So this is what people want from DA:Inquisitor? Seriously? I'm sure those shorts and the bra will provide excellent protection against a two-handed sword swung by a Qunari.

what im saying is, this is a game not rl its not like if ur character
dies u will too, if i want my PC to look like a skank then whatever i
would like to have that option if u want ur PC to look like a truck
then by all means have a ball i just want to have THE OPTION to make my
PC to look the way i want no one is forcing u to put on  clothing like
that if u dont want too, there is this thing called  "CHOICE"

Yeah, this is BSN. Good luck trying to suggest healthy characteristics of normal red-blooded women, like "femininity" etc., are nothing to be ashamed of. =]

I've never seen the fluffy blue bathrobe, though.  Do you have a link?

They are the same ones Bethany wears when she goes to the Circle.
This robe is female only too.

There's also some robes for female Hawke that look like the DAO female mages robes. So actually quite a few mage robes are not the same for male and female Hawke.

Thank you, that's it. :wizard:

The weird plate over the lower abdomen always made me wonder... what purpose does it serve?

Then, listening to Wynne in DA:O and how liasons are frowned upon and they have ways to "prevent" conception, it occurred to me: it's a magically enchanted contraceptive of some kind.

I don't think enough people play as a female protagonist for this to be a big deal.

I'd prefer if they use their time for a better story and gameplay. Looking nice comes later.

I think you're taking the word "feminity" as something bad and weak. It's not. A woman can be feminine AND kick ass just fine.

Well - i have never met an overly girly woman who could kick ass (and was playing video-games), so i would say no (it's not impossible, but it never happened to me).

Even more if the Women in Question is a Warrior (Rogues i could understand, as being girly can distract guards etc.), wears METAL-ARMOR all day long (i would say that a woman who loves wearing armor would not be caught DEAD in a dress or any other girly type of clothing (night gowns, bikini etc.) because that would make her vulnerable and someone used to armor would IMHO never dress up in anything that is uncomfortable and completly impractical (a dresses and heels are the most stupid items of clothing ever invented for me)...such a women who is used to fighting, would never wear something that impedes her and makes it impossible to defend herself (i would love for people who like dresses and heels to show me how you fight in them - i would even give you a knive and would stay unarmed myself and i can guarantee you, that you would lose ;) (and i am not used to knive-fighting myself))

greetings LAX
ps: it should still be an option for those that want it, but i want to be able to decided that my female characters DO NOT WEAR DRESSES and SKIRTS ever!

You might be surprised how many actually do play female character but i agree that story and gameplay is more important though and i hardly think it goes much resources or time to create clothes that suits each gender more than in DA2, though i personally don't care atm.

yes sure, because the designing team for clothing/outfits totally works on the combat mechanics and on the scenario, oh and they also record VA after lunch...

God you guys have no idea how making a video game actually works it's not because they add more diversity to one side that mathematicaly another side will suffer because they aren't done by the same people at all.
Plus it's a perfect time to ask for more diverse outfits/animations as the art team is the first one to be done with a game, instead of just twitching their thumbs they usually work on additional content (like weapons and all in FPS, armors in RPGs, etc) for DLC/pre-order bonuses

Thank god I wasn't the only one that hated that dress. And the way she moved in it, was.. -Shudder-

Yea, but how much later? Or even not at all? And if these things aren't designed along the way, they might just have difficulty making it work later, like Shepard's dress in ME3. It was a disaster.
I do want them to spend alot of time on gamplay and story, but small details are important too.

I like the sound of that. And yes, definitely for a rogue. The best rogue in the entirety of Thedas, I'd reckon.

I thought that it was more about Female Hawke's casual attire in MoTA. Which just reinforces the impression that i have, which is that she is a Tom boy and doesn't have the opportunity to be feminine if the player decides.

Oh boy.

No one 'loves' wearing armor. It's heavy and uncomfortable. People wore it because they didn't want to die. And they got out of it as soon as they could.

The notion that someone who wears armor to battle would never dress in anything that is not completely functional is just about the biggest nonsense I've ever heard. Clearly, no noble ever wore flashy and impractical clothing, given that they also wore armor on the battlefield.

Clearly, no female soldier who wears a bulletproof vest in a combat situation would ever even dream of wearing a dress when she's not in combat.

customization and clothing options have always been a problem in BW games. it always seemed you had to play JRPGs in order to get great customization options for customizing body types and clothing or play Saints Row the 3rd.

There is one regard in which less femininity would be appreciated: Animations.

Good grief... Was LadyHawk a warrior or a fashion model? There are differences in the gait between the typical male and typical female, but DA2 had the all too common exaggeration of it.

This is fine as an option, so long as male characters also have the option to wear "sexy" outfits. Perhaps as DLC outfits, or prize outfits.

But regular armor/outfits should be gender neutral.

The ability to wear a dress instead of a unisex outfit when you go to a fancy party or are hanging out at home would be nice. Just as long as it's not something like the horrible and unflattering hooker dress from Mass Effect 3.

I know most players probably just want to slay dragons but I have always liked the dressup-dolly aspects of RPGs, although I think armor worn into battle should look practical.

Okay, gender ("womanhood") is a social construction... it is something that we have created/fashioned and may choose to adhere to. But a female gamer does not necessarily wish to conform to cultural notions of "womanhood," so just be careful with using such a term, and try not to include "all women" in that statement.

Suggesting that conforming to notions of femininity is "normal" should also be avoided.

I know of several very girly/feminine women who both kick ass and play video games. They just don't tend to announce their hobbies very loudly (it still seems to come as a surprise to most people when they realise women play computer games).

Getting women to play games is a good way to expand the market and make more sales. I believe being able to play as a female character who looks good and has access to pretty clothes (without going all silly) is a good way to attract women gamers, give them a good first impression and then win them over with a good story and good gameplay.
