I have been playing DAO on an older model computer and getting ready to install it on a new computer (w/win8).
My qustions involve the characters I have already made, some of them level 11 or level 12.

I am assuming I can copy the current characters over to the new install ??
By accessing the proper folder and moving them over ??

And since this will be a new install, some of the specializations like Blood Mage and Arcane Warrior will not be unlocked, should I expect some problems if I try to copy over a couple of my characters that already have those specializations??

Or am I better off just starting over with new characters.

I like to have 4 or 5 different characters of different races and set up as Mages  or Rougues.

Thanks

You can copy characters between installations. Your character files are in:
your document folder-> bioware -> dragon age -> characters.
Just put your old character files in there and you should be good to go.

The specializations won't be unlocked unless if you log into your bioware account (I think) but I don't think you'll have any problems, and that your old characters will still have those specializations (if they chose them already) but new ones might have to unlock them.

Finally, if you had any appearance mods (such as skin or eye colors) you might want to install them first or else your character will look really funky.
