Miranda is Cerberus. Jack sees Miranda, a top TIM leutenant, as the face of the people who kidnapped and tortured her for years, turning her into the extremely messed up woman she is today. She's not picking a fight for no reason, she's picking a fight because she wants to destroy the people who hurt her, Miranda represents those people. That Miranda DIDN'T have anything to do with what happened to Jack is beside the point. Besides, Jack only has Miranda's word for that. If Miranda had been, say, the Project lead, do you think she would have admitted it to Jack, or Shepard? (Yes, I know she wasn't. You know she wasn't. JACK does NOT know she wasn't.)

She's fully aware that Miranda had nothing to do with it. Play the loyalty mission with both of them present.
And GEE! Color me surprised that all the Miranda supporters have her icon....<LOL>
There are a grand total of 2 people in here defending anything.

Only if Shepard promotes it.
True enough.
In that case, I think they both need friends anyways. Odd couples are best.
On another note, the other thing I don't like if I side with Jack is that both Paragon and Renegade options with Miranda come down to insulting Jack behind her back, telling Miranda to be the better woman that Jack isn't capable of being. Why would I say that if I had already sided with Jack? It's railroading. Like no matter what, Miranda is right. It's strange when Shepard can potentialy be a Cerberus test subject themselves. I think they knew this and tried to make up for it post game with Vasir's dialogue on Cerberus.

On a side note, its interesting how many female characters on the squad are not good in social situations...
Liara, Tali. and Traynor can be socially awkward at times, the stereotypical scientist and engineers.
Miranda comes across as being a little cold or standoffish at first.
Jack is, well...Jack.
Javik is the last of his people and has a superiority complex. Zaeed is very violent and has had half his face blown off. Jacob cheats on FemShep (but is otherwise relatively normal). James is ambivalent to his own state of being and has a tendency to blame himself for things he has no control over. Thane doesn't take responsibility for his actions.
Garrus Vakarian is a perfect gentleman, a consummate warrior, and a steadfast friend.

I can't think of anything mysterious or complex about Miranda. She's just kind of a b****.
But then again, the same applies to most of the b****es in Mass Effect that are still somehow popular with fans despite having no redeeming qualities except for their boobs, like Jack and Aria.

It happens whenever both loyalt missions are finished.
Taking out your anger on somebody who was wholly unaffiliated with your sh*tty childhood is just stupid.
Drama is fine, I just prefer my drama to be intelligent.

Jack doesn't have crap on anyone unless I tell her she does. I don't give a damn what Cerberus did to her as a child. I already went above and beyond helping her with her issue. Now she wants to go on a rampage on my ship, putting the lives of myself and my crew at unnecessary risk, and endangering possibly endangering my ships structural integrity. I don't care if TIM himself was on the Normandy, Jack will not behave like a child unless I tell her too. Or I will make her wish that she was back in her Teltin cage.
It is not beside the point that Miranda had nothing to do with Teltin. Jack is threating a person who was not involved. It's guilt by association for Miranda now. Jack was looking for an excuse to start something.
And is that supposed to be some jab at Miranda fans?

I'm always kind of interested to find what other fans think, but the hate for Aria surprises me. I've noticed it often enough. She's just "delightfully bad". Everything about her and Omega it's just good fun.
I don't think ****s are fun, though.
See, there's a big difference between the grim, hardcore mercenary with a troubled past and the Power of Infinite Snark - that is Wrex and Zaeed - and some loudmouth bimbo you could kick the ass of without blinking, thinking she's cool because she's the only character in the game with "F*ck" written into her dialogue.

Jack at least had the decency of having some kind of complexity to her, even if it only showed in my second ME3 playthrough for me because I got so sick of her in ME2 I just stopped talking to her. She even died because I sided with Miranda after the loyalty missions in my first playthrough.

You know, we don't actually get to see any Space Amish in Mass Effect. Potential: Wasted.

You're right about that. There's no denying it.
Maybe it's just something I enjoy myself, even knowing it's probably not cool. It's impulse for me to start crap if I find a way to associate someone. I've grown past it, but that impulse is always there. In a game though, it's just something to laugh about.

I think that guy's just being an ass to be an ass for the most part.
I don't even know where the jab at Aria came from. I rather like her. I reported him for vulgar language.
Jack is alright, to be honest, despite what I said regarding her picking a fight. I don't think her romance is all that believable to me, and I really think her character growth ended up too fast. I like her growth, but I don't really like how she goes from "most dangerous convict in space" to "respected alliance biotic training instructor" within a span of about 6 months.

The romance part is very believable to me. Not really something I've had success with though (not without trying). That said, I would have less success with an Ashley or Miranda.

Nope, I just legitimately think Miranda is a badly written character, and I've yet to see any argument even attempting to convince me otherwise. Likewise for Aria.

I go for the Miranda types. Miranda is pretty much a representation of my dream woman (emotionally and in character, as much as physically). Problem is, there's so few of them. I've had a few, but I never quite got into the part of the relationship where they complete fall into trust with me. It's fine for me. I sympathize since I'm rather slow to trust myself in relationships. I have a habit of not expressing emotion very well for most women.

Then that's on you. That said, you don't need to go around parading that we're dumb because we like her.
I for one think she's one of the most intriguing and interesting characters in fiction. Her character is very well written in my opinion, though how her character is implemented isn't always so.
I'm sure we can agree to disagree without you degrading yourself and us to petty insults?

I'm not the one trying to imply that people with actual arguments aren't worth my attention.
I believe this is a case of the iron pot calling a porcelain cup 'black'.

I think we have a difference in opinion and of what we like.
I probably don't have anything to say that will change your opinion of Miranda. I'm certain you're set in your ways. I'd be wasting my time telling you about what makes Miranda so fascinating, and gushing about the type of woman that I love, and explaining about the character archetype analysis papers I wrote in college from female characters like Miranda. It's not going to interest you, because it's not your cup of tea.
I don't think you could give me a compelling argument as to why, say, Shiala is a good character. She's a green Asari who worked for Saren and was indoctrinated but isn't anymore. That's about as far as my care in her character goes.
I just would prefer it if you didn't go around stating that Miranda (or any other character) is objectively bad.
And the correct idiom is "the pot calling the kettle black"
