I really found it hard to be sympathetic to Tali and her people considering they sort of brought the Geth rebellion upon themselves.

Agreed, and what's worse is that the more they try and rationalize what happened in their favor the worse they make their actions look. Still you can't really blame Tali for thinking that way, seeing as a deep seeded hatred for the Geth was probably drilled into her brain by her elders from a very young age. I hope we get a chance to change her views on the matter like we could with Ashley in the first game. Or at least convince her that having Lgeion around would be the perfect opportunity for her to 'study' Geth evolution - and possibly learn something that will help them regain their homeworld some day.monopolydog wrote...

I know. They remind me a lot of children in that respect. They just don't want to make amends for what they did to the galaxy. Stupidly running around in a migrant fleet when they could just colonize a system. Then after they make all these mistakes they go and blame the Geth. The Geth are like wtf? We just wanted to talk philosphy crazy organics, you guys started trying to kill us.monopolydog wrote...

It is an interesting juxtaposition of the mindless death machines most people claim them to be yet they have small sects of highly religious Geth probably wanting to live in peace. And if you didn't know the Geth pray to strange glowing orbs of light you find on Feros and another in the Hades Gamma cluster in a mine. Both are surrounded by alters that appear to be Reaper "arms".

That's exactly the angle I'm hoping Bioware would work, it just strikes me as a more rewarding experience than forcing us to choose between them.
Still, if it comes to it...

I agree, both the conversations with Tali and the "Migrant Fleet" philosophy struck me as the Quarians refusing to face the mistakes they'd made, instead constantly running away from any sense of blame or responsibility.
But that's just how I see it

I'd go for Tali.
EDIT: Hyperlinked it.

All the Geth you see in ME1 are hostile towards humanity, whether they are working with Saren or the Geth you encounter in the armstrong (I think) nebula. Sure they aren't mindless, but they still have no problem destroying human colonies and turning people into husks.
Yes the Quarians made a huge mistake with the Geth, but are any of the Quarians who created the Geth even alive? Its been 300 years after all.
If Legion represents a faction of Geth that honestly wants peace with the rest of the galaxy, then I'm gonna have to take the high road and bring him along, regardless of Tali being my friend. Hopefully Tali can be brought around to that line of thinking.

Yes, but doesn't the fact that it has been so long make it even worse that the Quarians have refused as a people to acknowledge what they did was wrong?
Still I'd rather have both of them on the team.

"SHEPARRD, HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT MY PILGRRIMAGE YET?"
"*sigh* Yes, Tali, you've told me a hundred times now, I don't need another lec-"
"GOOD, THEN I CAN TELL YOU ALL ABOUT QUARRIAN CULTURE INSTEAD! DID YOU KNOW THAT ALL QUARRIANS MUST GO ON A PILGRIMAGE?"
"Yes, I have... *facepalm*"
"WELL, DID YOU KNOW THAT I AM ON SUCH A PILGRRIMAGE RIGHT NOW? BLAH BLAH BLAH ****ING BLAH!"

Well see thats the thing no one cares to know that there is dissenting opinions in the Geth collective. So Geth of spiritual and militant nature have no distinction for the rest of the galaxy, so they both will defend themselves and carry out attacks to suit their needs. Which group followed Saren we don't know or if the rift was even there yet until Sovereign was destroyed.

Who's to say there even were separate lifestyles (e.g religious, militant)? couldn't they be both?
Wasn't it the Geth's worship of the Reapers what drove them into Sovereign's service in the first place?

How would your average human colonist on say, Eden Prime even know anything about the Geth, other than what he has seen them do, ie, kill his friends and turn them into husks? Have the Geth made any attempts to be diplomatic, ever? Sure the Quarian's history does not make them all that sympathetic, but from what the galactic community has seen during the events of ME1, neither are the Geth.
Other than Legion we have never seen or heard of any Geth attempting to even communicate with another organic (other than Saren).
Thats what makes Legion so fascinating though, I can't wait to find out more about him.
Also, your name makes me want to look for my old Primus records

I'm speaking more towards the things revealed by the Enemies Dev dairy. According to that the Geth collective split and is at odds with one another. I'm just assuming its the easily drawn line of religion/military it could well be that the religious sect wants to continue the work of destroying all organic life and the other just wishes to live in relative peace.

Killing off the only known Artificial Intelligence in the galaxy to form of it's own will. Not only this, but sufficiently advanced that he is willing to work with biological beings to save it later on down the road. In many ways he has just proven himself a "moral" superior by being willing to put such a prejudice aside while the biological can not.
Now here is the sad part. Your killing him just because you want to get some tail. Perhaps because you just hate machines.
I think it's tragic.
The other artificial intelligences we've met are THE REAPERS.
So, I'm not really too sure it's a good thing.
Still, where do people get the idea it's legion or Tali?
Has any hint been given to that or just fan speculation?
But, Tali.
