But the catalyst didn't want any money.

To the OP (ignoring any other responses), I say it's worth replaying.

When I did a fresh play through of the game with all the DLC installed (Extended Cut, From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega and Citadel) the story played differently for me.

It genuinely felt like a complete game. The story felt more cohesive and depending on the timing of when you engaged each DLC (I recommend doing Leviathan first (you can do other missions for a while) then doing Omega immediately followed by Citadel then the Cerberus Base/TIM/Kai Leng fight last) seemed to be the best way to get the story pumped up.

Sadly, none of this fixes the lackluster Earth missions, but up till that point, it did make the game feel 'whole' with all the DLC played all at once.

@OP I believe that the game is quite decent with all the DLC.

Though I should remind you that BSN is the worst place on the internet to ask for one's opinion on this matter.

This

If you hate the post-EC ending, just don't think about the ending, and when you get to the ending, just don't pay attention to it.

The game is 40+ hours, the ending is 5-10 minutes, it isn't the end of the world like BSN makes it out to be

Wholly depends on you...I loved the main game story itself and combat just blew me away (normally missions are just something I have to endure to enjoy the story.) All the dlc's mixed in really make the game quite large. Love Omega, but always was fascinated with Aria. Leviathan gives you Reaper origins and a diverse range of gaming environments. Citadel is quite hilarious, especially since a good many of the jokes are derived from discussions on these forums. Playing different romance options, character classes, and mixing up companions on missions helps keep things fresh. Yeah, there's that bit at the end, but I decided not to let that bit of ill-conceived logic ruin the rest of the game.

i loved ALL the DLC and it makes Me3 into a beautifull game IF you are open minded.
Omega: i read that omega was shallow and too combat heavy untill i played it. Omega feels like the terminus systems arc. Combat was fun, new enemies, Aria which i like was a badass, you COULD influence her behaviour by dialogue choices

Leviathan: top Me3 DLC if you ask me, it offers much for the reaper plot, it actually warns you about the catalyst and find it mandatory.

From ashes: i would say the worst due to it;s lenght but Javik i quite cool as a character.

Citadel: It feels disjointed but it gives a nice change of pace from the main war, if one wants to laugh andspend more time with his brothers in space then citadel is the way to go.

Well OP it depends what you want from the DLC's. I got From ashes (With the Bloody 89.99 EC) & Levi. Javik is OKish (Wasted opportunity IMO) & Levi added Sweet **** all as NO ONE speaks about it ever again except from glow boy.

With Levi in terms of gameplay you have a 1 & a half hour ( I Completed it 1:10 on insanity first play through, collecting everything, 55 minutes on the second ) DLC where the dialogue wheel is annoyingly bare bones (My second biggest problem with the main game) with 3 pretty levels Shooting Reaper troops (Hurray) a very small temporary hub & an underwater section that lasts about 1 minute.
With the Story, Shep's dumb as Bricks, Ann Bryson was average & Levi was underwhelming although it makes God Kid's presence at the end tied to SOMETHING in the MEU at least.

I admit I'm kinda a cynical ****** when it comes to games so you probably might want to ask someone else Lol. It depends what camp you are in OP, If you really Like ME3 then you should check them out first then buy the one's you want but if you were disappointed with the game in terms of design or narrative then I personally would not recommend it. Like 40 bucks is a lot for three DLC's.

Initially felt betrayed by their ending but got over that fairly quickly. Own all the dlc and yes it is worth it. The end is what it is and if you still get hung up by it even after all this time well then maybe it is time to move on and never look back again.

Citadel is worth playing regardless of whether or not you do a new playthrough.

i cannot belive that ou finished Lev in 1.10 hours. were you holding down the run button? it took me 5-6 hours in my first time. Omega took me 8 hours.  Me3 vanilla took me 60 hours. This is not CoD, take your time , explore as there is TONS of detail ,dialogue , cameos etc.

@grey_wind

I was in pretty much the same place you were. I played through once initially, got to the ending, and that totally deflated my balloon for the entire series for a while (and it had been one of my favorites up to that point). That was about a week or so after the vanilla game came out, and I ended up "withdrawing" from the series after playing the multiplayer for another week or so.

But here recently, I got bored one eve, and decided to take a look at the game again, and just go ahead and get all the DLC, pull out one of my ME2 characters from storage, and give it another go.

I found myself actually enjoying it all the way through the ending (a week or more?). Don't get me wrong, the ending, even with the extended cut, is still wounded, but I knew that going in, so it didn't hurt in quite the same way once I got to it, and I was able to enjoy most of the game for what it was.

There's no way to completely get over the ending, but I guess the year away, as well as knowing what it was before getting back into the game helped out a lot, and some of the DLC does provide some perspective, and the extended cut gives a bit more context. I don't feel it makes the ending "OK", per se, but it's not quite as out of left field as it felt on the first play through. So I was able to play through it, and even pulled another of my old characters out of cold storage to start a 3rd play through.

And I thought I was a "take my time" player... I honestly cannot, no matter how much I try, hit the 50 hour mark and that includes every DLC (Citadel included).

Omega always takes me 3 to 4 hours, Leviathan 1-1.5 hours.

Then again, I don't care to play Insanity or Hardcore, maybe you do.

Its all guilty fun.
You would enjoy the ride, but still feel incomplete.
You will be able to shoot your own gun in leviathan cutscenes.
but you will have to give in to the avenger on omega.

Citadel is a nice distraction if you like the multiplayer,

All of them are more of a one time play. they are played more like a movie.

Reading codex entries take a lot of times. There also are new game plus files.

I say go for Omega and Citadel.

Leviathan is kinda dumb and you can just read a paragraph about it somewhere and get the same effect.

Omega is kinda dumb too, but it's ridiculously pretty and has some fun fights.

Citadel is perfection in DLC form and should absolutely be played.

It's really up too you, all dlc have some genuinely interesting stuff, except for Omega maybe, which really isn't much more then a shoot-em-up package with some moral side story going on, it's also hillariously overpriced, you can play the others, if you want. though as mentioned before From Ashes is the only DLC actually properly integrated.

I for the most part agree with this, except I liked all of Omega.  The game is still fun, and so is most of the DLC.  Its always worth another playthrough.

Best way to play All the DLCs is this (IMO):

From Ashes should be done immediately before Priority: Palavin

Leviathan should be done Piecemeal starting after Priority: Sur'Kesh (by piecemeal I mean every time you leave the Citadel you do another segement, then do another Priority mission of the main story)

Omega immediately after the Cerberus Coup.

Citadel can be done whenever after the Coup desired, but the party should be held just before the Attack on Cerberus HQ.

Citadel should be done either right before or right after Rannoch, IMO. That way you'll have a full squad for it.

Agree on holding off on the party until after Horizon, though.

Citadel is definitely good. I'd have that be the last thing you play. Don't replay the ENTIRE game just for that.
Leviathan is interesting in some storyline ways but it is just more repetitive gameplay- horde after horde after horde of the same Reaper enemies.
Omega is crap. No choice, no consequence, no humor, no exploration.

That's what I played, it was worth it.  I liked how you got to work with EDI more in Leviathan.  Citadel party was funny.
