And if so, what will that mean in terms of offline-play availability?

I imagine it will use Origin, so there will be a cloud save option. I don't see why it would have any more trouble playing offline than ME3 does.

Basically, some of the calculations of the video game are processed elsewhere.

Your xbox sends the problems that need to be computed to a server somewhere through the internet, the server processes them and sends them back, and the game reacts accordingly. It can allow you to play games with graphics and whatnot that would otherwise overwhelm your system.

I don't think anyone's announced anything like that for Bio games, have they? Cloud storage, sure, but processing?

It's the future of gaming, all right, but I don't think it's here yet.

Eh. Maybe. I think it's more likely that processing will become cheap enough that the delay due to data transfer becomes unnecessary.

Besides, graphics are coming pretty damn close to the standard of cinema. They can't improve forever, and if they get much more realistic, they're going to hit the uncanny valley like a ton of bricks.

Sorry, I should've made it clear that I was talking about cloud processing, not cloud saving.

Seeing as it's also coming to the 360 and other systems where cloud support isn't required, I'm guessing the offline mode will be fine.
