It would be nice to have your Warden in

Dragon Age: Inquisition. Reason being is because The grey warden's are at war, the Qunari are attacking, and if you let Sten live he's  leading the army I think. Alistair most likely needs the Warden's help, Morrigion is back, and it would be very poor miss you to bring back the Warden to confront her, or side with her, and this would be a chance for the Warden to explore the world.

Now I am not saying the Warden should be the main character again, although it would be cool if you had a choice to play as the warden, Hawke, or this new character. What you all could do is as the new character you play as save's Thedas, you could have act's or some moment's in the game were you play as the Warden for a bit, and Hawke. Not ideal, but it would be nice, and a miss opportunity to not have the Warden, and yes Hawke. HOwever it's up to you, but It would just feel awesome to play as the Warden one last time if need be.

BioWare wants to go on and needs to appeal to new players. They can't keep being self-referential through all their games.
DA:I won't be a sophisticated fanfic and I've already seen this topic before.

It's strange to read all those whims, desires, hopes and dreams. About romances, multiplayer, continuity, our former heroes and allies... Can't people move on and hope for something entirely new?

Yes, but the fact that the Warden is in this time period alive, depending on your choice, and Hawke.... I mean come on. It would mean that they are just hand waving them away, I am not saying they should be the main character again, but have some roles. It's like your playing as the new main character doing everything you Warden has done, and Hawke, and the new players are like " Who's Hawke, and this Grey Warden?" If Bioware introduces the Warden again, and Hawke, then the new players would most likely go buy and play Dragon age: Origins, and DAII. Also by having the Warden back it would bring back old players that played DA:O, not to mention help promote DA: Inquisition.

Also I said you could have an option to play as the Warden, Hawke, and this new character. If Bioware doesn't add any elfs, or dwarf to play as the new character, then it would be very miss use to bring the Warden back, because your Warden, could be an elf, and a dwarf. Not to mention both Hawke, and the Warden could be mages.....and who's at war? the templars, and the mages. Not to mention it would be nice to meet some old characters.

And how do you know? Did Bioware say it? I am just asking if the Warden is going to be in it.

I'm surprised at home many Bioware writers are replying to this thread ;)

Seriously though, it could go either way. Given the fact that this game takes place in the same timeline as the Warden and Hawke-- there's a good chance they may get a cameo or at the very least a mention. But I don't think they'll return as playable characters. I'd be very surprised if one of them does.

I'm almost positive my male Warden will get a cameo-- he and Morrigan were pretty close enough to screw Ariane over her clan's book-a-ma-jig.

No need to be a BioWare writer. David Gaider here:

If they return (and are alive to do so), it would be as an NPC-- and we've said previously that, if we include them, it would be important to do it right and not as an unsatisfying cameo that would just make the very people they're included for unhappy. If we can't do that, then we just won't have them appear. Whether they appear or not, however, the question of their disappearance will need to be addressed.

Don't expect a "physical" appearance from your Warden or Hawke too much, I think: it's a completely different engine, i.e. a mess to import their face from the former engine.

As long they are in DA3 doing something rather than hearing about them, I am happy.

I just wonder how Bioware want to handle that....

If Hawke and the Warden returning, if Hawke kill the Dalish Warden clan and it is because of Merill....

Hawke can't get away with "I am the Champion of Kirkwal", Merill can't get away with "I want to save Elven history"...my Dalish Warden could wake up from the dead to hunt them down

But lets cut to the chase if bioware would admit that you can play as the warden again from DAO would the fans be angry?

I dont think so, they would just accept it as usuall.

ANGRY? no i would be anything but angry, amazed suprised excited. but i doubt that will happen.  im gonna find out that My Warden is a Darkspawn and Leliana commits a suicide like if u sacrificed yourself in Origins, , Cause thats just how bioware does things

If I want to play Dragon Age: Origins again I have Dragon Age: Origins for that.
Are you afraid of what BioWare has in store for you?

Yeah I remember that quote-- does anyone know if the appearence sliders from DAO or DA2 is saved within a users save file? Would be interesting if that were the case-- different engines or not.

I wouldn't be, but numerous other people would be.
Fans can always find something to rage about.
That being said, they've already established that it won't be the Warden - the Inquisitor will be the new protagonist, the only thing left to reveal now is how the Warden and Hawke fit into that, if they do at all, my assumption was always based on DA2's ending, but since they tossed Exalted March to the wayside there's no telling what direction they're planning to take that now.

I want to see my warden again and hawke even if it's just a blurry image in the back of the battlefield and someone says "Hey was that a grey warden?" and then through out the game our companions would claim to of seen a warden and another person on seperate occasions while in battle

A really cool idea for a Morrigan/Warden romance would be if the Inquisitor decides to fight against Morrigan; during the battle you and your party have the advantage due to numbers and just when s/he strikes to deal the final blow to a battle-weary Morrigan....

... a sword/staff/dagger blocks it at the very last second, revealing the Warden. Ready to defend his love to the death. Man, I would be swooning all day! That's one save point I won't ever delete.

It's that kind of character perspective that having the Warden star in DAI can't ever offer. Personally having previous PC's as NPC's in later installments only enhances the experience for me.
