ah.. you know what I think it was a tech thing. newer engies have alot more in terms of shaders/alpha filters and so on and so forth. so considering they where using the eclipse engine it may not have been such an easy thing to include that without fully revamping the engine, which would have cost alot to devlop just on its own

I guess it was already decided back then tha they would be using a knew engine for the next Dragon age game, they just didn't know what it was going to be. So really what would the point have been to upgrade an engine that you where going to abandon in such a short time. you wouldn't you would just deal with the limitations and make all the things you want in the next game.

Edit: Ethnic diversity should be present only if it makes sense from a lore standpoint, if it doesn't, don't enforce it on everyone else because a few extremely loud multiculturalists shout and scream on the forums that they DEMAND diversity in whatever they do.

From a lore standpoint, it makes no sense either. Hawke isn't a native Ferelden. The Hawke family is from Kirkwall, which means his/her roots could be from anywhere.

Im not racist so definitely dont take this the wrong way. I have never seen a black person in Dragon Age. Not even Asians for that matter. Im starting to think they dont exist. The closest we have to blacks are the Chasind. They are usually dark skinned and they remind me more of native Americans than anything else.

But there are tons of places in Thedas whose inhabitants we haven't met yet. The Anderfels, for one notable example. There were humans living on Par Vollen when the Qunari invaded who we haven't seen.

So it's not safe to say that the Rivain's are black? I always thought that Isabela was black...

Fixed it for you.  You are very welcome. I know you and a handful of others will be upset with my use of the word racism, but then again what is the opposite of multiculturalism anyway?

By the way, who here was demanding anything? A handful of people were politely asking the Bioware team to consider adding more people of color into their game. I'm guessing you disagree with my observation but it seems like if anyone is throwing a fit and demanding anything its the people who are so upset over nonwhiteness being an inclusion.

Unless you are speaking of the debates between users over why or why not to include more people? If that's the case, it's user to user opinions either trying to convince the otherside or at least understand where they are coming from and not the playerbase demanding anything from Bioware.

Or does the idea of having white characters stand along side someone who is native american, black, hispanic, asian, middle eastern, indian, etc constitute as hateful?

Duncan and Isabela are just really tan white people, (or more akin to spanish decent). As for the ash warriors of Seheron. Something tells me they might be black.
