I don't want my female PC to be 'feminine' She's a warrior, she isn't gonna be prancing about in a dress to go to some nonsensical ball or trying to slap on make-up when demons are trying to bash down her door.

Cleavage? One of the things I hated about Isabela was the utterly ridiculously outfit she was wearing; it's like the devs would think we forgot she was a woman if her legs and boobs weren't hanging out.

If this is implemented, I would strong want it to be a choice; I don't want my PC being forced to tart her way past guards just because she has a pair of ******.

Womans beauty can do a lot more things than swords.
I approve of OPs idea.

A punch in the face works better than having your PC being forced to sleaze her way past guards purely because she's female.

You can get punched back, attract unwanted attention, etc. Ladies charms work better.
But it shouldn't be forced, I agree with you. Just stating some bonuses.

It won't work on demon invasion, though.

Have you seen the PC punch people? Or use a Murder Knife?

"Ladies charms" I would find it incredibly gross. I don't want my PC to be a tart like Isabela. Just blegh

If it's an option, it should be for both genders though.

Yes, I have. Combat came next from time to time.
I never said our female inquisitor version has to be an Isabela type. The word "beauty" doesn't stand next to her. Their is more gentle meaning in it.
Both genders? Explain.

Dresses as an optional outfit and long hair styles as a possibility- sure. A protagonist who looks like an anorectic teenager with a cleavage that will make the ****** spill out in a fight, no thanks.

I doubt it. I doubt clothing in Qunari society is allowed to be anything at all other than practical.

I wonder what the practicality of the exposed underboob and midriff of this is...

Umm, blame Varric? Anyway, I'm all for more options, considering new game would be even less mod friendly.

I still wouldn't like it. Unless it is completely option and for both.

Of course she could.
I get that. Well, there is no need for male versions. They look masculine enough.
Unless you are talking about putting a dress on them as well :D

Witcher 2 is a masterpiece in every way.

Oh my freaking god I LOVE this thread.

Self-righteous guys who think that respecting women is done by making them 100% equal to men in every way shape or form and to deny them of every aspects of being a woman.

Guys being respectful towards the other gender isnt done like that it's done by ACCEPTING the differences and realising that it's not a big deal if you don't have the same tastes!

I do not remember if it was Socrate or Platon who said that "perfect equality is the worst of all inequality" it's like saying that you want to make handiccaped people equal by not giving them any means to make their life easier (like elevators) because you don't want them to be treated differently!

That's not how it works, you just got to take into account that women and men are not always attracted by the same stuff and it's okay!

It's totally normal for a woman to want her character to act more feminine what is really really wierd is seeing guys saying that it's totally unacceptable.
Denying women the fact that they are different isnt being respectful

gees

We don't know anything about the ecosystems of Par Vollen or Seheron, so who knows? Maybe Qunari have tougher skin, maybe they developed insect repellant.

But when people go on tropical holidays today, they don't wrap themselves up in sacks.

Mae is a transgendered character from the Dragon Age comics. Her real name is Maevaris Tilani and she helps Varric take down a nutcase of a magister getting high of dragon blood.

the thing about this thread is that we would like to HAVE THE OPTION  to have those kinds of outfits no one said  that IT HAS to be forced on everyone  if me or anyone else that wants to look feminine in their own kind of way  and if that means showing cleavage or whatever  cool so be  it  i would love it to have it as an OPTION  i dont wanna look like a truck all the time

If it's optional, I don't see a problem.

My fem PCs were a bit too stereotypically feminine for my personal liking, with their runway model hip sway and fragile looking arms. I liked that they were at least able to wear bulky armor.

I understand there are people with different tastes than me, though, so I'm all for more "feminine" clothing options, provided they're optional and also available for guys.

I think there are two different issues here - how the character looks when out on a job - their normal look so to speak - and how they are portrayed when relaxing.
Apart from mages, who could have more customised robes depending on male or female, most professions are going to go for practicality. Leaving aside Isabella's rather strange choice of attire in DA2 (in Origins she was kitted out appropriately for her profession), armor is not going to be particularly flattering. You can probably do a bit more with leather or buckskin than chain but it is there to cover the form and help protect it. So I'd be happy just being allowed to determine the colour and symbols/badges/crests, if any, of my clothing.
However, where the plot allows for casual attire, then I think they could do better than in DA2 for a female character. In your mansion you were restricted to a tunic and trousers and that was the same in Mark of the Assassin, even though a female character wearing such clothing to an Orlesian party made them stick out like a sore thumb, when you were meant to be blending in. Having an area where you could set up your casual wear in advance (like in Mass Effect 3) would be a good idea and even the possibility of buying additional items, if that is your choice, to add to the customisation. However, that said, I hope that if they do this, they do not assume that feminine means skin tight leather mini dress. That was enough to make my Shepard choose a more formal "masculine" suit every time.
