 So it occurred to me that the world of Dragon Age may actually be fitting for vampires. The genre is already circling around Dark Fantasy and we have seen an effective DA Version of Werewolf in DA:O, plus games like Skyrim have already shown that you can add Vampires without turning everything into Vampire: La Masquerade. 

So what about meeting some kind of Vampires' underworld community in DA:I? Or perhaps even have the possibility to BE one of them as per selectable background option? I assume that probably DA:I is already packed with the multiple factions at war and the Demon Invasion, but that doesn't mean that Vampires couldn't make an appearence though. 

Would you like Vampires in your Dragon Age? Or are you absolutely against 'em?

omg i would love vampires i still play vampires the masquerade redemption that game was awesome that and there's not any good vap games out there anymore like that so ya since they had werewolf's it would be kinda interesting to see some vamps too as some sort of demons and such but i doubt BW will consider it tho

To be honest I think this would be really interesting and, if done right, would be totally welcome. We already have werewolves and they fit quite well with the story so why not? At the same time I doubt it's likely considering most of DA:I will probably be all demons, abominations, blood mages, etc. But the doesn't rule out the possibility in future games...

The werewolves they had a good story for and they fit in. Vampires, though... I don't really see them fitting into DA very well tbh...

Besides, vampires have been done to death the last few years, so unless they come up with some idea that is way far away from the generic vampire stuff, it won't work. I suppose they could have a demon that is based on vampires, maybe.

umm not really that much  in gamingin. Movies and tv shows ya but not so much in gaming tho the only good vamp games were vampire the masquarade redemption/ bloodlines, blood rayne, and legacy of Kaine so ya theres very few vamp games

Hm, I thought I read somewhere that in Thedas a vampire would basically be a person/corpse possessed by a hunger demon.

Could have made it up in my head, however.

Anyway, as much as I like vampires (the, erm, non-sparkling variety), I think they'd feel out of place in Dragon Age. Just my opinion, though.

Maybe not in gaming, but in pretty much every other media. You should see the amount of vampire e-books on Amazon, they're everywhere! And they're all a new retelling of Twilight...

If they do for some reason include vampires, I'd want them to be completely different from the current trend. They should be purely bad and evil, no romances, just kill them all! I much prefer Bram Stoker's take on vampires.

The DEV's have already stated that the closest we will get to vampires are the Fanged Skeletons and Corpses possessed by Hunger Demons.

I feel like DA's lore and setting and storylines are already fairly crowded. I'm not opposed to the idea of introducing new elements, like vampires, but we need to sort of "thin it out" a bit before cramming more in there.

A vampire in DA is just a living non-mage person possessed by a hunger demon.

I don't particularly care whether we have vampires in DA or not.

...But I'd give my left foot for another Vampire: TM game. I've been longing for it for what feels like centuries. *cries silently into her pillow*

That's true. Maybe with the addition of new demon types (that was confirmed by devs, right?) we'll get to see vampires, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too much if I were you

That's true. Maybe with the addition of new demon types (that was confirmed by devs, right?) we'll get to see vampires, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too much if I were you

lol ya i know as u said IF they  would add vamps in the game it would have to be very specific to the lore  but still i think its fun to think about it tho, now weather or not they will consider it  thats tottaly up to them

In a way Vampires are demons, maybe a new demon will turn out to be a vampire lord

I hope not. I'd rather the Bioware team came up with something more original.. If there's some cult of weirdos drinking blood and hiding from the sun, then whatever. ,_, Sounds like something that would exist in Tevinter, actually.
