Bear with me... don't start hounding me, or jumping to conclusions when reading this thread, but have they said when we can expect the final chapter in the trilogy? Because we all know we will likely beat the game withing a week and be asking this question right after. Might as well ask it now

Mass effect came out in 07 right? Im going to guess every 3 years at this rate...though no...i don't think they've released any details about when the third game will be released

It will most likely have the same timeframe that ME2 had....but the fact that ALL of the decisions from both games will be carried over, as well as the characters...I wouldn't be surprised if it took a little bit longer to make, like a few months longer.

If we're going by the Apache Planet Alignment Calendar, it should be out sometime in December of 2013. No, just kidding. Actually, Bioware will cease working on the Mass Effect Trilogy in mid 2011, in favor of the inevitable 5th transformer liscensed movie game.

I expect it to be delivered in less time then ME2 took. But there is really know way to know.

I remember some quote about them wanting a fairly quick turn around, to ensure they get all three games out on the 360. Also, the guy who said the first one was 2007 so the third one should be 2013? Bear in mind it was the end of November 2007, and this is the end of January 2009. That's two years and two months, not three years, if ME3 takes the same length of time to develop, we could be seeing it as soon as March 2012.

They've implied there's going to be a quicker turn around with ME3 than ME2. I'd put my money of mid-late 2011.

I read on Wikipedia (I know that everyone says Wikipedia is unreliable but everything I've ever read on there has been true) that Bioware isn't going to do anything to the graphics in order to make it as soon as possible and that they're shooting for 2011

To put it as politely as possible: it causes you as a writer as much pain as you let it cause you.

Some of the transitions from ME1 to ME2 looked like they cause more pain to the player than to the writer

I love this game took me a week to beat it the first time but i have played it so much that i have beaten it 8 more times lol does anyone know of any games that are similar to the mass effect games

I would have been perfectly fine if ME2 had the same graphics as ME1, aside from Garrus' face texture fixed.

Most importantly, what will the canonical choices of ME2 be? Along the lines of what they assumed in the first when an unimported character is created, I'm thinking that Shepard got all of his team and crew (sans Joker, Chakwas) killed. It's possible they will make Garrus and Tali survive for obvious reasons (fear of an unprecedented riot), but I'm still not counting on it.

Mass Effect 3 is already available for pre-order where I work, with an estimated release date of December 2011. If what Bioware says is true, and the turnaround is shorter this time, that sounds about right.

Almost everybody says a TBA 2011 release date, likely in November or December. The reason why it won't be the same 3 year dev time is because the game uses the same graphics engine and will not be set up to import to another game. Both of those things (especially the graphics engine) really cut down on the dev time. So yeah around 1.5 years from ME2.
