I was tired of 'em a while ago. Haven't played Walking Dead nor will play Last of Us... Why? Because the theme of zombies is cliche and damn boring, it doesn't even have any possibility of substance to it. If there're good zombie games it's because of other elements, zombies don't have anything to do with it.

Luckily, Walking Dead and Last of Us's themes stay pretty far away from the undead / infection which they advertise.

The only good "zombie" esque games these days are games that don't focus on them, but instead focus on other things like the battle between survivors during an apocalyptic scenario or stuff like that(Telltale's The Walking Dead game for example).

Though Left 4 Dead was fun.

Still, zombies have been played out for a while now, I wish they'd just...

...die.

Well, crap.

I was actually being sincere, or well, it actually *was* good to know.

Don't know if I'll ever get to the Last of Us though.

But yes, the most apparent reason for that would be my lack of a PS3. (Yet if the prices go down and I'll buy one as planned, I'm doubtful if Last of Us is such a must-have everyone say 'tis...)

I believe Romero created the definitive, horrifying, flesh eating lore of zombiedom. Just about everything zombie goes back to his concept. The old voodoo kind didn't have the staying power. There are rare exceptions (Return of the Living Dead, The Walking Dead), but they have been, for a long time now, a dime a dozen in movies and games. So much so, I'm afraid it's become the ultimate horror/action game crutch. Make a game. A game with zombies. BAM. 90% done. The checklist is naturally born.

Hordes of zombies, check. Guns, check. Machetes, check. Chainsaws, check. Splatter, check. I'm bored.

Yes, all those things go together with zombies like peanut butter and jelly, but I'm tired of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I don't care if you add a new gimmick or element, comedy, or lower the weapon count to call it 'survival horror'. Just.... retire them. For awhile atleast. There's a big fat encyclopedia of horror lore out there to experiment with. Some are trying, but zombies are still plastered all over the place.

tl;dr.. I'm sick of zombies. And my favorite horror movie to this day is still Dawn of the Dead '78. Imagine that.

the world seems to be addicted to zombies lately hehe :o

I guess you could say, it's infectious

I wouldn't mind seeing a resurgence of good werewolf movies.
