I've been working with conversations and stuff, and I've got a question

I have a npc with conversation added to the party camp by code, and I want to add a stage for it. But as far as I know there is no way to add a stage by code (I really don't want to edit the party camp area). Using the stage in the conversation just sends me flying to a empty space in the area. What can I do to add the stage without editing the area?

I haven't done a whole lot of work with stages, but the acl_1p stage is what's used for "dynamic" conversations, and seems to use whatever the current location is when the conversation is initiated. Have you tried adding that stage to the beginning of the dialogue (it's inherited throughout the rest of the sub-trees)? Click the "..." next to Stage on the Cinematics tab, acl_1p.stg is in the _Dynamic directory.

No, it didn't work, same "sent my character to an empty space in the map" error. Curiously enough the other "dynamic" stage works (dog_1), I duplicated, and edited it. The only problem now is that the conversation teleports me to dog's location on camp. Where exactly do I change the location of the stage?

My god...i almost cried when i found this one.

I had the same problem, and after seeing this post, i searched for hours on those _Dynamic folder stage...

The answer is in fact in the conv interface : select your root node, go to the "Cinematics" tab.

In the stage field select your stage (self made or copy whathever), next you can see a Tag field and next to it....a check box named :"At Current location"...check it and your stage will play correctly.

Note : you'll have to place one of the actor (i placed the pnj) à the 0,0,0 location of the stage

This only worked partially, my character stays in place, but the camera still goes to hell. I have tried pretty much every variation in settings that I can think of, but no positive results so far :crying:

Edit:
Fixed by following instructions from
this thread.
