I'm new to this, as well as new to Dragon Age Origins, and i may have a bit of a problem:

I'm trying to get a specific ending so i can continue it onto DA2, as well as a DLC im most likely to get, "Witch Hunt". So i seemed to have been doing the Morrigan's romance right, up until it showed me Morrigan's "Ritual Completed, Not Romanced" Ending, or so i've read. I was pretty upset, i got Morrigan's meter as full as it can get, not being able to add more, pretty sure my MC was still romancing her, had Morrigan's ring equipped, never broke the relationship off, but still got this ending. So if anyone can help with this, that would be appreciated, better if someone can resolve my question fast, i've played and fought through Denerim like 2 times, doing it again a third time. Spoilers and such are accepted.

If memory serves, there is a bug in the end game - if you speak to Morrigan at all after doing the Dark Ritual, then it switches her romance back onto the Friendship path.

Morrigan also has a specific epilogue slide for when she is romanced (something about the Warden sensing Morrigan was thinking about them with regret) but this slide is pretty buggy. I wouldn't take that as a reliable indicator as to whether the game considers you in a relationship with her or not.

I have no idea if this was all fixed in some patch or a mod, but if you're doing another runthrough of the endgame, take it back as far as the Dark Ritual and do not speak to her at all (apart from when you have to at the gates, obvs).

One last word of warning, do not use a post-game save (where you're back at the camp) to import through the others. This too will bug the game (again, no idea if this was later fixed).

Good luck.

Not sure what you're asking.
In one playthrough after having romanced her in DAO I did tell her I loved her in witch hunt, kissed her and went through the mirror with her.

Thanks for the help, im so confused about the endings in DAO, i at least want the information on the save saying that i romanced her, for the Witch Hunt DLC, when i get it. Ferret, your suggestion though was exactly what i did, i never talked to her once after the the ritual and the farewell at the gates. I was skimming through other forums and saw that i might actually have to end the romance in order to get the "Regret and Sorrow" ending, which would make sense considering she has feelings for you and possibly regrets the break-up. If you romanced her, how did you do it? Did you do the same as what you had suggested or something different?

That's actually rather a good point. I hadn't considered that. I always assumed the regret was about leaving you at the end of the game and that this slide fires incorrectly, but your way round makes more sense.

In any case, I did what you did (for my Morrigan romance playthrough) - namely I did not talk to her after the Dark Ritual, and I'm pretty sure it all turned out fine. The Awakenings slides might not have recognised my Morrigan romance, but those are bugged even worse than the Origins ones, so that's saying something. When I got to Witch Hunt I got the romance dialogues just fine.

What is it that makes you think your romance with her is bugged, exactly?

It was mainly the ending, once i saw the ending and had no clear aftermath involving the ring, which i heard previously so i was kind of expecting it to appear, i looked up info on the whereabouts of my desired ending. It was there i saw that the ending i got was one that labeled Morrigan as "Not Romanced", which pretty angered me, going through so many previous saves because of a little mistake in dialogue with Morrigan, basically losing at the least 2 hours of gameplay per error, most being 5. I don't think it is bugged, i just feel like i'm missing something important, and if not, is it a bug or not? My Mass Effect COMPLETE Series PS3 playthrough (Huge fan by the way) didn't seem to have any problems with this, and if i had any problems i just typed up the situation and looked up old forums that resolved the problem. This though had brought me as far as to request help myself. So like i said before, i don't really think its bugged, i never said it was bugged, i just feel like i'm missing some thing(s).

On an unrelated note: I find the the auto save points the game has to be quite terrible, i mean the game is awesome, it's just it doesn't auto save to often, which sometimes has to take me back hours.

So overall, i think my problem has been solved, i'm about to do the Battle of Denerim a Third time, and upon posting this, my Witch Hunt DLC has probably finished installing, waiting for me to finish the game to continue it on an epic final confrontation with Morrigan!

Thanks for your help Ferret, if you would like to add any side suggestions, it would be completely appreciated, wish me luck!

Good luck!

The only thing I will say is that Witch Hunt does not follow chronologically from Origins. The order goes:

Origins
Awakening
Golems of Amgarrrsomthing
Witch Hunt

With Leliana's Song and Darkspawn Chronicles as standalones that can be done at any time.

Of course, if you don't care about doing Awakenings or Golems, then you can just skip them. But Witch Hunt might (!) be quite hard without the extra levelling up...
