fortification or AP Ammo:
  • Fortification for the extra power damage at rank 5.
  • AP Ammo for an activate-and-forget power that will increase your weapon damage and provide some cover bypass and extra armor damage.
Everything else is just a point sink. 1-point Combat Drone is good enough to get Cerberus Guardians to turn around.

Versus Reapers.
Versus the Three Primes on Rannoch.
Versus the Geth on the Geth Dreadnaught.

Why not any Chain on Overload? I like at least the first one. You can potentially set off multiple combos I suppose. Like if Ash is with you. If you take the one at Rank 4, then Shield at Rank 6 you still do a lot of shield damage.

I run the same build as Red, but I go Chain/Neural/Shield on Overload. It does every thing I want an Engineer to do.

I've never done this. What are you getting out of it that you aren't already getting from your tech powers? Biotic explosions are redundant with your tech combos, the powers have no synergy with your build, and your own powers already have built in damage vs. all defenses as well as crowd control.

I'm honestly lost as to any advantage here. Posted Image

I will try reds build first, and then probably change rank 4 overload to chain, i don't recall chain detonating multiple combo's, his build gives the highest overload damage i think. And i don't know how advantageous it is, but i just like biotics and having a biotic power lets me add an extra combo to the list and allow me to play with biotic characters. Like if I take lash, i could deal with phatoms easily and combo off of kaidens reave. or if I take reave combo off of liara's stsis/warp/singularity. just to spice things up really, no doubt engie skill set is enough to destroy sp.

Chain does detonate multiple combos, but you have to have multiple primed targets in close proximity.

Since Incinerate's radius is crappy in ME3, it isn't all that great for setting them up. Cryo Blast might be ok, but you need multiple targets to be frozen at the same time.

Something like Inferno Grenade is significantly more likely to prime a set of targets by lighting them all on fire. That, and squad disruptor or squad incendiary ammo.

To clarify my Overload choices:
For Overload, I never take Chain on rank 4 in single player since I like to go for maximum shield damage so I spend less time removing the shields off super-elite enemies like Atlases, Banshees, and Geth Primes.

You also tend not to face many shielded enemies all at once, so I like to keep Overload single-target. Tech bursting off of Sabotage or Overload can remove (or nearly remove) nearby enemy shields so taking any of the chain evolutions is rather pointless in my opinion. And crowd-controlling only one other target than then original enemy seems like a waste as well since a tech burst crowd-control -- or even outright kill -- a mob of enemies in close proximity.
