I did read it. This is how I understood it; it pointed out Demonic Possessions. I really don't think Demonic Possessions are indicators of Vampires in DA.

Vampires may be in DA, I mean it seems Red Jenny maybe a group of them.

I can't find any hint that the Friends of Red Jenny "may be a group" of vampires. They are more of like a vigilante group or something (mugging muggers in DA2) and Jenny may just be another assassin of some sorts.

I can't see any point wherein there are traces of vampires there.

EDIT: Typos

Allright, thanks to n7stormrunner for this, I'll post it for more clarity:

From the Dragon Age Wikia:

Next are the demons of hunger. In a living host they become cannibals and vampires, and within the dead they feed upon the living. Theirs are the powers of draining, both of life force and of mana.

I'd also like to address all these complains about Vampires trophes being "overdone". It appears that recently there have been a huge wave of vampires deconstructivism where our beloved bloodsuckers where depicted as being tormented heroes, good guys with hearts of gold or (to put it simply) erotic dreams.

That's not what I want to see. I don't want to see yet another ubersexy Vampire ruling the show, I'd like to see a proper spin on Vampires with BioWare's take on Fantasy Vampires. The Hunger Demon lore is interesting. Do they become Nosferatu-like when they are possessed or do they retain their human looks? What powers they gain? It won't hurt to add some cool designs for Vampiric armors and clothes but that's where my curiosity lies.

I don't want another Edward Cullen or even another Spike from Buffy, but since Vamps are already there I would really like to see 'em. Werewolves were a typical Ferelden historical threat... it appears to me that Orlais, with the masks, the Noble houses and the constant games of deception and treachery could be especially fitting for the Vampire's first appearence.

Oh, that but in the game they were more or less generic Shades. It was never indicated they were vampires. It was only implied since they were Hunger Demons.

As far as I'm concerned, Vampires exist in DA, codex-wise. If ever they'll make an appearance in DA:I, well, let's just see how it turns out. ^_^

Well, IIRC Shades are demons that have NOT found a proper host and so they wander with, more or less, their Fade form.

I'm not sure about it, but I think we never actually faced "Vampires", as in "living mages possessed by Hunger Demons". We've yet to see one and that's why they can go all kind of ways with Vampires in Dragon Age.

agreed - at least for the most part

i how ever like the idea of a vampire fighting his nature and trying to be a good guy (Edward Cullen i don't much like though - the character does not have enough flaws to be believable IMHO...my favourite Cullen therefore is JASPER - he who slips up sometimes and kills people and he who has an even bigger chance of slipping up in the vicinity of other vampires because of his empathy-gift, meaning he feels the bloodlust of all of them and has trouble with it)

yes i would like some "bad" vampires (hunger demons would be a good start here - but there should be other types as well, like desire-demon possessed people who also feed on the living but do not kill them (the dead have no desires left!) and pride demons (meaning the "vampire"-type depends on the possessing demon) but also good vamps who try to deny their nature (i like this struggle kind of thing...IMHO a character who always has to fight his/her instincts and is all the better for it (as such characters know how it is to be the bad guy) are really really cool :)

all in all, i would welcome vampires (come on we have werewolfes already, so why not introduce the other side of this?)

greetings LAX

Desire Demons already do this now and then - remember that group of Templars in the Circle that was sitting around one? Worshipping at her feet?
Also the one Templar that believed he was happily married with children, but actually it was the Desire demon's hold over him.
As for the Cullens, they were pretty much the munchkins among vampires - all of the benefits, while they easily shrugged off the disadvantages, except for Jasper like you mentioned.

I think they've mentioned it's an entirely new IP - so the chances of that happening are pretty small.
That doesn't mean it can't be vampire-based, it just wouldn't be World of Darkness (unless new IP simply means it's one they've never worked with).

I hope not. I'd rather the Bioware team came up with something more original.. If there's some cult of weirdos drinking blood and hiding from the sun, then whatever. ,_, Sounds like something that would exist in Tevinter, actually.

I already though that did that to thier slaves from what Fenris tells PC.

But I too wouldn't like them entering the game, vamps are out of the rotation right now because Twilight destoryed their image.. And only in a few years will it be acceptable for them to return as badass.
Till then, no thank you.

But if they designed vamps along the same lines as Vampire Hunter D novels or even Hellsing Ultimate, where they are more monster than vamp, then they may stand a chance.

I feel like a lot of vampire things over-lap with blood mages already, making them unnecessary.

I actually have been thinking that BioWare's mysterious new IP is an RPG around vampires (amongst other supernatural stuff).

Just a hunch, based on absolutely nothing.

Bioware making a vampire RPG... that would be... magnificent.

I'm hoping the new IP is set in contemporary times. They've covered the future, they've covered the "past" so I'd really like to see Bioware's take on today. Albeit a little AUey. Cuz vampires.

I.would.******.my.pants.

Like, imagine Vampires: TMB, but with Bioware's level of character development and interaction.
I get a tingly sensation down yonder just thinking about it.

(I think it's time to replay Bloodlines. I have yet to play as a Nosferatu.)

My poor Nos never tend to get very far, I'm too much of a Toreador and Ventrue player. Oh, and Malks of course!
I really wish that game had been more of a success than it was, and that it would've saved Troika. =/
