Oops forgot to enter text.
Well don't get me wrong I adore Tali she has grown and has a nice hips lol but I can't get over the fact of her cult like following.
She wears a helmet and really what's she even look like under the mask?
You could be dating some ugly ass monster idk.
(not counting the ****ty stock image off google)
Also her accent and voice as they like is nothing special like what lol it's odd. I can't explain this but at least to me I dislike her voice.
I respect Tali and she has grown through the games but SO HAS GARRUS JACK MIRANDA THANE LIARA ESPECIALLY EVEN KOLYAT so it's not like her character developmemt is THE BEST over all maybe some but DEFITNELY not all.
Well I know I seem I'm flaming but I'm not I like Tali but I wonder why she gets so much attention when the Mass Effect universe has FAR more intruiging characters.
Like Blasto the Hanar.

Can't speak for everyone, but I like her because I like the Quarians. If there was a male Quarian squad member, then I would use him just as much as I would Tali.

As far as I've seen most squadmates have their own followings, both on the BSN and other places on the internet. Some people like quarians and others like asari more, for example.
Liara and Miranda seem to be just as popular, if not more popular, judging from some of the BSN polls I've seen.

Dem hips.
Don't listen to people citing her mysteria, the "intriguing" facets of Quarian lifestyle or anythiong else. They're all staying for those hips.

I personally really love her personality. As a fellow engineer, I really like Quarian culture and I find Tali to be really cute in personality. I'm not going to like a character just over their physical appearance, that means a lot less to me than their actual character.
And those hips
PS: I actually like her accent haha, a lil' odd I'm sure but I do. Tali >>>> any other female character. Liara and Kasumi are semi-not-really-close 2nd/3rds.

No cult for me.
I like Tali because she's heavily inspired by Aerie from Baldur's Gate 2, who has a similar personality. I enjoy both characters. The hips and stuff, well, that's Bioware. Look what they did to Isabella in DA2.

The Accent I believe is Russian-like or some form of it and I personally like Tali, never understand why people need them to be hot to be likeable.
I love how the Quarians have survived as victims of Exile and Tali has that innocent, sheltered girl type of feel on ME1 and that's endearing, like Liara's persona on ME1, but they are both more emotionally grown up in ME2 and more so in ME3.
I like both Liara and Tali equally, if I roll a male shepard, I always romance Tali in the end and when I role female, I romance liara, all the other romance options are not really interesting to me.

Quarians are filthy primitives and deserve to be shot and dumped in a mass grave.
