I am so confused.. So, the first one was Star Wars The Phantom menace.
Here is a new one....
Group of men space travelers meet father and daughter (not on earth), father has a big head, daughter is an idiot, Cool robot, Cool ID monster....
~EDITED~ This should have been "Father has a big BRAIN, not head...

Here's one according to Stan's recipie which I hope is poor enough:

There's this damaged gal who doesn't want to go back. But she feels she can't trust the soldiers, so she does and finds a kid. The commander is an idiot so everything goes to pieces. The gal takes charge but everybody still dies, except the kid and a good looking hunk. To escape she still has to climb into a machine to fight a monster.

once upon a time, this guy was a freedom fighter who lost his new wife and his people loved him, a trusted ally betrayed him, and it ended badly for him..... Not his people.....
