If you're not comfortable with Platinum, but are comfortable enough in Gold, then you are average. Is how I see it and how it should be. ... And yes, I fit in this category I've just described. ... You dumdum2? Heck no! You super duper way too awesome at this game!

I'd say a thread/3 days is an average

I might as well give my take on this matter:

Bad - People who can solo Gold but not without using a crutch class, and even then it is not a guaranteed extraction. Can play some of the classes well but can't play most of the classes at all. Usually ends up on the lower half of the scoreboard regardless of class/weapon. Know very little about game mechanics, for instance they don't yet know how to reload cancel.

Average - People like myself. Can solo Gold quite easy but would not always get a successful Platinum solo when playing a subpar class. Can play most of the classes really well but maybe not all the classes. Usually end up on the top half of the scoreboard regardless of class/weapon. Know some game mechanics but far from all of them.

Good - People who can solo Platinum with ease 9 times out of 10. When playing with a full team they never ever fail to reach extraction. Can play all classes and end up first in score a majority of the times. Know at least enough game mechanics to make this game a bit too easy for them.

Great - The Spectre guys

So where do I fall if I match or flat out surpass all of the "good" qualities - except the soloing one?

What's so special about soloing?

What's so special about soloing?

1. That is up to you to decide. I just shared my opinions and if you have a different opinion of if you believe that you would fit in somewhere along my list then feel free to believe what you believe

2. Soloing? Well, that can make all the difference when you have to clutch a Gold or Platinum wave

Solo bronze only - Below average
Silver - Average
Gold - Good
Platinum - Very good

Of course nothing is ever simple.

I tend to agree with this.

Also when I was playing solid Silver and a few Gold I still considered myself average.

Now I play solid Gold with a few Plat, so I consider myself a good player but not the top by a long way.

Bah, it's all relative. If you mainly play platinum with friends on PC you'll have a different idea of average than a new player on ecss bawks.

I can and have clutched and dragged gold and platinum lobbies to their (successful) conclusion. I still wasted 6 medigels wave 1 of my most recent silver solo.

No offense but your scaling is not even closely related to reality. Really, bad players can solo gold? Average ones solo platinum? That's the reason people get mad, at first glance this look like a barely veiled ego stroking attempt. You say you're average over and over again, then claim to have outscore some specters you declare to be so good. It's getting old dude, really.
I'm not hating, and I doubt you're trying to show how big your e-peen is, but, still, people can feel diminished by your posts, hence the hostility.
Your scale depends on who you're playing with. I've never tried to solo platinum, and never will, does that make me a bad player? I'm not good, of course, but still better than the majority. How would you qualify them then?

Apologies, I didn't mean by whose standards, I meant average compared to what group of players ?

For example I consider myself very much average compared to BSN (although I note by your standards I fall into the Bad catergory). But compared to the overall player base I am a long way above average, simply due to the fact I can get through a gold match without much difficulty.
