When The Rock debuted(before he even had that ring name), he was the goody two shoes kind of character that Cena is, and he got booed just the same.

Why? Because PEOPLE DIDN'T WANT THAT KIND OF CHARACTER.

So what happened? He underwent a rewrite, went out there as more of himself, became heelish, and what did we end up with?

One of the most legendary superstars in WWE history.

Cena's only going to be "legendary" because thats what WWE wants him to be- not because the World wants him to be.

I could join WWE right now, and they could write me in to win titles left and right, be in WWE title matches every year at Wrestlemania, and constantly be shot over the moon, but if the fans don't like me, they don't like me.

I'd want to change that. I'd want them to like liking me or like disliking me. Not get tired of me being around.

And fans have been tired of Cena being around for a good 8 years or so. Most of his bloody career.

Thats pathetic.

Daniel Bryan- Thats an example of a face that works, that people are actually behind and supporting.

You don't hear him getting booed by half of the audience because they don't want to see him.

Too be honest, I used to love watching wrestling, but it went down hill after Attitude Era in my opinion.

Also, Cena as an actual person, not the WWE persona, is a great man, from what I've read and seen. What he does for fans and never saying "no" to a fan asking for an autograph. He always has time for them, which I respect greatly.

I've never had a problem with him as a superstar, I find he does an excellent job at performing what needs to be done, but my problem is, he tends to be the "fallback" wrestler that always tends to stay in that "top zone". Though, as I don't mind it too much, I do not find any of the new wrestlers interesting, so that is basically why I haven't watched anything. That one wrestler who basically is a Goldberg 2.0, I forgot his name, makes me laugh, lol.

Yeah, my problem with the Cena character is how the company uses him, really.

Also, how he's exempt from certain rules.

Years ago, WWE superstars were supposed to show up at some place for a meeting or whatever, and they were all told to dress formal.

Except Cena. He came in his street clothes(shirt, jorts, sneakers).

CM Punk didn't like that, so he showed up in his street clothes too.

WWE didn't like that, so they punished him. By having Undertaker win the World Heavyweight Title from him.

Its part of the reason why I still go back to watch his from the heart speech on June 27th, 2011, where he aired his grievances following no script(though the mic cut was scripted).

That was one of the best promos I've ever seen in my entire life.

WWE needs to allow more performers to just go out there and say what they want to say instead of having them rigidly follow a script written by some dude in Connecticut.

This.
Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Kane, Triple H, Shawn. M, Angle and etc. These are the guys that made Attitude Era dbest and crowd was 100x times more epic and loud, unlike today.

This is true. I don't know if anyone else saw the post-WM RAW this year, but it was a legendary crowd (it usually is), and Cena had a fantastic time playing off the crowd. He can be really charismatic when he's not playing a baby face. Also good footage of YT of him thanking the crowd after the show and just having fun in general.

John Cena Deserves everything he has accomplished. It don't matter if he buries superstars or not.
