The ME3 approach being 'give straight male players nearly twice as many options as lesbian players, and more than six times as many options as gay male players or straight female players'?

Sounds like real life demographics. Kudos to BW for that.

Irrelevant to the point. Real-life proportions should have no bearing on the availability of romance options for either orientation in video games.

Because your character can be straight or gay. A straight player won't necessarily play a gay character and vice versa.
Therefore demographics don't apply.

You're roleplaying, not being.

Being a member of a minority group doesn't make one any less deserving of content tailored to their audience.

But I already know this post is wasted on you.

Lesbian Shep had more viabal options than straight femshep actually.

Yes, that's what I said. Read it again.

The prevalence of lesbian options over gay male and straight female options just proves beyond any doubt that the romances in the ME series exist for the titllation of the straight male audience, not to provide any sort of in-depth characterisation, and certainly not for any sense of 'realism', despite what the ignorant may claim.

Except that they are,BW makes a luxury item based on supply and demand and unless a company wants to go bankrupt, the majority always wins.

Man, you must really hate economics. It must suck to go through life for you.

Again, irrelevant to the point.

The majority isn't complaining about the inclusion of LGBT options in the game, so I sincerely doubt they are going to go bankrupt for including options for the minorities

In fact, I'd go so far as to say a very small (yet vocal) minority is opposed to it.

Frankly, they should sit down and shutup.

I'll take a stab at this, although it's sure to end badly. The reason is probably the same as the reason why you shouldn't give twice as much content to paragons as to renegades, although two thirds of ME players played as mostly paragons.

EDIT: Fixed quote

But I want my Jacob hair options in vidya gaems! I mean come on! How hard is it to offer short hair with a dope edge up!? A lot of video games have shunned the urban youth! I demand compensation for this wrongdoing!

Man, you must really hate economics. It must suck to go through life for you.

Economics has nothing to do with what it means to 'deserve' something. That's why my posts are wasted on you, you don't actually understand the argument at all. Not every design decision is based on economics anyway. Bioware, at least the team that works on Dragon Age, has stated that they make their games as inclusive as possible because it is the right thing to do. Economic viability doesn't factor into the equation.

Not to mention, you don't actually understand how economics works.

Unless you're claiming that all heterosexual gamers are bigots that actively campaign for Bioware to strip all 'gay' presence from the games, then there's no economic incentive whatsoever for them to give homosexual audiences any less content than the heterosexual audience gets. Adding homosexual content only serves to broaden the game's appeal, except for the bigot audience, which, according to public statements made at various gaming conventions, they have no interest in appealing to. And if the heteosexual audience are not bigots, then there's no reason for them to oppose the inclusion anyway.

Is the heterosexual audience all bigots? Are you claiming that?

Clock him. I'll never understand why people think BioWare is shooting itself in the foot for being more progressive.

Well, romances tend to be more personal compared to Paragon or Renegade "choices" or content.   I rarely saw threads complaining about that.

So if we'd match up the numbers for each orientation we'd be good right? I mean that wouldn't make the romances any more in-depth than they are, but if we're just trying to get equal titillation for everyone I have no major objections so long as not everyone is protag sexual.
