What type of male love interest do you want in Dragon Age Inquistion?

Cullen is gonna have like PTSD, rofl. /= I don't see his story ending well. I remember, at the Chantry in Denerim there was that templar who was supposed to have retired to Val Royeaux years ago. But he didn't, and he still takes Lyrium... He was "spacey", his mind totally gone. Cullen will end up like that.. If he stops Lyrium, he'll go crazy. If he doesn't, he'll just.."go" mentally. S= His romance would have a lot of heartbreak to offer. =D

There's no harm in fantasising or speculating. These forums are primarily for fan discussion. Bioware may choose to implement some suggestions/feedback, but this space really is more for players than it is for developers.Thief-of-Hearts wrote...

Maybe a male love interest that was exclusively gay or one that was exclusively straight? Why did Kirkwall have everyone doing the Bi shuffle?
As for my choices, maybe a Fenris or Alistair or Sebastian. Even with the clichés I liked the white knight thing Alistair had, Fenris was like a wounded wild animal you wanted to take care of and why the hell are no male dwarves romancable?!
A character type like Loghain and Sebastian would be great, a noble that isn't evil, would be a great romance too.

Why hate Dwarves?
Well, I don't actually hate dwarves. People say I do, however, so it must be true.
Still not interested in making a romance for them, however, though Varric was tempting.

From that, I would assume we're not getting one this upcoming game (though I don't know how much of the writing direction he actually has control over) (I know he writes (a lot), but is it only at his own direction?) ... maybe next go around...

Why put Varric in the game just to tempt?
And that's really not fair, just cause he has no interest, doesn't mean fans don't. Besides that, it seems like a sick joke when you hear that human/dwarf relations or at least sex does happen in game, but you ain't ever getting in on that action.

I'm just for a LI that I won't feel obligated to save or need me to save them. I would love an LI who would put forth effort in molding the relationship. If not that I would love someone like Joel from 'The Last of us'
Just finished that game. He would be a great LI, it would also be great to have a romance where, since you were involved with them, they would give you extra support or protect you more in combat just cause you're so dear to them.

I have four completed dwarf playthroughs of Origins ... none of them are chaste. d:
All of them are devout, however.
Their sense of honor, culture, equality and their acceptance of "concubines" are all completely interesting.
I love his work to death, but sometimes he says things that just upset me:
David Gaider wrote...
Tancred Of The Chantry wrote...
I think Gaider's point is that ultimately, from a creative standpoint, he is against a love interest that exists solely as an object of desire for the player.
My point is that if your objective is to make us want to create such a romance, then espousing an interest that obviously goes no deeper than their race isn't the way to do it. That's no different than someone asking for a big, muscular male character to romance, or "a dwarf"... or saying "I'd like a black woman to romance."
In fact, I'd use the word "romance" rather loosely in that context, because what you're really asking for is a sex scene. And if you think BioWare romances are all about getting it on with a character of your choice, that's great-- but it wouldn't entice me or any other writer to want to make it happen for you. If the alternative is someone accusing me of being prudish or "arty", then so be it. Having the romance be reduced to the equivalent of some body parts is about as artless as I can imagine.
If that's not your stance, or why you want the romance, then great. You've nothing to worry about, so long as you think about what you're saying. That is what I see in a number of these requests, however... so to that I'll simply say that if you're expectation is that we developers should be thrilled to become your virtual pimps, that's simply not the case. The fixation on romance displayed in these forums is borderline distasteful as it is, and certainly not limited to requests for female qunari-- I'd rather not encourage such requests if people actually believe they'll have results that aren't the opposite of what they intend.

First: I would want to romance a dwarf or be the dwarf in a romance for more than just their physical appearance / stature. In fact, in the case of Origins, when playing a female dwarf, it may have been "in spite of their physical appearance." The head morphs could be great, but the proportions on the body were ... unusual. The male dwarf behinds were the weirdest ...
Second: I cannot believe he had to say "black woman." There would be nothing wrong with wanting to romance a black woman. I can't say anything more or my opinions will be loaded with my upset over the comment.
Third: Sexual preference is not racism, and does not (need to be) kink.
Lastly: Bioware romances are so much more satisfying than a sex scene ... and I can't believe he wouldn't see that, writing them as he does. For people who are alone or have less than romantic parteners, a good book or video game provides an internal satisfaction that I would not call sexual. Like cocoa in a cold storm.

I'd say someone like Joker from Mass Effect without being crippled. That or a blood mage who serves as evidence blood magic can be used for benevolent reasons. Like making a hostage taker cut out his own eyes to make rescuing the hostages easier.
Even if he were crippled! Joker was able to engage in explicit behaviours with a hunk of metal (Not that I didn't love EDI. They were even a cute couple, but the lack of a Joker romance was disappointing.). I adore[d?] Joker! But I might have had my fill of sarcastic mages.
I love your second comment. I pictured a '24'-esque stand off. Someone with a megaphone. Highly unorthodox way of keeping the peace...
