ok this is strictly from other peoples opinions , and i'm just gonna tell you my thoughts on them i played through this game 3 times , 3 times and my file either got corrupted file or i deleted it by mistake when cleaning my computer. :(

now i am determined on finishing this game and Awakening so i can finally play Dragon Age 2 (even through i know its not good i still wanna play it just for the sake of finishing it

now i read alot of my past posts when playing those three origins and there were the so called best origins Female City Elf , Dwarf Noble and Dalish Elf . now the City Elf and Noble were great the Dalish i thought was weak outta the three.

since im Determined on playing through this till the end which Origin should i pick? , i have played the other origins just till we got too Ostagar i did this just so i got the feel of my character and the Origins and alot of the other origins kinda seem weak as well unless they get this big push near the end.

Human Noble:  being a male or female on this origin just doesn't matter and also i don't feel like i had much of a connection with the family either.

Dwarf Commoner : this one i felt like got too over shadowed by the Noble Origin i just liked the Dwarf Noble origin better to be honest but who knows maybe im wrong now that i finished the Noble Dwarf i should try this one next.

Mage Tower: if it wasn't for the Dalish this one i outta think is the weakest outta them all Jowen why are we friends again? why should i do anything for you just for you too lie too me.

The dwarf commoner gets better once you return to Orzammar. Just be sure to talk to everyone. There are some excellent bits of dialogue that you might miss if you do not. My favourite line in the whole game happens if you take Morrigan with you to see your mom.

Human noble is very much 'what you see is what you get'. The mage origins are not very different from one another. They are quite short. If you like playing a powerful PC, that's the advantage of playing a mage.

For me, the dwarf commoner was the best origin, pretty easily.

It was also the origin for my first playthrough, and it got me hooked on the game and the story faster than any other game I remember playing before. I don't think it's at all overshadowed by the noble origin - the only thing that the noble origin has over the commoner origin is that you can get through it with more gold in your pocket than any other origin.

The dwarf commoner origin gives you a grand rags-to-riches, loathed-to-revered story. The life of the castless, and the dwarven society's treatment of them gives a different perspective on the dwarven culture from the noble origin.

Both the dwarf origins are my favourites, especially the commoner. It really has a rogue-ish feel to it, and suits quite well if you are roleplaying a rogue. Just as mouse and swordfish mentioned, it gets better as the game progresses and feels grand by the endgame.

You should totally go dwarf commoner, Brosca rocks. :)

I absolutely loved the dward noble, it was my first full playthrough and I felt like the origin provided a unique and fitting perspective on the blight, political infighting and themes of redemption played out in the game.

Having played awakening and DA2, I found the mage origin really enjoyable. It illuminated some of the themes that would come back to influence the narrative in the both the expansion and the sequel. I feel like this will be even more evident in Inquisition.

People talk a fair bit about which origin is better, but frankly I think they are all strong in their own ways, and appeal to different tastes. There really is something for everyone in origins, and that was one of its strongest points. DAII, while a good game, has much less flexibility in roleplay.

The DC origin gets "overshadowed" by the DN only in the way that the dwarf nobility all lord over the casteless. The casteless are the most devastated people in DAO, but in the DC origin you're not just an onlooker saying "Aww, poor dwarfies." You're in the thick of it and end up giving the casteless a voice like no other origin can- and with the best sidekick in the game (well, I like Leske anyway, particularly the conversations you can initiate) and a great sister and very memorable mother, not to mention the feats you end up pulling off by the end of it. Definitely a fun origin, and like others say, it brings alive a lot of Orzammar that you wouldn't otherwise see- both in the Origin and the return... and Orzammar is by far the largest Treaty area, so it's also a large portion of the game to bring alive. Anyway the DC is my favorite, so...

The City Elf is as forlorn as the Dwarf Commoner... At least the dwarf only has other dwarfs putting them down. the city elf has some nasty humans to contend with. And any dwarf is more respected than elves by certain humans (Ash Warriors for example).
